Will be going for food tasting this Tuesday!

When they say the wedding invitation card excludes inserts, means they will only give u the card and we have to go print the insert stating the details of the banquet and the map of the place ourselves?
 
moonprincess: Ya, only the cards are included. But for PJ, they're liaising with TDragon Printing and they do print inserts as well. So you can settle everything on the spot. The wordings,choosing of cartoon printouts and ribbons or strings must pay extra. But not too ex if you don't go for the special ones. =) I had mine for 200 inserts $120 i think.

My food tasting was ok. Not very happy with first dish. Other than that, the rest is quite up to my expectation

What first dish you have? I dun have fish inside my first dish...but the whole dish was super cold and presented in quite an unpresentable way I think. Wrote that in the feedback form which I returned to them on the same day as my food tasting. Hopefully they will do something about it.

Btw, have you selected songs to play during your banquet?

My first dish is shark fin i think..Shark fin is nice although my uncle say a bit salty..depend on person..

The fish only the sauce is nice...meat a bit rough..but i am not sure whether tjis type of fish taste this way..cos i seldom eat fish...and the one i ate is cod fish..hee hee

i only make remake in the feedback..hope they improve on it...the service is extremely gd..hahaha..feels very deliberate.

Nope..haven chose.. My coordinator sick so when i go food tasting is another person..but i did request to look at the song they will play. Its romance song in jazz ..
 
hey ladies. just had my banquet at PJ on the 17th oct.. jus to share some comments with you all.

same as many of you, the coordinator changed hands and we had many last minute checking (like to confirm our dishes and seating 3 days before?)

sighs.

gentle word of advice, don't do your makeup at the restaurant, if you wanna, you'd prob have to go down earlier, cause the lighting in that room makes it tough for the MUA.

as for the food, never been really pleased. n yes, the presentation of the fish isn't very nice..

i heard the guests only like the chicken or duck and the prawn..some said the fish is nice..

and pardon me, but i find the wine very dryyy.. not very pleasant to drink.

as for music, they want you to bring your own and it has to be from the original CD.. hubby n i went to source and buy for that evening...

would i recommend ppl to hold their banquet there, well, if u're not tt particular abt food and dont need so many tables, its still a reasonable option i guess. (:

What hotel they give you ? thinking whether should i do my make up at hotel then go down..

I know the wine is dry..but no choice also..unless buy my own + corkage add up to alot..very not worth it.

Check with you , how about projector ? is it too squeezy to set it up ? still thinking to have montage or not...

Do your both side family go up the stage to yum seng ? The stage look small..

if you wanna do it at peony jade, you'd prob shud be there ard 4.30 before the sun sets.. that was what my MUA asked for...

i honestly din notice that its too squeeze-y.. so i think you should go ahead to have the montage

Hmm the food becomes not nice le ah? I thought it is famous for nice food? My friends always say that when I mentioned my dinner going to be held in Peony Jade. Now I am worried that the dishes won't be up to expectation..

shanawawa (shanawawa) : They are pretty bad with followup...unless you really don't care, they will start calling you when the dates is near...I got to make the call to check when to let them know food tasting date etc etc...then i try the food already, also no call back at all..its been two weeks at least now..and my wedding is in Jan

The rest are nice.

Just pray AD is the same quality . That is most important.
 
Yea, booked already. My dinner is 12 December this year.

I went to taste the dishes in September. The shark fin was ok, they gave us quite a lot. I didn't like the first dish. The wine is also a bit dry but no choice cos want to save money on corkage fee.

My boss would sure nag abt the wine since he is wine lover..hahaha...but don't care..hahaha
 
i was at keppel bay peony jade for a wedding dinner in september.. the dishes are all very nice.. the fish also good ar...
 
Sigh I read the review for the Clarke Quay branch, seems to be getting from bad to worse...now super worried, esp friends kept praising the food there to the sky...
 
Hey girls.. I knew there were some negative feedback about the food.. come on.. wedding is not all about the food, there are so many things - wedding dress, deco, make-up, ambience of the place... etc. But do u know what is the most impt? The center of the whole wedding? Is YOU!

My experience through this wedding is that you can't control everything on that day. You can plan 101% and the coordinator and planner can guarantee you on everything, some things will still cope up.. but what to do? Reenact the whole wedding? Trust me.. the solution to this is to stay happy, be a happy bride and enjoy your day!

And food is really subjective. One can say good but the other say no. But I personally believe PJ's standard is there, though it may not be consistent, but it's there! After all, do you think your guest come just for food, yes maybe some, I am talking about those who truly come and celebrate your joyous occasion for you!

Just remember, you are the main center of attraction on that day, not the food or anything else.. BE A HAPPY BRIDE!!

So Don't worry so much ok. Do what you need..then go facial, medi,pedi and enjoy the whole process. Hee

... i got to agree.... its really B A D ...
I can have better ones even in hawker by some stalls who do that.

melody (melody8027) : Better check with them the dates.. the rates are available online i think...cos would depend on which set of menu you chose. The things are pretty standard .

Whatever you could ask..ask now..once sign its hard..
 
hi, does anyone have the map to PJ at Keppel Club, having my rom there in dec, tot of doing a invitation card for my guests? Appreciate so much.. thanks in advance ..
