Hi Jocester,

Today I found out why the UOB promo requires a $5k deposit through Serene fr OH. Apparently it's a regulation by UOB.. And I also asked her why some ppl mentioned tt their required deposit isn't the usual $3k, she clarified it's due to the no. of tables being over 45.. Prob makes sense?

I also took some pix of BR1 & 2 today. The couple used the western theme.. Shall upload then share with u & Starsky

btw, anyone have suggestions where i can buy nice ROM invitation cards? Found out that printing is quite expensive as I dont have a lot of cards... might have to DIY....

I heard they are planning to add salt n pepper shakers for next year. Hope they do. I'd think these make great n practical wedding favours!

Since u won't be around for the show, u might want to call & tell them of ur situation. In tt sense, they might be able to offer u the same perks if u're really keen?

Hi OH brides & those considering,

At this evening's meeting, I decided on the wedding favours. Getting couple-keychains in 2 versions, one's more western looking & the other in traditional Chinese costumes of a bride & groom. Intending to alternate this wedding favour for a table of 10.

New wedding favours include a mini photo-frame, wedding bear magnet, wedding couple magnet & the chinese couple keychain which I chose. Not sure if the rose-bud tea in a test tube is new anot.

Some other wedding favours inc a mini teddybear & a couple handphone accessory

Waiting for the big day ah? Not really also, still have some loose ends to tie up. Have settled the selection of songs, but gotta label the CDs & the right tracks for whichever purposes they serve.

OH doesn't encourage use of burned CDs whether fr original CD or MP3 format. Better/safer to bring in the original CDs

RSVPs & table arrangement still has to be done & prob all the way till the AD itself becoz of last min changes.
Stuff with the BS is quite settled.. Phew! Going to select the bouquet & car deco tm. It's more of the logistics to inform our helpers & passing whatever stuff tt can be handled by them..

The key thing is to delegate so tt the big day wld be fuss-free for FH & myself..

Excited but anxious too... Argh!
 
Oh, no burned CD? Wldn't it be dangerous if they played the wrong song? Is it ok to share with me on the songs you have selected? How's your march in going to be like? I'm thinking of marching separately for mine, i.e. my FH 1 end, and me on the other. Then we'll meet at the centre before walking towards the stage.

Yupz, it shld be a fuss free day for the couple on the AD.

There wld be a meeting for the couple, ur coordinator, banquet manager & the AV technician abt 5-6pm before the banquet itself. During tt meeting, there wld be a mini rehearsal of the songs for 1st, 2nd march-in, 1st dish presentation & champagne pouring.. So in tt sense, it is supposed to pre-empt any mistakes. I think even with the burnt CD, the wrong track might still be played.. Gotta label the various CDs very clearly & communicate to the AV technician very clearly too..

Are u using Ballroom 1 & 2 or BR 3? If it's the 1st, quite hard for seperate entrances, coz there's only 1 entrance for the L-shaped red carpet. If it's the latter, there's also only 1 entrance if I'm not mistaken..

Can play ard with ur options on the layout when closer to the AD & when u meet ur coordinator to sort out such stuff k?

Yah, me using BR 1&2. Was thinking I would walk on the L-shape red carpet and my FH will walk in from the opposite without any carpet... Hehe...

Well, we'll have to talk to the coordinator and see how...

Not quite sure wats the diff btw pkg 2005 & 2006. U mean they hv up the price for next year? For me they honour me the 05 price even though my AD is next year. Plus bcos there is a UOB card promo, i've got a fairly gd deal.

Why not wait till the rdshow, or call them 2wks prior the show? They should be able to tell u the perks u'll be getting.

the perks are diff...2005 there is free flow of beers and nett price is much lower...as mine is on a weekend so it is quite ex and esp those perks i dun really need it...so still considering..

Jocester...when is ur wedding date? You are lucky... =)
 
yup mehmeh the haze is really bad yah. or maybe the haze will be cleared by then? but prepare an alternative itinerary just in case.

Just today the haze has seemed to have cleared, so shall wait & see this week. If it sustains, I prob might still continue...

thks 4 ur info. dun think we'll b considering orchard hotel anymore. my HTB thinks it's too old n for a wknd dinner, quite ex. narrowed down to 2 choices nw. will decide by tis wk. *keeping my fingers crossed.*
