It's too late for me now, but I have suggestion to Regent bride. You can switch the order of the food if you want. Like put ee-fu noodle in the third dish. Most of my guests could not finish the ee fu noodle because they're full already. If I knew that I could switch the order, I would put ee fu noodle earlier

Latte: for my guests I think just nice.. as the portions is not very very big for veggies etc.. I think normally they dont reccomend you to change the order of the dishes as eating noodles may be too full for the guests also, therefore they cant appreciate the other dishes.. hee

Shan, mine is 8 course. Hmm, my friend will hold her wedding in other hotel and she changes the order of the dish. I thought that was a nice idea.
sweetlove, I am not sure, perhaps my guests are not big eaters, or perhaps some of the guests had left early that day.

Im looking at having my wedding at the Regent or Marriott. Which is better? I've seen the Royal Pavillion Ballroom at the Regent but I don't like the two pillars in the middle and the screen size is odd. Any suggestions?

pehps: Sure no problem.. Muz emphasize to your co-ord and chef during food tasting that food taste/quality and quantity must be good and enough..

Exotic Poppy: I havent been to Marriott but how many tables will you be holding? I had 27 tables and they are able to arrange it in such a way nobody was blocked by the pillars. Even if u have the max tables I think they will try their best to avoid the pillars too.. Screen Size I feel is okay, its not un-proportional or distorted in any way..

Thanks. Im looking at about 40 tables. Is the food good and were they able to get one waiter per table to serve? I generally like Regent just the pillars only..haha

Haha the pillars are no issue. Their max no. of tables is 45 I think (do check with Regent)so still able to avoid the pillars with 40 tables
happy.gif

Yes its 1 waiter per table, which I feel is very important! Been to some weddings where they have 1 waiter to 2 - 3 tables.. -_-"

Another good point of Regent is the classy look of the hotel.. can go around the hotel taking very grand and lovely photos before ur wedding (thats what I did). Many such places to take photos at!
happy.gif

Plus, if ur wedding at Royal Pavilion banquet u get access to their tea lounge (the entire right corner or the lobby) in the evening for your guests to chat and rest. Many plush sofas and the whole feel is very grand and luxurious!

sweetiepie: Combined theme is not reccomended as it may not look nice.. what u can do is choose a theme, then u can change the flower colours (like instead of pink choose purple) and maybe the type of flowers also.. if you mix and match too much it will look weird. ur co-ord will advise you accordingly
happy.gif

their themes is also one of the best around!! hee.. love it!!

wah im like the spokesperson for Regent.. lolz

Hi All,

Just went to select wedding favours, invitation card and guest book last sat. Was very surprise by the number of items given!!! there are around 15 to 20 wedding favours to choose from.. all very cute and nice and don't look cheap at all.. the invitation card there are around 6 series each serie has around 3 to 5 colours to choose from. and there are 6 guest books to choose also!!!

very happy with their service provided!

Hmm, is there 6 guest book to choose from?
I remember there's only 3 when I chose mine last month.
It's a red, ivory or black one. And the cards are not that fantastic. There's element if elegance n emotions and some other series which I dun find it really pretty.

But gotta say their wedding favour selections are really good!
I chose that the fastest

Sweetiepie, my wedding co-ord is Larrina. As suggested by sweetlove, mix and match theme is not recommended. But you can choose the color of your desired flowers. I did that. the flowers for Emotions theme followed another theme

Hi sweetiepie,

Ee fu noodles with mushrooms (the non-spicy one) is the BEST!!! yes have to consider for the kids attending ur dinner so best not to take spicy options for the noodles/rice.

For fish, best to choose steamed versions as they will use fresh fish. For fried ones not so fresh. Yes agree the soya sauce one. Not sure which fish is freshwater or seawater, some pple dont like the "mud water" taste in freshwater fish. you may like to consult the chef during ur food tasting or check with ur co-ord for more info
happy.gif

metro: teapot sets is 2, 1 for groom side and 1 for bride. I am not sure about the red brolly but should be right from the moment u step out of the main door.

Troubled... Had food tasting recently.. Now having a difficult time trying to choose the soup... We tried the sharksfin with seafood & lobster with melon, both taste awkward, perhaps we not used to the soup base... We are expecting the lobster soup to be similar to western style... Quite disappointed though... trying to save the environment but now, looks like sharksfin is more acceptable compared to the lobster soup.. Any other suggestion? Bird's nest soup will be quite similar to the lobster with melon.. they both uses dried scallop..

metro: Haha I think because they dont wanna waste $, so they just bring over.. its more mafan but save costs bah
happy.gif
U can also consult the shop owner at those traditional wedding shops at Chinatown hehe.

Sweetiepie: Mine is the lobster soup with winter melon.. my guests said its quite unique. Actually if its cooked western style very dun match with the rest of the dishes also mah. The soup actually quite nice, can taste the sweetness of the lobster and dried scallop.

I also wanted to save the sharks (LOL) so choose the lobster soup and it tasted not bad! Maybe u are just not used to chinese soup? Hehe..
