Silhouette the Atelier

Hi girls,
I'm a BTB and researching on the design of my EG with Silhouette.

Can anyone, who had their EG designed from scratch, share their views on the results of their gowns? Did it turn out the way u wanted?

Thanks and look forward to more exchanges! =)

Hi MavL,
I'm also considering to do a MTM EG with Silhouette. Also looking which designs might be nice & if it will turn out well.

Any brides here to share their designs?

MavL,
I've just finished my discussion on EG design with my designer and she shld be starting on it....so no final pdt to show as yet. But from the designing process, it appears that my designer can understand what I want very well.

Keer,
I've some EG design research on my multiply...nick is jacklynyong...you can take a look there?

Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments =)
I love the gown very much and we just collected the album and photoframe and we love it!

Sorry, haven't been on the forum for a while. It's less than one week to my wedding and we are going crazy!!! particularly with renovation stuff, didn't turn out as easy as we thought it would be =(

btw, Jac, i wore the can-can all the way during the phtoshoot..even when we were on the pier.. I'm not sure whether it is the biggest they have.. but it's really big... haha.. is yours something like that? As for the shoot at the pier, he only managed to swing me halfway, then the gown is too long and he got stuck, so he had to stop.. hahah... but luckily that one shot turn out really well.. =D
As for the sequins, i think mine is those kind which is not very bling, just more shimmering.. so it's quite subtle in the picutres, but that's also why I like it.. If u wanna go for bling bling, then think it's like what Midas said, can check with the PG. I think it's the lighting and some photoshop work.. haha..

Hi Shermie, I don't quite remember mine.. i think they will arrange with you for first fitting dpeneidng on when is ur photoshoot. U must let ur designer know when ur photoshoot is, so that she can plan sufficient time for your first and second fitting =) hmmm.. as for MUA, i'm not sure who else is good other than Amy.. heh... this one have to trial and error kind. The designer can recommend based on what kind of makeup you prefer, then from the trial you will see whether u are comfortable with the MUA or not.. hth...

Fav Lau, I'm using 86 creation too.. Like what Minda said, u need to show them what you want, then the flowers will turn out well.. Also must remember what size of bouquet (small, medium) would suit your gown.. i forgot about that point, and my bouquet turned out to be too small for my big tulle gown.. but the design was something like what i wanted.. So i think u don't need to worry about that part.. and best of all, they are reasonably-priced =) [I noticed alot of florists are charging exorbitant prices!! for wedding bouquets and corsages]

Everyone have fun with your gowns!! You girls don't have to worry too much.. I'm sure the photos will all turn out beautifully cos Silhouette has really very very lovely gowns and of course, every bride is beautiful one.. just have to remember that =)

Hi Ladies, anyone can share your pkg with me? Kenji just quote me a special OTR pkg with 3 options for photography, O studio, Robin or ChrisLing's Eugene. Cost at $4,988. You think it worth it?

Hi juztea,
care to elaborate on your package? And also the type of OTR gown you've chose?

Hi Tracy,
Nice to see you back!! Your wedding is in less than 1 week?? Are you getting excited?

Oh you wore can-can all the way? I thout you took off the can-can at some point of the photoshoot cos i thot that your gown looks more flowy at the pier....I don't want a big can-can. Yes, that one shot is very very nice!
happy.gif

Mine sequins are like yours...the rainbow shimmering type...I saw that the sequins were reflected in the Silh ad, and i want them to be reflected in our pics- so vain of me :P
Do you have more pics to show us?

Hello! Care to send some pics too?
[email protected]

Jac, the gown i've tried on are the bustier ones with very big fluffy dreamy skirt! Very pretty i thought. Haha. I've yet to sign up, I'm torn between Sil and Dang Bridal.

But Dang's OTR is limited, have to do MTM as I'm a size 12 bride. Without photos will be $3888.

Sil Pkg includes

OTR EG

4 x Wedding Make Up & Hair
2 x Bouquet
6 x Corsage
1 x Bridal Deco
8 x Ribbons for Bridal Party
Choice of 3 photographer Robin, O Studio and ChrisLing Eugene.
28 Pg (12 x 15 album)

Hi MavL

I made an EG with silhouette. Erm, not fully completed yet. But so far, so good. Kenji is my designer and he has been really patient as he sketched out the different designs. It was modified from a picture i took in the mag. I am satisfied with the result so far. I will only see the completed gown next week. I'm sure your designing process will turn out fine.

would just like to ask the brides here - how much is considered reasonable for a bouquet? thanks!

