Solemnisation at Amara Swimming Pool

I went over Amara during the weekend. I really dis-encourage anyone to sign up with them.

1st of all, not really happy with Michelle's service. my FH and i was caught in a traffic and was late for 20 mins. When we reached, she showed us around and ended the conversation in 15 mins.

Unlike other hotels, we had the discussion standing in the function room and were not given any brochures. She didn't even give us her name card, and i had to ask her for it.

She didn't even ask us to sit down at the lounge or coffee house and kept telling us that if we want the function room. They gonna charge us $450+++.

Anyway, we were not really happy with her service.

Maybe she was in a bad mood or wa? When we were there the 1st time, we just went straight to the poolside cos we wa to see how it looks like. (Take note that we didnt even make appt with Michelle). Concidenally, when we were there, they are setting up for ROM solmenation too. So we thou, ok we quite like the layout, then went to the counter at the 1st floor to look for the wedding planner. Then they intro me Michelle. As wa u say, she bring us to the poolside and the pavillon to look around, as they are setting up, she also say this is how it looks like... She did pass us a brochuers and her namecard. She was kind enough to send us a few pic thru email to us.

So I am not sure why she is like that when she serve u. Maybe diff ppl have diff comment ab her ba... let themselve to judge if they have their solemnation at Amara.

Just had my solemnisation yesterday at Amara...all in all, had a wonderful time..many thanks to Michelle and the reception coordinator Jeffery..

I was most pleasantly surprised to find that the path has been lined with white rose petals while I was walking down the aisle..hee..nearly bought the petals myself but eventually forgot to do so..haha..

Also, loved the guestbook which Amara has provided, and esp the service level of the high tea reception team headed by Jeffery..

For those who are planning to have their Solemnisation at Amara...I have these comments:
- There will be rose petals lined up both sides of the aisle that you are going to walk through
- They will decorate the pavillion with hanging drapes, main table, a flower centre piece(can choose roses color or geberras), and the seat covers are all provided.
- They'll also place a notice of your solemnisation event at the LCD display at their lift lobby so remember to take a photo of that :p
- There'll be a sound system and 2 mics so you can pass them the cd of your march-in music..
- They'll provide a white wedding guestbook so no worries (quite simple, elegant and nice) :p
- Upon check-in, you can try to ask the reception whether if it's possible to request for a late checkout :p cos or else, the usual time is only 12noon.
- The weather is quite hot in the afternoon so even if you are having your high-tea reception in the shaded area, it may be quite uncomfortable for your guests (and yourselves) so probably you may want to consider to pay the additional $400plus (i forgot how much) for the booking of a function room for your high-tea reception.
- So far, am very much satisfied with the service levels from Michelle (who had to put up with my last minute changes and requests) and her banquet team (Jeffery) so don't worry. She may sometimes sound curt & probably inflexible but overall she's alright. :p
- About 3 weeks before your Solemnisation, Michelle will call you to ask about your total confirmed guest numbers and may also email you the pics of the venue decor and the choices of flowers (roses and genberras) and colors in which you may choose from.

Sit back, relax and enjoy your day...

Hi Samgal,

Congrats!! The pics look great!
I am having my ROM at Amara on coming 1st Oct.
I find Michelle okie too.
Thanks for those info, i didnt know they provide the rose petals on the aisle and the guest book.
(will double check with michelle on this)

Ya, i am also worried that the weather may be hot as i am having it ard 230pm to 5pm. So i decided to have the ceremony by the poolside and the high tea buffet indoors in the function room.

Hi May,
Michelle called me about 3 weeks before my ROM day and she'll confirm with you your expected number of guests and also to ask what colors of flowers you prefer.

Personally, I chose white roses for the pavillion setup, and pink roses for my high-tea reception setting...

hihi...

Thanks for your comments :p My photos were taken by Kelvin of Lightedpixels...but sad to say that he's no longer doing ROM...he's concentrating more on AD & outdoor photoshoots from now on...I agree that his photos are very very good and I'm very impressed and happy with all of it :p

As for my gowns, I got it as part of my bridal package with Dang Bridal (I had to top up $150 cos I wanted duchess satin & in-built "can-can"). My flower bouquet is from the florist at westmall...and the type of flowers is called "hydrangeas" (I think)..my makeup is an ex-colleague who's a make-up artiste..

Hi. I'm actually thinking of holding my solemnization at Amara hotel at the pool. I went there last week to take a look at the pool but it was being used by another couple to hold their solemnization ceremony thus unable to view the pool. Wonder if you all have any pictures which you could share with me. Can email me at [email protected].

Thanks a million.

I intend to hold mine in Jan07 either at Amara or Carlton.

Anyone has any idea whether they can hold it at 9am-12pm? It seems more like breakfast then lunch. Thats the timing we are advised on after looking at "t0ng-Shu"
