Hi Shirlet

RH can take a max of 25 tables only (min is 8 I think).

Shirley/Stephanie/Sassy Bride
You may want to drop RH an email to ask for the package since ours may be outdated already.

Hi folks...

Just want to know how those who have had Agnes as a coordinator before find her? What about Annabel? What's her function?

Hi Ladies,

I am interested to know more about Raffles hotel for their AD banquet, please kindly advice me on some queries if possible.
May i know how many ballrooms are there in RH?
For their charges, will there be any difference in prices per tables for Fri,sat & sun?

Thanx a bunch!!

Hi FSM,

There is only one ballroom in RH. The rest are smaller function rooms.

Don't think there are differences in Fri, Sat & Sun prices per table.

Hi Ladies,

Thanx alot for the infos terrapin..so their min 8 tables-max 25 tables are held within the same ballroom..able to share how does RH ballroom looks like? Their style, shape of ballroom like square or rectangle, how is the stage, etc?
Pls kindly advice what are the details that i have to provide them when i make my first confirmations for AD too?
Which co-ordinator is nice that you girls would recommend?
Thank you..

Hi Fairyshoemaker

Hope I am not too late. The ballroom is rectangle shape...u march in from the back n all the way to the stage at the front...

u need to give them the number of tables and date(s) u looking at....then bargain abit with ur coordinator....

Hi xin.

Thanx..

Thinking of going to have a feel of the ballroom & have some discussions with the co-ordinator.. Any good co-ordinator to recommend please?

Thanx

winterwhite

If im not wrong agnes is the coordinator there, no others as of now. She's nice, can book an appt w her and ask her to show u ard.

Hi Eline, thx alot.. are you holding your AD at RH too? btw, anyone having or had their "jincha" in the hotel instead of having it at home? Thinking that it is more convenient to have it there but totally clueless of how it works?? Can anyone pls share some infos on this? Thx!

Hi winterwhite

have booked RH for my AD in Mar 07 already. Saw a few and felt tt was the one i liked most so settled for tt. As for the tea ceremony, I would be having mine at home, but think RH has function lounges tt you might want to ask if can use for tt if u want

Hi to all,

Xin, Thanx for the informations..not late at all. Is the stage big? if there are ard 20 tables, would the spacing be abit tight in the ballroom?

Can i also check how much is per table for the AD there? or are there any additional charges that i have to look into as well?

Hi Fairyshoemaker

20 tables should be fine....in fact i may need 25 tables and my coordinator say no problem but more than that is very tough....just note that is a cosy ballroom so no high ceiling....

stage wise soso lor...not big not small hehe...

i pay 899+++ per table...additional charge should be corakge, wine etc...

Hi

Thanx Xin & terrapin for the updates. Reading that the brides here are really happy that you have chosen RH for AD.. could you pls share what are the reasons or plus points that make this venue a good choice?

Now,if i want to book for my AD there.. what are the things i need to find out from the co-ordinator b4 the confirmation? as for the no of tables..can i give an estimation? e.g: 15-25 tables? i also read that we have to negotiate for some stuffs like upgrading to something better or more things or whatsoever...any tips to share? thanx

Hi fairyshoemaker

we chose RH becoz of the royal n grand feel abt the hotel somemore the location quite good...

you can discuss with ur coordinator and see anything else you need to add beside those in the package...my coordinator put 20 to 25 tables for me and only need to confirm as the date get closer (mine is Jan 07).

as for bargain...think the package is quite comprehensive (except for corkage charges) so you have to decide if your guests are drinker or not if yes you really got to try your luck to bargain abit there....

Hi Fairyshoemaker

Same as xins, i chosed RH cos of the hotels tt i visited, liked it the most and was most comfy w the coordinator. So felt tt ease and feeling was pretty impt if I wanted a memorable time there..afterall we will prob have to make many trips down for the preparations so better like the place a lot alot! I tink same logic applies when i was choosing my BS too hehe

Hi Xins & Eline,

Thank you for yor reply. Choosing venue for the banquet is really not an essy task.. I have heard that the hotels take in reservations only 1 yr b4hand.. meaning if i am looking into next yr say.. September than it means i can only do the booking at this Sept?

Btw.. Is RH consider one of the higher end hotel for banquet? Want to be mentally prepared hee.. dunt wnat to get a shock with the final pricing after adding this & that for the dinner. If possible, could your advice on what are the high end hotels for the banquets?