Hi juztea,
Oh guess your gowns are from the Lovely range...
My package is similar to yours except that my EG is MTM and i paid more for my package - i think the OTR EG range is very little...in fact, the range of the OTR WG is quite small too...but they are new pieces.
I think your package is pretty standard in terms of the price and items included.

So if you have to MTM at Dang, it means you have to MTM at Silh too right? For Dang, the $3888, does it incllude OTR or MTM pieces?

We went for O studio
happy.gif
I'll send you a couple of photos of my gown later on at night..

Mei,
I've no idea how much is reasonable for a bouquet - prob from $60-100 (if its a simple bouquet of roses)

No Leh... I went to Silh to try on the gowns. I can fit into them. But not at Dang. Dang the OTR range is a lot smaller, and brides are slimmer. Haha...

Thanks Jac, please send them to me! Anyway, just got a piece of good news, Kenji is throwing in a MTM EG for me.

Mei,

Actually the price really varies, for eg. Mrs Teo at the Bedok market is cheap, the following is a guide for Mrs Teo's prices:
simple bouquet (roses) = $40-$60
mixed bouquet = $50 to infinity!

The "branded" florists (eg. those that you see in the bridal magazines) will cost you much more. Ala carte prices start from $100.

thanks jac and monkeymuffin, for your prompt responses.
happy.gif

hey monkeymuffin, i went to check out mrs teo today. i am taking using her for my pre-wedding bouquet. really cheap and good!
happy.gif
decided to forego the florist i checked out previously. they have nice flowers too but cost twice as much as mrs teo. mrs teo's standard is good enough for me.

hi juztea,
its great that Kenji is throwing in the MTM EG for you...so have you decided in which one to go with?
its great that you can fit into Silh's OTR gowns!!
Sorry i haven't got time to send you my pics yet....so i'll send pics to this email add? [email protected]

Hi monkeymuffin... can you please let me know your florist is at which market in Bedok? I stay in the vicinity and am looking for someone to do fresh flower corsages for my family. Thanks much!

Hi s'rene. I believe the florist monkeymuffin is talking about is the blk 85 wet market at bedok north. can't really remember the unit number(#01-29??) monkeymuffin will have to help you with this. but her stall has photographs of bouquets of flowers that she created.

hi s'rene,
the address is 85 Bedok North Ave 4, #01-124, 96391992 (hp).
I suggest you call her before you go down coz last time i asked, she's off on Mondays. Plus being in a market stall, she's off pretty early, abt 3pm, i think.

Hi juztea,
Congrats!! Think we've all made a great choice! and like what mei said, you are going to have lotsa fun at silh. Are you taking OTR WG? Who's your designer?

Hi Ladies, i've decided to take my wedding gown from Silhoutte Bride... going to try the dress tomorrow again to confirm on the dress that i really want... ALL their gowns look so beautiful, its really really difficult to choose....
Only, Mei, Jac, what are your gowns like? I know they have a few key designs eg: ball gown, full lace fitting and some more special design... Getting excited... would love to hear what are you ladies choices!!!!

Go for Kenji! At least thats my designer.
Should be taking OTR WG, but he is going to add on more details, and change the neckline to sweetheart. Also, I want the little jacket. So cute!

MTM EG for sure! My hubby likes big poofy tulle gowns. Found this out so recently, i thought he liked it simple. Hahaha..

Hey nik nik! Ya! i was ogling at the new collection - i wanna wear them all! ha ha! can imagine the dilemma you must be in!
happy.gif
you got multiply? can share with you more there. My nic is soliloquy7

As for designer, mine is Kenji (same as you, juztea!
happy.gif
). Has never spoken to Minda before so can't help you there. But I think all the designers there are nice, judging from the many positive feedback on this thread.

Juztea, your gown has little jacket? So interesting leh! I saw some little jackets once at silhouette - wah, very pretty and so exquisite with all the intricate beadings and crystals sewn on them!

Hi nik nik,
my gown is a tulle gown with glitters...you can add me on multiply too...nick is jacklynyong
My designer is Caroline and she's very good!

Mei, i was ogling at the new collection too!!

