hi all..

i had just completed my wedding @ marriott! i hav nothing to say but praises for the whole banquet team! we even went to thank charlene personally for her coordination effort..=)

hi www..

dun worry too much abt charlene not contacting u..yours is in dec 08..it is still way too early to settle anything as marriott's ballroom themes will change regularly and i m sure u do not want outdated themes for ur wedding by confirming details too soon, right? =)

mine is in dec 07..i booked in apr 07..charlene contacted me only in early august (which is more than sufficient) to start the planning..so..dun worry too much..=)

else..u call her to chk when u can expect to meet up with her on the details?

stay cool..u will be in gd hands..=)

Hi ladies,

any comments on the white and gold theme for marriott? I am thinking of taking the gold theme but the stands at the aslie look weird. For the white theme, am afraid the old folks dun like it and my EG does not go well with it... *headache*...

Still prefer their old themes...

hi jenrei, u have seen the pics? The last time i went there in mid dec, only drawings.. hmmzz.. i paid deposit w/o seeing the final themes though. i do agree 07 themes are beautiful.

hi jenrei, i like the pink theme the most but my EG will be pink, thus i have to take either the white or gold. However, both colours doesn't look nice. White is too white and elders may not like it. Gold looks so wierd. Hope they will do something better about it. Else really no choice, just pick the "best" out of those 3. When is your AD?

hi www, yah loh... i think they cant do that right. Since we have already paid the deposit. And even if they want to give our place to someone else, they should have called us to double confirm. They cant do double bookin too.

hi all,

wow it seems a long time since i last login to this forum already. How's everybody?

I would like to say that everything turns out well during my wedding dinner recently with Marriott recently. Comments on the food and ambience are good. Thumbs Up!

Of cos, the biggest credit goes to my Wedding sales coordinator, Annabel and Christine, Banquet Manager. They really did a great job to ensure that everything goes well that day. Especially to Annabel who came to attend my solmenization and is there to 'support' for both my march ins.

The service provided by the Waiter/Waiteress are also good.

For those whose wedding is this year, all the best in your prepration and enjoy the process..

Hey anyone has Charlene's email address? I had my banquet in March 07 and she was my coordinator. She sent me a greeting card in Dec and I thought I should drop her an email but I realised I had deleted all my past email correspondences with her. So if you have her email addy, let me know ok? Thanks!

i just reviewed the 2008 themes, all don't like leh. Pinks look cny with beads falling from side, gold looks rather normal only, and blue looks like winter sonata with botak bluish branches on the side. Anyone doing luncheon here?

Hi all, my wedding was held at Marriott Hotel last Thursday, 3Jan08.
I must really commend on the exceptionally good service from Charlene and her team at Marriott.

Charlene is really very understanding and accomodating to my many last minute changes (due to family commitments) and really tried her best to help me as far as it's within her capability.
My colleagues and friends all commented that the food was very good!
The wedding favours (me and hubby chose the glass coaster) were unique and pretty as well!

In addition, we signed up for the livestudios photography+ live projection+ digital guestbook package as recommended by Charlene and our guests simply loved it!

Christine (banquet manager) really did a wonderful job as well and the coordination on the wedding night itself was simly amazing!

My hubby and I both agree that choosing Marriott is really the best choice we've made on making our wedding a memorable one!!

For those of you who're considering Marriott, from my personal experience, I highly recommend Marriott to you as you'll be left in very safe hands.

hi lyndx
mine is the glass coaster too..very unique.

some of my guest complain that air con too cold, and Charlene took initiative to provide them with wind breakers for free.

as we are supposed to have bridal platter in my room, there was hippcus from hotel and never deliver. charlene actually compensate that with her own pocket ..she gave us a nice gingerbread cottage...so nice...

able to work with her is our pleasure.

hi www (bridetobe08), u may check with Charlene or any of the coordinators. Marriott have some corporate packages with livestudios.
u may go to www.livestudios.sg for the details.
signing up under Marriott will have a bit of discount though not a lot..

basically, they're like an events company. they take photocards for your guests of credit card size and they distribute to the guests on the spot. the guests can also write their wishes for u on a digital tablet and the photos and wishes are projected onto the ballroom's screen instantaneously!

it's quite cool! if u want to take a look at my exmaples, you may leave ur email and i send u some to see =)

hi y kim, i did my booking in dec, will be held in july 08. no free beer or wine. no concept of deco to choose from. Luncheon they say, not a lot of freebies, not even deco. Sighs. how many tables ya thinking?

annabella

Hi,

I'm holding luncheon at Marriott too, Oct08. I'm very comfortable with my co-ordinator which is a main factor that I chose Marriott among the few hotels that I have viewed.