Hi Fairyshoemaker

I think tt RH can accomodate bookings beyond 1 yr too. I would consider RH as a higher end hotel as the price is higher than the others like hyatt, marriot etc. Would say tt the other higher end ones are like ritz carlton, fullerton and maybe four seasons....=)

HI All

i am new to this thread, hoping to be a RH bride on end Dec 07, am thinking garden solemnisation in the Lawn and buffet dinner. Anyone having solemnisation in the Lawn?? Can share your pic with me??? Please send to [email protected]

Am hoping to get some theme idea of how the deco will be in the Lawn. Will be meeting Anges this Sun.

hi kierlola

I had a Lawn solem followed by a buffet dinner at EIR last year. It was a cosy and lovely affair. I'm very satisfied with the deco and attention given. If i can rember correctly; there are quite a few theme to choose from for the Lawn solem. Some of which require top-up and some dont. I guess the coordinator should be able to guide you along.

Hi there,
Im considering having a lawn solem followed by dinner at Raffles too. However quite worried about the quality and quantity of the Chinese sit down dinner there. Went to another renowned hotel for a wedding dinner 2 months back and the food quantity was really dismal...Found it shocking given that hotel and restaurant which served the food are considered one of the best. Now Im afraid it'll be the same at Raffles too. Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

Hi girls,
Am consider Raffles hotel too. Isst true that they only have 1 ballroom? What is the min table for that ballroom? Anyone have a pic of the ballroom to send me? Can share with me their wedding package too? Thanks alot!!

My email [email protected]

Hi Jenny,

There's only 1 Grand Ballroom but there are other smaller fuction rms tt r very nice.

Think the capacity for the ballroom is 260pax if I remembered correctly.

Hi all,

May I know if the corkage charges at RH is negotiable? Unlike some of the other hotels, unfortunately Raffles does not seem to have a special priced wine list for weddings.

Rgds

Hi laska, these 5 stars hotels are not very negotiable, esp Raffles. I din get anything extra for my wedding last year. But their package then was already very comprehensive, so there wasn't really a need to nego for more. Just that wine and corkage are very expensive.

<font color="119911">hi girls! I'm deciding between raffles hotel and hyatt, can someone advice me on which is better? Will raffles be able to give me corkage for free?</font>

Hiya, I'm not a raffles nor hyatt bride..but personally I prefer raffles..the ambience is better. I'm not sure about the perks though..=)

<font color="119911">thanks girls! You just helped me confirm my choice! Everyone I asked also said raffles over hyatt. A bit pricey but I just it's a once in a lifetime thing hor...

Who are your coordinators in raffles?</font>

yes bride.. no fight.. raffles is classy and grand.. i was deciding btw Raffles and Hyatt before. Hyatt was a much cheaper choice then. I chosed Raffles and I don't regret it.

<font color="119911">hi seval, when was your wedding?

Girls, I'm meeting up with the catering manager soon and I hope to negotiate for some perks. Please advise me if this is possible or if you have already tried:
1. free barrel of beer
2. alternate sashes for guests' chairs
3. waiver of corkage for wine and hard liquor</font>

hi bride, my wedding was last year. i'm not sure wat's their package now but I doubt you can get what you listed as they are not those who bargain. You could try though...
happy.gif

<font color="119911">oh... really ah... sad... even if corkage they don't give me can give cheaper? It's important for the look of the ballroom to be nice also, that's why I want the sashes...

Anyone knows of pauline, the senior manager? I'll be meeting her...</font>

<font color="119911">hey seval, did you have your wedding at the ballroom? do you have any pics to share with me? Would really appreciate it as I've never been to their ballroom. Thanks!
[email protected]</font>

<font color="119911">hey girls, wow... this thread is really silent
happy.gif
Hey Seval, I've spoken to Pauline and I did not manage to get the corkage waiver
happy.gif
Looks like you were right. Very difficult to negotiate for perks with them but we could tell the service is impeccable! The min we sat down, the waitress asked if we were waiting for someone. It's like they know we are lost
happy.gif

But anyway, we'll prob sign up with them</font>

Hi just curious.. may I know the per table price of RH for 2007 package on a sunday?

i emailed them long ago but they didnt reply my email

<font color="119911">Hi girls, I have the package for RH. Sunday is the same as Sat @ 938+++ for Classic Menu (8 dishes) and I THINK 1088+++ for Jubilee Menu (better menu la). We chose the cheaper one.

Good news for future RH Brides! Don't quote me... but my coordinator told me that Royal China is moving out so..... MAYBE Tung Lok will be moving in. Insider news. So those who are worried about the food quality, HOPEFULLY Tung Lok comes in then food will be good! Yay! Keeping my fingers crossed.</font>

That might not be good news... Personally, I find that Royal China's food is great, and I got the same comments from my relatives &amp; friends. The poor food quality issue happened before Royal China moved into RH.