I haven't seen any small jackets at Silh...Mei where did you see them at? On the rack?

hey jac!

sometime in may, i was at silhouette to discuss my EG and kenji was busy with some customers. so i was looking around and one of the assistants showed me 2 little 'jacket' lying on the table - i think they have this table / shelf facing the couch? they were cap sleeved and length maybe reaching only mid of one's back. Don't know whether they are the kind juztea is taking. They were translucent and had very nice beadings and crystals. That was the only time i saw them...so pretty...

juztea, i'm very curious about the shape of your gown, since you are taking those little jackets.
happy.gif

Jac , Mei and Juz Tea: MANY thanks for the feedback.... so most of you are having the tulle gowns.... I just went down today again to confirm the wedding gown. And i've chosen a full lace, fitted A line dress... Was considering the ball tulle and this one that i finally chose... i was really in a fix! The sequeins on the tulle is so dreamy, glittering... Exactly like a princess... But because i'm a rather tall, with broad shouldres, big boned lady and my HTB is not that broad build type so Minda suggested that probably the fitted A line might be more flattering! Well its two different looks. I've always like FULL Lace gowns anyway, going for a long veil too...
happy.gif

I'm only getting the WG from Silh, my evening gown and tea dress is done elsewhere.

Hey Nik, added you already.
happy.gif
Ah! A full lace gown! I also like their full lace gowns! In fact, i like ALL their gowns! So, you're a tall gal! Envious!
happy.gif
I had to hunt high and low for a pair of high and yet comfortable shoes so that i don't look 'cartoon' in my big tulle gown. heh heh.

Hi, i'm new to this forum. Am really stuck between Sil and The Wedding Present. I love the princess feel i get donning the Sil's gowns but TWP is better priced in a way..and also for the same price..i can get MTM and teadress. sigh. SOS.

Hi Nik Nik,
what's your multiply nick? I think I didn't get your invitation.

wow, a full lace gown. is it heavy? I have the impression that full lace gowns are heavy.
like mei, I'm envious of your height....i was so conscious that I look short in my tulle gown.

My shape of the gown is those tulle, very big ones.. Cos I'm on the fatter side, size 12. It covers some fatty arms and gives my shoulders a very nice shape. Enhances the HOUR glass effect, and yes why I say hour glass, cos there's a super tight in build corset.

Kenji is MTM one for me to match the gown. But I tried on 2 little coats. Very CUTE!

Thanks mei, keer & jac!
My designer had picked a design for me and looking forward to it...
Will share with you girls once the EG is ready for show
happy.gif

Hi Mei & Jac: I'm 1.72cm tall, same height as my fiance WHEN i dont wear heels....actually nothing to be envious, hahahahahh cos i have my problems too. I have broad shoulders (cos i used to swim alot), however my fiance is not a broad build... in fact, he can seem smaller size than me!! ahhahaha was deciding at the shop with Minda the height of heels i can get. I tried their 2.5inch heels and a 3.5-4inch heels..... i've decided ont he 2.5inch.. hahahah because i already look taller than my fiance... so not no nice for him, if not i'm like a TOWER / GIANT, towering over him..... either that or my fiance is pulling along a mountain across the ball room! ahahha

Juz tea: i'm not a small size lady too... I'm a size 10 - 12,,, big boned... was very conscious when i first tried the Full lace fitted A line dress, because I'm conscious of my broad shoulders and broad hips lor.... i love their tulle, soft, simmering, romantic.... but if i wear them, guess i'll look even bigger lor...

Mei and Jac: dont worry about looking too short... cos they are quite a lot of tall heels nowadays.. whereas, i find it a big challenge to find nice looking shoes with shorter heels.... because all the nicer shoes are always in high heels!!!!
sad.gif
the taller girls dont get nice looking shoes lor..
AND, when the girls are smaller beside their husband, they just look sweeter, and DEMURE! so rejoice!!

Jac: My nick in Multiply is "Nikkein"
The lace gown is heavy, so the gown must really fit, if not it will droop i think.. ahhahaha.
Now i must look for a tight corset, so that i can have a more enhanced waist line on the gown, dont want to look like a barrel! ahahhaah

Krispykreme: I can understand the situation you are in, because i was once considering both too.
Both are very good shops, but i must say both are on different platform. Meaning, they are strong in their own individual style and design.

