Suggestion on Guest Accounts

Hi Chin Leng,

Just would like to suggest that you do not allow "guests" to post messages. I think it is rather clear that these users are usually more, well, "bold" in their choice of words.

I think some basic info should also be given for the user to be identified so that only genuine forumers would apply.

Just a suggestion for your consideration.

hi demio

Just incase u neber go back to CAB's thread liao ..... hee hee

I know it quite frustrating lor but hor u see huh? Some geniune guests really come in here to pour their sorrows and seek helps...... they dun want ppl to know who they are...... thus we got to respect that :P

That why u can see only Matter of hearts allows "so-call geniune guest" to post but not in other threads.... ( this is what I think lah)

hi cool & demio..

ya i do agree that some Guests really come in here as guest lah.. really geuniue posting lor... but hor...

those Guests who come in here to create war ah!! ahhh.. those must Get rid ah!

of course if i have "matters of the heart" to talk, i can always register under another nick... but that might result in many people using multiple nicks, which will increase administrative burden... so my take is guest is still a good thing... at least up till now, i don't see it posing a major problem... if anyone wish to wear a mask n come in to "ka ciao"... no worries... we'll hantam them till they leave

hi cooldevil,

yeah i understand wot u mean. But, isn't that the purpose of a nickname? To not let people know who you are?

hi demio
Nickname u must register mah (fill up details)...... guest no need lor...some just come in here and post get their advices then dun come in liao...... :P

thus the guest might not wan moderator to know also mah...it's P & C ..... sekali they are friends lei...kekekeke

And then if the genuine guest forget to hide some info by clicking at yr nick u can see some info inside....

can just apply the principle of "the lesser of two evils"...

help, advice, sharing n growing together shuld be good enough reasons to overcome the occasional hostility n flames... best thing is to ignore or answer without getting overly emotional cos some posts are meant to bait. if certain posts agitate, best to take a breather, have some coffee before deciding whether to rebutt or not. as the chinese saying goes... "playing piano to the cows"

Agree with powder on the help, advice, sharing n growing... man! good enuf reasons to overcome hostility.. wooh... but it does seems like this dun work here based on someone hor??

haiz.. really dui nui tan qing man!

hmmm... perhaps thread starters can be allowed annonimity and not the respondants? and the thread(s) removed if they are not constructive? Not sure if this is techincally possible and probably a bit tedious to monitor if it was to be done manually tho...

Hi all,

We've allowed anonymous postings only in "How to improve SingaporeBrides.com" and "Matters of the Heart".

For "How to improve SingaporeBrides.com, we would like users to feedback any comments they may have regarding www.singaporebrides.com. As such, we allow anonymity because we would like users to understand that constructive criticisms or negative comments can be given freely.

For "Matters of the Heart", as the views shared can be personal and private, we would like to give user a choice of posting their messages with or without using their registered account. I view "Matters of the Heart" a place for seeking solace and help when you are troubled. I don't want a user who is troubled by personal matters to be put off by the requirement of registering an account and end up leaving the forum without a message seeking advices.

We are aware that by allowing anonymous postings, it may allow potential problems to surface. However, I think it is an inconvenience worth tolerating for the purpose of helping other users in need.

Regards,
Chin Leng.