For luncheon event, a lot of hotels actually do not have free flow of beer, wine, freebies etc.
If I rem correctly, PP, MC, GH, ConrXd do not have too. These are the hotels that I have viewed before I decided on Marriott.

hi praisey, no deco you mean do not even have theme? Like that means have to pay or normal kind of table cloth huh?

hi annabella, sorry who is your coordinator? Yup, saw that many have no free flow of beer etc.. but themes does not apply to luncheon too?

Thank you.

annabella

Hi YKLS,

My co-ordinator is Annabel Loh. You may wanna talk to her and see if she can help you in any way. Most impt, you must be comfortable with yr planner and have faith in them for a wonderful event. Try to view a few venues first before you confirm yr decision.

I think they have a standard theme for lunch. If I'm not wrong, we can still choose the colour/type of flowers, colour of table cloth as well. But the flower stands along the aisle is standard for lunch. For dinner, they have a few themes to choose from.

hi annabella, thank you for the information. I am meeting a coord on Monday. Will see how it goes will update again. Hope it all goes well. Are there a lot of hidden costs? I remember Marriott food is nice and the ambience is good because my sis hold her wedding there but its 3-4 years ago hmm dunno if there are any changes.

Hi YKLS,

For marriott, the package do not come with wedding flavors, need to top up 1 per pcs (if i rem correctly).

You can try to ask for wedding flavor to be in the package, corkage wavier for wine and hard liqour, parking coupon % and wedding card % (average should be 10% and 70% respectively).

I'm not sure abt the food, but one of my friend told me before he likes the food and ambience there.

My sis and her husband panning their dinner to be held there too next year after they seen the ballroom setup.

hi ykim, here are some tips u can ask for free:
- wedding favours confirmed
- more parking lots
- corkage
- wedding cake 1 kg
- beer
- 1 wine per table if u hit lots tables for dinner
- try for co-ordinator day room
- food tasting session for more pple

the sales at marriott are very nice. good luck.

Hi brides and bride-to-bes,

I am considering to have my wedding dinner at Marriot's smallest function room, Legacy Suite, cos I have only 8-9 tables. Anyone been there, seen it? Is the deco ok?

How abt the food in Marriot? My future in-law is a chef, very particular abt food. Can anyone share with me pls?

Really appreciate!

Thank you!

Hi Carol
We are gg to have our 5-6 tables at Legacy suit too. Have took a quick peep at the room, cant really see the full room cos it was occupied with a seminar.
So far we are pretty happy with it, as for food, im not so sure but looks good on the photos

Hi Margiel,

When is your dinner?

Am feeling ver stressed now cos my FH too busy with work to go thru the details with me. So glad to hav someone to share with.

May i ask why you chose Legacy Suite and not Ballroom 1 or Ballroom 2 since they are able to hold same no of tables?

When you going for food tasting??

Hi Carol! Stress not stress not
happy.gif

My dinner is on 15 Jul (tue). I din choose Legacy suite, neither do i know they have ballroom 1 or 2 too. Probably mine is only about 5-6 tables dats y straight away they offered me Legacy suite. Did u ask them to email u pictures on the room? We were rather attracted by the photo of the room and set up ;)
Not sure if they have food tasting for mine, but not really impt as we are living overseas, just that currently im back in Sg to source for gown as well as popping over Marriot to have a chat with Charlene.
When is your wedding? and how's your preparation getting on? Am glad to meet you too, I guess most couples' bookings with Marriot are at the main ballroom.
Btw they have few colour themes as well as flowers to choose from. Have they given you a package for your dinner?

My wedding is in Sept, wish I had started preparation earlier...

They had emailed me the Close-Knitted Package only, but now I think I need to look at their other packages too...

Not to worry...i am going to hang in and get it over and done with hahaha!

Hi Carol
happy.gif

Does ur date coincide with the F1 race? hehe.. SO which other venue are on your list besides Marriot? Have u gone thru your BS shortlisting? I had to do that when we were looking for pre-wedding photography and it's really tedious and time consuming man! But eventually happy with the photo outcome and the cost too hehehe...
Just got my gown from Allure Charix yday. Not too bad, better than renting from BS cos they charged me 2 times of what i had paid for this gown!! SOmemore only wear it for 3hrs. Might want to sell it off after the wedding tho ;)
Alright, hope u have a great time planning your wedding
