Hi nervousbaby,Lynn is my co-ordinator for my wedding... so far she is quite nice and helpful. I only met her once during the roadshow and email her a few times for some quries. Just tell her what u need, she will try and work something out for you. She answers her email promptly. So i guess there is nothing much to worry. Hehe!

Nice to meet you.Haha such a coincedence. Congrats on your wedding! My AD is 010109. Lucky thing is not the same date as you if not Lynn will be very confused. Haha.
 
Seems like everyone's coordinator is Lynn here. For those who just placed the $200 deposit during the wedding fair, have u all signed the contract with her via email or meet her in person?

She has requested us to sign and fax over the contract, but I think is too informal and I got outstanding questions to ask her and wnat to negotiate further.

Lynn sent us the contract via email and requested us to sign and fax over too. I have arranged to meet up with her tomorrow evening to clear certain doubts and also to view the actual wedding setup for Pavilion. =)

There will be an actual wedding going on tomorrow. So i intended to drop-by to take a look. keke..

I think it would be good to go down and talk to her. She can go thru the contract with you. Like what C017171E said, she only email us. I will meet her nx week to discuss more on the contract.

was flipping through the style weddings guide and suddenly Rasa Sentosa was there and we were like why didn't we think of it earlier... and we just missed the wedding show...

hey peeps...

im back from our honeymoon and wanted to share with all of you here about my wonderful experience with rasa sentosa for my wedding on 22 March 08.

everything went well except for the slight downpour before our cocktail reception. hence, we had to do away our cocktail reception at the garden lawn and sacrificed on the beautiful sunset scenery.

other than that, everything was great! suprisingly, most of my guests were able to find a parking lot at rasa despite the fact that we kept reminding them to park at the beach carpark.

i would say that, overall the banquet was a success and all the staff were very well co-ordinated!

special thanks to our events manager, Shirlene who took good care of us all this while! We are glad to be her last couple as all of you should know that she's is leaving rasa (to be a tai-tai).. heehee..

hey guys, rest assured... you made a good choice in choosing rasa sentosa!

oh yah, btw. i have quite a fair bit of red wine leftover from our wedding. willing to let go at a good price. email me at [email protected] if you r keen!

Hi Truff, so you are that couple after mine.
My wedding was on the 21st of Mar.

You are right, i think all of us had made an excellent choice in choosing Rasa Sentosa as our wedding venue.

My banquet was a success too with many of my guests praising the excellent services provided by Rasa.
Not to mention the after dinner services rendered to us after the wedding dinner.
My hubby was drunk then and the banquet manager was so kind to provide some honey + tea bags to make him feels better.
So no hangover for him the next morning.

Shirlene is a great help to us too.
It is indeed a great loss to Shangri-La group that she is leaving them to be in Germany.

So coming Rasa brides to be, enjoy yourself on your AD.

yah.. i happened to hear about you from shirlene a few days before my wedding. was in rasa sentosa to send some stuff to shirlene and she told me she's meeting u to get some stuff from u.

hehehe.. glad to hear that u had a fab wedding too! oh yah, just to add on... we really enjoyed our breakfast in the room on the next morning... it's indeed relaxing to have our b'fast at the balcony... overlooking the sea... its something which we definitely cant do if our hotel is in some city area..

I had met up with Lynn over the weekend. I think she is great and she will try to accomdate to requirements as best as she could! Thumbs up for her!!

With except ours in right in front of the TV set. Ha.
 
hi connie, thanks for the advice at least i feel more relieved.. cos coordinator is indeed a very important person for our AD. It is really sad tt Shirlene has left.. But nvm hope everyting wil still turn out fine for our AD..

Im new here and find this thread really useful!

I jus met up with Lynn today and had a tour of the place. I find the solemnization sites really beautiful but was jus wondering if it rains on the actual day, do we still have to pay for it? ($1500 as she told me) Although we will be provided another room, it sounds rather unfair to us..

Also, has anoyone held their solemnization there? Will it be hot and uncomfortable for my guests? As im worried abt the outdoor conditions. And is the sound system provided good enough for all the guests to hear the proceedings?

Appreciate any feedback! Thanks!

Hi All..im in the midst of my honeymoon..waiting for my clothes to dry actually..haha
Had my wedding on 30th mar..Shirlene was my coordinator, but 1 week before my AD, she told me that Emily will be taking over..Em was great! She managed to take care of everyting since we arrived and was able to reassure a very very kan cheong bride..hee

Havent really feedback to her yet..cos some of our guests told me b4 i left that the waiters were not really good..ie they were quite slow in topping up the drinks etc..furthermoreã€one of my fren has wine spilled on his back, which he do not noe who did it..

