Annie,

Janet is really good. She gave a lot of guidance and even helped booked JP for us! No issue with missing appointments or unclear pricing.

See a great deal of effort as a wedding planner. I'm so confident my dinner is in safe hands!

Try establishing another meeting with her. I'm sure you wun regret.

Hi Ladies..

just wondering can anyone shares with me the wedding packages offered by One Rochester? and how much is it to book the whole place? Can we cater our own caterer for the event?
Please PM me to my email: [email protected]

Jenny,

Lunch, high tea or dinner? Prices varies. 80, 100 and 120 respectively subjected to 10% service charge, 7% GST.

Check on the caterer with Janet. I'm sure she can work out something with you.

I attended the bridal fair the group held on 4 April at 1 rochester and signed up with them before reading all the comments here.

Now I am quite concerned with the food quality. Can anyone who had their wedding with the 1 rochester group share their experience?

I am wondering if they have the same chef/ buffet people as a friend recently attended wedding dinner buffet at 1 Twenty-six and mentioned food ok only and some food were gone by the time she reached the table in a queue!

Thanks

hi pei fang,

it's hard to compare the package here for onerochester.. as they work in a way where they charge on per head style and depends on what kind of menu u are looking for, what type of drink u want to serve, be it afternoon or night solemnisation, minimum number of guests, etc...

i can only say the range starts from S$80++ onwards...

Hi

For 1 rochester, any minimum pax or revenue to book up the whole place? If anyone of you have the proposal or price plan, appreciate if you can email me at [email protected]. Thanks!

whyy: You mentioned you have signed with 1 rochester. Can you share the perks/freebies they throw in? You can email me at [email protected]. Thanks!

Hi Trinity,

I can't remember exactly but I think it will be min. $18,000 of spending to book up the whole place for dinner event. For me it's easy as I wanted a lunch event so Saturday is free to book the whole venue as they do not open for normal business. They have Sunday brunch so Sunday is still considerd normal working afternoon.

The extra perks given during the bridal fair was extra credits for spending. But you will need to negotiate with the planner directly, on your requirements and they will see how to fit into your budget.

generally what Angeline says for the pricing holds. $80 for tea, $100 for lunch, $120 for dinner, subjected to 10% service & 7%GST. I can send you the bridal fair packages. Usually includes real wedding cake, drinks, wine/beer, flower deco etc

Hi shoegirl,

I booked my wedding for 1 rochester at their fair in april. Not sure if they will have anymore this year as its peak season now. They have a new venue called 1 Attitude now. Nice if you want a city skyline instead of a garden setting.

I will post some photos of the April bridal fair as I previously promised Trinity to do it but gotten too busy for the wedding. ;)

When I first signed up, I didn't know the standard buffet wedding arrangement was only with their existing lounge chairs/standing space for guests.

We managed to work with the wedding planner to change all to sitting down table arrangement and indivdual seats at no additional costs. We also change to communal dining style as well so it's more cosy and less as a typical buffet.

Hi!
I am looking for a venue that can hold about 250-300 guests. Buffet style but all the guests need to have their allocated seats, enough space for small stage/dance floor, also space to bring in vespa.

Can advise whether one rochester will be suitable? I cant seem to find enough photos to look at the overall place.

thank you for your help.

Hi malibu,

One Rochester might not be able to house that number of guests at once.
Suggest that you make a trip down to the venue to assess its suitability.

Hi Malibu

I've booked One Rochester for my wedding, and honestly, seems like it can fit just about 200 guests comfortably. Anything more than that will see your guests spilling out onto the car park!

What more with a stage, assigned seating and a vespa!

But I agree with Shu Yen.. best if you go down to the place itself, see for yourself and speak with Janet.

Good luck!

mine on sunday... i bought the package in 2009... but utilised it in jan 2011. so i guess i got a pretty good bargain on the price then... it's S$130 nett per pax... i understand now it can be S$150 per pax for 2011 quotation...

but trust me, it's worth if you are looking for outdoor setting and that u have little bit more budget...
happy.gif

the menu they proposed to me are infusion type... with mixture of japanese and chinese food... very nice!

and the planners are very nice to talk to... always very accomodating to my need and request... for some of the additional things i requested, they did give me a quote.. but to my surprise on my AD when i foot the final bill, they offset all the additional cost... so im still back to S$130 per pax! great, isnt it??

the only thing i would advise from my experience is......keep your guests number small... best is around 150 pax. i have more than 200, it's pretty "messy" that night cos surprisingly everyone reach before 7pm to witness our solemnisation. a bit lost control cos my mind is blank upon seeing the crowds and that i dun really have much time to chat with every individual guests...

my view~

My husband and I feel that the worst wedding banquet that we have been to so far was one at 1 Twenty-Six.

The food was not enough even though it was a buffet. The service was very bad. There was insufficient cutlery and plates/bowls on the buffet table. My husband went to the buffet table twice and couldn't find cutlery. The service staff was oblivious of the situation. The guests at the VIP table had a very unpleasant experience too.

Knowing the cost of the banquet, it was certainly way below expectations.

What a disaster!

I heard from the couple that the management was not apologetic and even blamed the guests for eating too much when the couple informed them that most of the guests felt that the food was not enough.

Hi there,

We had our lunch wedding on 2nd Oct.

We are glad we choose One Rochester as our wedding venue.

At first the coordinator was Janet, after negotiating and confirming the quote, we were handed over to another coordinator, Wendy Too. She is equally professional and rather helpful. The food tasting went very well, we sat down with Wendy to go through the decoration, food menu, our concern etc. We kinda confirmed most of the stuffs on that day. But eventually, I kept changing my mind and indecisive towards the floral decor, the seating arrangement and wedding band etc until the final last 2 weeks of the wedding. She is very patient and gave us some good advices and suggestion.

Our guests gave us very good feedback on the food and the servicing staffs are friendly and professional.
We had a small wedding of 70 guests, everyone of them gets their attention and well served.

Don't expect an extra perks, they are unlike hotel banquet. Talk to the coordinator and discuss with them your expectations and work it out that's within your budget.

I am still waiting for the photographer to send me the photos, but you can check out some of them from the wedding band site that we've engaged - Love Me Knot, they are awesome! Two thumbs up!

Hope these information helps.

Would like to enquiry on a wedding event held in One Rochester. Do we need to get a wedding planner to enage in the coordination with One Rochester?
Do we need to find outside caterer for the food or it can be provided by One Rochester and what kind of menu if it can be provided?
And how will the charges be like?

Hi ladies!

Anyone had a wedding dinner with very small crowd? like only around 50 guests?
