Strawberry, i have not signed the contract with STS. Went to Goodwood Pk & STS today. Most likely taking up STS although i love GWP too. I think STS's bridal suite is really nice and Dannis will follow up with me on the coming Friday. I need to better estimate my guest list again to decide to get Padang or Stamford. =)

Is Swissotel negotiable on perks easily? I have view and tentatively booked the Canning for March 2009 when met with Galdys however, we feels that the perks are not very attractive as besides the cost of the table, we still have other things to consider and most are on the wishes. Like we have >30 tables only 2 wishes to be selected from the list

 1-night stay in the Deluxe Room at Swissotel The Stamford for coordinators (breakfast not included)

 Complimentary 1 x 30 litres barrel of Tiger Beer

 Complimentary food tasting with a bottle of wine for 10 persons

 Complimentary usage of 1 LCD projector

 Complimentary 3 bottles of wine for every 12 bottles of wine purchased at $45nett per bottle

 Waiver of corkage for 1 bottle duty-paid wine brought in for every guaranteed tables, subsequent bottles at $25nett per opened bottle

Well apparently hope to get more wishes out from them lah..haha...any1 would like to share the possibilities of getting of more wishes?

Hmmm well not possible to negoitate for more items. Very stiff and not flexi enough as compare to others, anyhow I really loves the high ceiling ballroom so no choice. Gladys is a nice lady, just that maybe STS set a standard on the quotation. Which ballroom you decided to book ?

Thanks Strawberry on sharing, if that is the case I might consider another venue already, after working out the sums, also quite tough, cos if they have already got the basic in the package like food tasting etc, then will not waste one of the wish, and also most will opt for barrel of beer, then there goes the 2 wishes..considering projector got to source +wine+corkage to take care, a lot of hassle also...

You are welcome. Ya, the package does not include food tasting whereby other hotels do have. I felt quite astonish about it too. But, again I really loves the ballroom when I step into it, those elite feeling.....

Exactly, I was very impressed by the high ceiling of the ballroom, looks grand. Besides, the flexiblity of the choices of the different themes etc, makes the whole presentation really impressive. Really like it actually, hmm...so btb of STS, anyone opt for the projector as one of the wish or you source for it outside?

hee hee.. I think STS really hard to bargin with.. infact many hotel are like that... so.. what's impt is what is shown in the package they say they will include...

Choose STS coz ballroom n service n food n location and of coz the room ...only.. the rest like price, perks.. really can't complete with others...

Me having abt 40table this year and just wine alone.. Cheapest I work out still need to get ard 1.2K (with corkage fees at $20(coz is 2008 package)) so is like another table price

But still... they are up to their standard .. v good hotel... so ... Plus and minus la huh

Hi SS, i didn't opt for the projector. I found this place that rents it for 1/3 of the price at the hotel http://www.rentprojector.com.sg/Products.htm and apparently, the reviews are pretty good. Otherwise, I might just loan from my office, but the projection might not be superb.

Since I don't get that many perks, I need to allocate properly... Also, I didn't choose food tasting. Guess I will just hope and pray the food will turn out ok!!!

Hi PlainGal....Price is not based on ballroom... is based on weekday/ weekend and which year menu... Best is to get from hotel (the latest price)

Which ballroom to choose will depends on how many Table you will have.. if u talk about min 30table I think if not wrong should be Atrium ballroom only.. the rest at least min 32, 34? check with hotel coz each year they change.

Are you looking at 2009 package or? If you are interested you can contact Gladys from STS to find out further more..
Let's say you are looking at 25 to 30 tables, STS will only offer you with their Atrium ballroom which its the smaller one.. In total, STS have 5 ballrooms if I'm not wrong, therefore it's depend yr AD will be on weekday or weekend and also how many tables you have..
Kindly note there will be increase on the package every year..

Yup agree with Strawberry there is an increase in hotel packages every yr. There is no harm in getting the packages from the hotel... Cos' once they send the price, they still need to honour it even if the rates go up. (That's what some hotels told me cos' I was looking ard that time). ;p

hey ladies, how many tables does Canning and Collyer ballroom accomodate? Dannis, the co-ordinator only mentioned Atrium, Raffles and Stamford ballroom to me. All the dates i wanted i.e. 27th Sept 09, 4th Oct, 11th Oct and 25 Oct all fully booked! Only left with 18th oct but my parents doesn't like the lunar date.

Raffles ballroom consists of Canning/Padang/Collyer ballroom. Each ballroom can accomdate estimate 45 tables if I'm not wrong...
Pls note that it's a shared recep foyer...

Stamford ballroom has own foyer, more exclusive, but the ceiling is not as high as compare to the 3 above mentioned ballroom.. And minimum required is table 45...

Sounds like STS really in high demand for 2009 banquet, they having total 5 ballrooms and you mentioned was all fully booked... One of my gf called up to check with them, unfortunately most of the dates for next year is being booked...
