March-in song

Any suggestions/advice on how long the march-in song should be or how long it should be before it reached the chorus?

My htb loves "Stand by me" by Florence + The Machine and we're hoping to use it as one of our march-in songs, but it is a little slow and the chorus doesnt come in till around a little later. And our aisle isnt very long (Peony Jade @ Keppel Club)

Is it ok to let it continue playing into and during the cake-cutting ceremony?

I had the same dilemma as well but my cousin assure me that the song would pretty much overwhelm by applause from the guest. :>

Thanks!! just had our wedding last Saturday! We let the music play into the cake-cutting ceremony. It went really well!
