Master David Tong's Advice Corner (Geomancy and Fengshui)

Hi Vivian Lim

That is a general tong shu good date for wedding. It doesn't clash to any of you (clash to Monkey).

Note that both your Bazi is not taken into consideration yet.

Thanks David for the enlightenment, learnt quite a lot of new things

Hi Master Tong,
thank you so much.
May I know when will the Tong Shu be out ?
If we wish to consult you regarding the wedding date, how much do you charge ?

Regards,

Hi Master Tong!

I'm wondering if 16 Nov 2010 is ok for our customary wedding (to be held with solemnisation):

Groom : Dragon (Nov 1976)
Groom's Dad : Horse (Dec 1930)
Groom's Mum : Pig (Jan 1948)

Bride : Ox (Mar 1985)
Bride's Dad : Tiger (Oct 1950)
Bride's Mum : Dragon (Mar 1952)

Please advise. Thanks!!

Hi Master Tong,

Need your advice.
I will be holding my actual day wedding and tea ceremony etc on 5th Dec 09, Sat.
I'm born in the year of "Mouse" 1984 while my hubby is born in the year of "Dog" 1982.
What are the animal sign that can help to open car door for my hubby?? I'm intending to ask my younger cousin to open
for us, he is born in the year of "Monkey", i think is in the year 1993.

Cassabelle
Many thanks

Hi Lim SK,

Here are some dates you can use:

- 01/12, 06/12, 18/12, 30/12, 06/01, 12/01, 18/01, 30/01

Note that Bazi is not taken into consideration. These are general dates only. Hope this helps

Hi Moon moon,

Here are some 'general' dates you can use for your ROM:

- 01/12, 06/12, 11/12, 13/12, 19/12, 25/12, 31/12, 11/01, 20/01, 23/01,

Note that Bazi is not taken into consideration yet and a good date in the tong shu can still be deemed a bad day if the date is not compatible with both your Bazi. Hope this helps

Hi princess,

That day will clash with Tiger. So long as the little boy is not born in year of the Tiger, anyone with any other signs will do .

Hope this helps

Hi Master Tong

My friend is getting married 2 mths after mine. Can he attend my wedding?
How about pregnant ladies, can they attend weddings as well?

Dear Master Tong,
Is there a thing such as it's not good to get married in the middle of the year like in May or June? If the couple use their Bazi to calculate the wedding dates in June, will it be alright?
Thanks

Hi Master Tong,

Thanks for the updates. Due to the hotel availability, I have to choose 23th Jan 2011 as my wedding day. Will it be a big issue, can my bro born of tiger open the door.

Groom : Dog (Dec 1982)
Groom's Dad : Goat (1955)
Groom's Mum : Horse (1954)

Bride : Pig (March 1983)
Bride's Dad : Mouse (1960)
Bride's Mum : Dragon (1964)

Hi csd185,

Normally 3 months before and after your wedding, you cannot attend other people's weddings, funerals, wakes and childbirth.

If other people who are getting married wants to attend yours, not a problem. Their luck will be clashed, not yours. So long as you don't attend others, you will be safe.

Pregnant ladies, according to chinese superstitions, should not attend wedding as well.

Hi moon moon,

That is not a general tong shu good day for wedding.

p/s: Pls repost your info again in your next post coz it gets archived up and takes a long time for me to find your info sometimes. Thanks

Hi Monica,

That is pure superstion that you can safely ignore. That is no logic or basis in this superstition. You can get married in May/June period, not to worry.

Hi Lim SK,

that is not really an ideal date for wedding if going by tong shu method. But it is not a bad day that 100% cannot be used.

Yes your bro can open the car door. Only those born in year of monkey cannot as this day clashes to Monkey.

Hope this helps

Thank you so much Master Tong! I'm so glad you have clarified my doubts.
I've another question, is it really better if chinese were to choose even months of the chinese lunar calender to get married? If they still use their Bazi to calculate a good date but it doesn't fall on an even month of the chinese lunar calender, does it matter?

Hi Master Tong,

Thanks for your prompt reply.
I heard that Qing Ming will usually last for a few weeks. Is that is the case, when will Qing Ming ends in Year 2010?

Dear Master Tong,

Can I know if 15th Jan 2011 is good date for ROM and which friday or saturaday in Nov/Dec 2011 is a good date for customary?

Groom : Dog
Groom's Dad : Monkey
Groom's Mum : Goat
Groom's Grandfather: Dog
Groom's Grandmother: Chicken

Bride : Dog (Jan 1983)
Bride's Dad : Rat (Deceased)
Bride's Mum : Rabbit

Thanks for your help in advance!

Hi Monica,

You can use both even and odd months. Using just the even months and avoid the odd months is just another Chinese superstition

Not to worry. There is no such "rule" in authentic date selection techniques

Hi vitamincc18,

Normally Qing Ming falls onto the lunar 3rd month. In 2010, lunar 3rd month starts on 14th April - 13th May. Some elderly will prefer to avoid the whole 3rd lunar month. However, the actual Qing Ming day is on the 5th April in 2010.

Hope this helps

Hi Lala,

That day is a general tong shu good day for wedding. It clash to Rat and since the bride's dad is deceased, it is no longer necessary to take this into consideration. Hence you can use this day if you are looking at just a general good day (note that Bazi is not taken into consideration yet).

Btw, Grandparents's details are not required nor taken into consideration.

Hope this helps

Hi Master Tong,
I really must thank you for choosing those auspicious date for us!
happy.gif
I tell you the reason in pm...

BTW can i side line ask u something about house fengshui? I am thinking whether should i get a NEW flat or RESALE flat...n you know i am so particular about house fengshui so if I buy NEW flat...those BTO kind, you wont get to know the directions until it is built...and it will be too late if the direction is not good cos usually you select the unit first. And I prefer new flat cos I will not need to do major reno also....so advice pls? :P thru email also can...
Not urgent...just reply when u r free... :D Have a nice week ahead! :P

Hi Gin,

My pm doesn't seem to work out well haha. So it will be good if you can email me directly. I am curious to find out about the auspicious dates thingy
happy.gif

As for feng shui of house, from a classical feng shui perspective, it will be better to buy resale coz at least you can choose to make sure the flat is good before you buy. If you go for BTO, you cannot tell the feng shui accurately until it is built and completed, and if it happens to be bad, and depending on how bad it is, it may not always be salvageable.

Hope this helps

Dear Master Tong,

Sorry to bother you again. My fiance and I are looking for alternative wedding dates (Saturdays) for November 2010. Also, what time would be auspicious (8:30AM, 9:30AM or 2PM) Here are the info:

Groom : Monkey (Oct 1980)
Groom's Dad : Tiger
Groom's Mom : Horse

Bride : Rooster (Feb 1981)
Bride's Dad : Snake
Bride's Mom : Rooster

Thanks again!

Hi Master Tong,

I need your advise again. We have already set our wedding date to be on the 25 Sept 2010.
However, my mom was just told by the temple where we will have our ceremony that this wedding date is inauspicious. She mentioned something about the date being a 'sam sui' day (in hokkien). That has really put my mom off and she demands us to change date eventhough we have already booked the venue!

My mom said the temple calculation is based on the Tong Shu. I am wondering if you could give us any explanation to convince my mom that it's not inauspicious?

Thanks in advance..

Cheers,
Lara
