by the way, what type of gown do you choose and what do you mena by add on details? i thought for OTR gown, we rent it for what exactly it is? i like lacey gown, there will be 800 top up for that...

Hi everyone,

I just booked my package with SIL! The dress is awesome!! I was finding it very difficult to find something I like even though I went to many shops along Tanjong Pagar. Wanted something timeless and elegant but that turned out to not be easy. finally went to SIL, actually Amoy first but Kenji was not free coz I didn't make appt. Then he called Stamford and I saw Minda. I explained to her what I wanted and she took a few gowns out for me to try. Fell in LOVE with the 2nd one. So I feel Minda is experienced and can listen to client's requests.

I will be getting a MTM EG...most likely cheongsam. Fingers crossed that will turn out ok. Anyone did a cheongsam MTM with SIL? How was it?
 
Thanks for the congrats!! No I haven't started discussions for my EG yet. I'm based in Melbourne and won't be back till Sept. My AD is in March 2011. So probably start discussions when I get back. Meanwhile I've been trying to do research on cheongsams and the different styles. Hope to find a style that will be flattering and at the same time hide my flaws!!

actually in one of the other threads some of the ladies did share their CS design from the tailor based in Katong Shopping center? you can try digging the thread .. cannot remember the exact name of the shop though .. max couture or something like that?

it is to add on to the cuurent wg and to alter according to my build
need to bring my shoes along so they can alter the length

if you ladies want ready made one there's one in Marina Square that's not too bad too .. it's near starbucks / muji area i think?

by the way, i went SIL at stamford for my WG selection today..i was given to try on 3 WG which i have tried before during my first visit there...in fact i was expecting they will have more different dresses for me to choose from ( from their store or?? as before i sign up the package, i was told that they still hav many more dress in the store)..but from all OTR gown i have seen today there are about 30 pcs, no new piece is found) doubt if they kept it in the store for future use or got to pay extra for that?
 
hi laceyblink, did u ask if those were the only choices for u for ur WG? if thats the case, wont u be limited to just those on the rack? i m gg to visit Stamford next Wed to check out their range of WG cos i cant really find anything at amoy that i like.. so seeing ur comments here.. jus wana check with u how they are dealing with the demand over the shortage of supply..any advice they gave u?

according to them, OTR is the best and latest WG they have, which is they find suit me the most...hmmmm???
anyway, i have requested to check out WG at another outlet...hopefuly can find something i like..if you manage to find out the answer later, please update me ya

i sign up my package during their ST valentine promotion. the price is $3888 for OTR WG and EG, make up, car deco etc..for photoshoot will be additional 1k top up. Fully lace/tulle gown need to top up 800-100.
which are the 3 bridal shop u have shortlisted btw?
 
pinky....i din check out gowns at kevin seah, so not sure about that..but for GI...i have just let go my pakcage with them....so far i find silhoutte gown is really really "georgous"..but more pricy lo...there are few designer there..find the one that you really feel comfortable with if u wana sign up with them
 
laceyblink,so far i haven't been to the showroom yet,i'll make appt with them one by one to try on some gowns on the rack firts lor...but i got budgetleh,hopefully got a fixed price one,i'd like MTM full lace gown but charges???
 
hey laceyblink, what gown u chose? i went to Stamford and was shared on the St Valentine package too..i quite like their tulle gowns but was got to top up $800 extra.. so i am still considering cos its quite a lot of top up.. but i really think they have beautiful gowns..so i m stuck now with the pricing factor..sigh. may be checking out some others over the weekend. Anyone of u tried Dang bridal before?
 
jessy: I went Dang bridal before. Their gowns are also very classic n beautiful.. But at e time of my sign up, they didn't have many tulle gowns for me to choose from which was wat i wanted den i saw The gown at Sil n sign up with Sil. =)

I love lace gown.. check out both tulle and lace gown in SIL.end up i love both type...still confuse of which to choose now, really hard to make up my mind...:p I have not selected my gown yet, will go SIL for my gown selection soon, hopefully can find one

I had actualy wanted to mtm my WG with a bridal shop, but din manage to find a nice lace with them..end up let go my package with them and go for SIL.
my advise is to check out few more bridal shop for their gown and material, feel it and compare before u sign up...
 
Hi Laceyblink,i went to Graceful Image yesterday and tried diffrence design,recommended by the designer Judy,they got a lot of variety OTR gowns for me to try,espeacially types of lace that i like,but i'll go for MTM , she crope me the price very reasonable and affordable compared wit others,so end of we discuss and signed with them already,for the designer Judy was patient manange to find what i wanted,was impressed by their services too! for package OTR tulle gowns are inclusived! Anyway jessy/laceyblink u can check out wit Graceful Image again,they keeping update their gowns,hope u all can find ur dream gowns soon...

Actually I think it's nicer if you use fresh flowers as your hair accessories. Fresh flowers will soften the look and look more expensive and elegant.

I think fake flowers look a little cheap, no offence there. Unless you can get the really good silk flowers which look like the real deal.
 
carebearz yar i think for actual day i will get some fresh flowers for the hairdo and recycle these for my flower girls .. but probably use these for my overseas shoot. trying to be abit eco-friendly since already getting a bouquet for the outdoor shoot.
 
dyeann: did u buy other hair accessories e.g like those with crystals n feathers which might go well with ur gown too? Or intending to have just one hair do?

anyway gown big means u have lost weight! which's good isnt' it? hehe.. where are u intending to shop for ur shoes? im gg to drop by Sinderella & anna nucci this week to see shops as well =)
 
dyeann> you can get the florist to throw in some flowers for your hair...86creations did that and its more than sufficient for 2 different outlooks and the flowers can last until at night :P

My wedding is about 6+mths to go..hav not decided on my WG and mtm evening gown yet..i am kinda busy with work these day and it seems that my designer not even bother to call n follow up with me on my gown stuff...just wonder if any SIL btb here encounter this problem too? cos it seems like they are really very tie up with appointment always and i never received any phone call from her on following up matters...

laceyblink: I'll always book my next appointment with them e previous time i'm there.. and they're usually available for me to book with.. why not u just give them a call to make an appointment soon? U might need 2-3 mths for MTM EG..

btw brides .. in case you are looking for shoes, anna nucci @ far east has 20% discount.

there are some nice shoes in Novo as well .. bought a lilac / dusty rose satin heels to go with my evening gown .. after 30% discount is $34. thinking of buying diamante shoe clips to go with it hmm ..

yeah...hav just made an appoinment with SIL...they hav arrange to see me next weekend...gonna really work hard to do "homework" research on the EG now..any website is good for recomendation? I hav not fixed the photo taking date yet...most probably in end june or july...
what gown do you make from SIL dyean? is it a lace or tulle gown?