Just sharing my person opinion here..( may not be agreed by others of course) I went to Wedding Present first, and i liked their gown design, majority of the gown are made with duchess satin, with embroidery... have very sweet design and very grand design. However i was told by a frend that it is important which designer you use there, cos there is good and not so good one.

As for Silh designs, they are those with lots of lace, and tulle design, slightly lesser duchess satin. i noticed this difference, and thus paid a little more attention to their details. Then i realised that their details and beadings that they use are very selected. They may not have a variety of beads / sequins, but they do use carefully selected beads that suit the lace or gown. End up, the gown looks so much more attractive. eg: their tulle gowns, i've seen a few that has nothing but just sequins, it still looks opulent. I chose Silh eventually because i feel more comfortable wearing silh gowns, and i've not heard any bad comments about any of their designer.

So end day, it really depends the kind of design that you like, the details that you prefer, and your comfortability level with the shop / designer. Dont be shy to try their gowns, you may discover more details, your likes and dislikes on your own.

GOOD LUCK!
happy.gif

Mei: Just saw your gown on Multiply! VERY VERY NICE!!!! it has a very long and big train.... that has always been my dream gown.... My mum was beside me when i was reading Multiply...she also commented its beautiful... and was pestering me why i didnt want to take a big tulle dress.... And i can only tell her, because i'm Big and she (mei) is smaller size! .... *sob sob*

Hi Mvvy,
looking forward to your EG pics...what colour is it?

nik nik,
i've just added you on multiply. Doesn't the lace gown come with an in-built corset? I never tried Silh's lace gowns before.. I do know that other types of gowns have in-built corset. I feel a lot more secure with the in-built corset cos i don't want to have to keep pulling up my gown when i wear it.

Hi krispykreme,
I haven't been to the wedding present... I can only share my experience with Silh. my experience with silh has been wonderful so far. I always leave Silh very happily and always looking forward to my next appt
happy.gif
Their gowns are really really exquisite...some of us Silh brides here have been drooling over each other's gowns
happy.gif

Hi Nik Nik and Jac, thanks for your comments and fedback. You are right i ended up signing yesterday after i saw the gowns again. But i was told i need to top up for the OTR package cuz the gown i am choosing is from the Beautiful/Lovely collections. Is that true? Cuz i have a GF who also signed with Sil on FRiday but her top-up was only $500 and mine is $800. I asked Minda if i could see my GF's gown and Minda declined. Sigh. I kind of feel a little down, not sure if i did the right thing now. Cuz if i din take the photography pack, Minda still charged us 5k for the OTR package. Is that too expensive? Sigh sigh sigh.

Can i also have both your Multiply nicks to add? Mine is crozogirl. Please add me. Thanks.

i just signed with sil....! simply love their gowns!

krispykreme: i didn't take the photo pack and mine is otr... u have dbs card? if u have, the package is $3800 (without photo)

hey krispykreme,
congrats on signing up!
My gown is also from the Beautiful series...and I did top up too. But I can't remember how much I topped up. Ya, i think the top up amount might vary depending on the gown chosen.
Hmmm, maybe next time you can go down with your galfren and see the gowns together?
Don't be down... I'm sure that you will be very satisfied with your gowns. Because if there's anything unsatisfactory, i'm sure your designer will adjust till the gown is to your satisfaction.
Do note though that with this stated amount of top-up, there should be no more future top-ups. There is really no hidden costs in their package.

I'll add you in my multiply
happy.gif

Octus, congrats too!!
I love their gowns too!

HI Jac,

I've checked my Multiply contact status, weirdly i still dont have you in my contacts. And when i try to re-invite you again with your nick "jacklynyong" it says invalid ID, i wonder why..... Maybe you can check on your Multiply account and see if i'm added to your contacts? Sorry for the trouble.

The lace gown doesnt have a built in corset, i asked them before, and they said for full lace, not soo appropriate, afraid it will affect the finish on the body.... i'm not too sure too... eheheheheh.... that is why i have to look for a good corset.
happy.gif

Hey Krispykreme,

Yah i gathered they have different price for different gowns. If your gf also makes a gown there and Minda knows that, i doubt she its very likely that the gown you have chosen is a more detailed piece , or difficult to make piece?
happy.gif

I just took their wedding gown , no make up, photography, flowers evening gown etc... also not cheap... but what to do , i do really like their gown and was willing to take it
