Marina Mandarin Singapore

Hi all

Me met up with the coordinator this morning, had a look at the grand ballroom and the bridal suites. Really have to say that their service is good and the ballroom looks great except for:

- Low ceiling at 4m, with the chandelier, it actually looks lower
- Short march in as the ballroom is horzontally elongated, anyone knows how long is the marching-in in terms of minutes?

Other than that, the backdrop is really quite class and special, i must say! I like the reception foyer as well as the enclosed feeling within the hotel. They are also able to provide me the solemnisation room one day before my banquet! Menu is flexible too! Many good and flexible perks. Only thing is the short march-in. Anyone have comments on the march-in? How to enhance on a short march-in?

Anyone have any feedback on the food as well since it is not from peach blossoms?

welcome to the club, melissat

looking forward to my AD on 20 Mar 10. Any more couples who had the same AD in MM?

Dear all,

I just had my wedding at MM Grand Ballroom on 15th May 2009. Overall, I can tell you it was fantastic. MM handled the whole event very well and I have no worries at all. They are always around asking if you need a drink. I feel so pampered.

Lilian, I can ensure you that the short march-in was not an issue at all, especially if you have a gown with long train, you wouldn't want to have a long march-in. All you need to do is just march-in slowly, look up and enjoy the moments. I took almost 2 minutes to 3 to finish my march-in. The banquet manager will brief you before you march-in ensuring that everything is okay.

The food was good, no complaints from my guests.

Really, would like thank all MM staffs who helped out in my wedding and special thanks to Mr How, my banquet manager, Fenny, my wedding ambassador, Joreen, my catering manager and not forgetting Sen, my first catering manager who gave me the feeling of "I want to my wedding here".

Ladies, be rest assured, MM will handle your wedding with no worries. You have made the right choice choosing MM for your wedding!

Wow!! Thks ladies!

Seems like a lot of positive feedback on MM.

And looks like the time of march-in can vary from 0.75 min to 2min depending on how fast you walk..=)

Another question, their themes. The coordinator only show 2 themes to me and they seem rather boring.. not much specialty or creativity. Anyone had their wedding there before and can share their pictures?

Evy: What was your theme? How many tables do you have?

I'm happy with MM's set up on the tables... & the overall ambience is good...
Only thing I don't like is their set up on the stage... think it's kinda of old fashion and can say quite boring...
I really like the wall panelling at the back of the stage. Most likely, I will request them not to have the stage setup and leave it plain. And get my JMs to do something for the backdrop if possible... sounds like a lot of work... so maybe i'll give up when the time is near... haha...

Iris - Wahahahahh..

As u can see there isn't much to talk about for MM reason being, they are good in arrranging weddings given to them and their food, ambience, location and all is good!

For the aisle, u might think it's too short but u can walk slowllyyyyy.. at ur pace!!!~

Lilian: my theme is crystal theme but I didn't take totally the entire theme. I mixed and match.

As for photos, I'm still waiting for my photographer to give me. Not sure if he took any shots on the ballroom.

I just spoke to my coordinator 2 to 3 weeks back...
she say no matter what theme we choose, we change change the colour of the flowers...
so like if we take the crytal theme... we can take red or white or yellow (or any other colour) flowers...
sounds very flexible...
so quite happy with that la...

Anyone manage to negotiate less tables for weekdays dinner? Say reducing from min 35 tables to 33 tables? Are they flexible in terms of this?

Hi Ms bride

When did you book your wedding? During the recent wedding workshop in April 09? I tried to negotiate but the coordinator was not able to obliged, not even a table less to 34. Btw my date is 11 Oct 2009 Monday Grand Ballroom as well.

Also when is your wedding? I believe weddings held this year will have a better bargaining power.

What was the rate you pay per table?

hi all, i got a very good package as my dad know the head chef from the banquet actually. i really didn't nego much.

i did upgrade my menu & some freebies

my wedding date is on 11th jan 2010 monday

i'm paying $858nett per tables

mornin mornin

... yeah they do

... but just remember to tell ur coordinator you want to use the piano and she can make the arrangement, if it is still available :D

Hi SJL, i am also considering holding my banquet there next year. i heard from my friend that it is about $1088 per table for wkend. How much were you quoted?

Virtual : I Got e Quote From e List Of 1138 Nett.
1088 Could B During 7th Mth Price Coz Lesser Ppl Ll Hold Their Weddings Then? Prob A Gd Idea TO Chk Out e T&C Of This Price

Its In e Top 3 Consideration Coz I Do Need A Grand Piano In Ballroom. Prev My Pref Choice Was Mand Oriental But The Max Capacity Was Only 40. 36 After Bringing In Grand Piano
=(

chocolate: MM does provide a few theme which you can choose from. I mixed my theme.

Kodomo_Concert: The balloon setup was done complimentary by my hubby's friend hence I don't know where he got the balloons from.

Hi,

I am also having my wedding dinner at MM Vanda ballroom. Took some pics during wedding show, not sure if these are the updates items.

Hi all,
I have always been a slient reader here and have taken some advise as posted here. My wedding went very smoothly on 7Jun2009. All thanks to Wendy (co-ordinator) and Mr How (Banquet Manager). Mr How has taken care of every detail for the wedding dinner and very "xi xing" throughout the dinner. Mr How GOOD JOB DONE.
My guests mentioned that the food was great and the timing of the wedding event was just right as the wedding ended at about 1030pm.
I have never regretted choosing MM to hold my wedding banquet dinner. Cheers MM ;)

I am considering MM as a possible wedding banquet location. I like to have some feedback on Vanda Ballroom and the coordinator Fiona. How low is the ceiling in Vanda Ballroom? How do u all find Fiona? Is she that busy to meet up?

Hi Wei Ying,

You can look for Kaylynn if you want to! Kaylynn can also help you! For teh check of ceiling, i think is better for you to arrange a meet-up with them to see the ballroom and at the same time discuss more details wif them before deciding!!!

Isa ::: Hmm.. I did manage to talk to Kaylynn on Tuesday! Maybe u wanna try calling up at now and then, who knows, u can actually get her! U're still considering MM as a venue or had placed deposit? I'm going to MM later on. Who's going too?