Other than this, the banquet managerã€the AV person of of cos emily again definitely made our wedding an enjoyable one..Didnt regret choosing Rasa..=)

Emily was my coordinator when i had my wedding on 19 Jan. She was great and able to take care of everything... Everything ran smoothly and she was there until middle of dinner after our second march-in. Overall we are very pleased with her service... Me too, din regret choosing Rasa

I had my solemnization outdoor at the lawn and it has been the best moment of my life. Take it, you will not regret it... we were also very worried wat if it rain and indeed if it rain, you still have to pay for the rental fee... unless you change your mind the day before then you don't have to pay.. (can check abt it with your coordinator) my contigency the last time was to hold it at the lobby lounge if it rain, but they have to do a nice set up for me...

My coordinator had checked with the weather forcast dept on the weather and they safely set up the place for me.. and assured me that it will not rain. Indeed, our prayers were being answered and the weather was beautiful...

We held it at around 6pm and the weather was perfect... it wasn't hot nor wet... think it is due to the sea breeze...

Where will u b holding ur banquet?

do you gers think it would be better to hold ur wedding on a friday or on a sunday?

i'm considering these 2 days, and my HTB prefers a friday as guests do not need to work the next day. but my parents think that sunday is better due to the day ceremony.

in a dilemmia!
 
i'm opting for sunday personally, think that dinner on friday may start late cos pple are coming from work and your brothers and sisters will need to take leave to help you out on a friday....
 
I have a concern about the food and waiters standard of service and language ability for Rasa wedding banquet. Is the food good & waiters up to standard?

E.g. Will the beer have no gas and foam (due to the barrel was opened very long before commencement of dinner), soft drinks were tasteless and no gas.

Food nice or not?

The serving of food is big,do not have to worry as the food will turn out just like wat u have for food tasting.
i don think there is any problem with the staff as they did great on my dinner(11/11/2007) as i have a wonderful time there
do not have to worry abt the drink or beer
just enjoy yourself and let the coordinator handle the rest
 
if i am not wrong u can only mix between the menu a and b,not like change from weekday to weekend
you can ask the coordinator for more detail

Do you know if the existing sound system in Rasa Sentosa's ballroom is good enough for a live band? We are planning to engage vocalists with a keyboardist and we are not sure if we need to hire additional equipment.

Any experience to share?

Hi blissful, thanks! Then one more thing for me to do already. I am thinking how should the cocktail reception looked like... Sigh.. the table tennis tables near to the ballroom cannot be removed. So unsightly.

I'm also interested in holding my wedding at Rasa Sentosa. Can I just check, is Pavilion the only ballroom available? I tot there was another ballroom called Siloso ballroom as well?

Anyway, what's the new pricing like for 2009?

my friend gave me lynn's contact and i have contacted her..going down to see ballroom this coming sat.. i like rasa sentosa coz it is not in main city so the feeling is different

but then.. when i told a few ppl i am considering rasa sentosa.. all told me the food is horrible.. sigh...
is the food really that bad???
not one complain food is horrible ley.. it is a few ppl complain..all of them attended wedding at rasa sentosa before..
 
realise if i want to held my solemnization before my dinner..it will be $1500net
that is the price of the solemnization package rasa sentosa offer..

but then all i need is a function room, a table and a few chair.. i am not going to invite 200 ppl to my solemnization..just immediate family members..around 10-20 ppl only.and i do not need any pre/post solemnization cocktail..

unable to get lynn to let me use one of their function room FOC.. thinking is it possible to do it on the ballroom's stage before my dinner.. around 6pm.. then quickly let the resort guys set up the stage for the wedding dinner..

anyone did that before?
 
Hi poseidon_gal, i suggest perhaps you can solemnise in your bridal suite, tt would be free since you have the bridal suite as long as u sign up with Rasa for your banquet.
 


blissful, I did think of that coz heard there are ppl doing that too.. u did that too or you know of ppl that solemnize inside the bridal suite.

I have not seen Rasa brial suite. No idea how big is it.. hmmm so I can request them to provide me with a table and a few chair inside my bridal suite for my solemnization?

Anyone did that before? Can provide me with an program outline..
