Mandarin Oriental Singapore

i do have some pics from last yr's wedding show on the 4 themes.. pm me if u gals wan to take a look..

i used love n garden theme in the garden suite.. will be able to show u gals some pics soon..

hi mintz that would be great, i'm asking from waxie in the meantime so should be ok. i'm going to have the dinner in garden suite too.

reinn> i went to look at the themes at the atrium suites (no need to pay) n to pay deposit for my event at last year's wedding show...

if u bought tickets, you'll be served lunch (a very good time to sample their food), bridal fashion show, lucky draws, and if possible, the coordinators will bring u around the hotel to take a look..

Hi Reinn,

could you send me some pics which you mentioned on the theme esp the dream theme.

I went down to take a look at two weddings today, saw the love theme which my boyfrd dont really like. say too plain but worried dream theme (black and silver) will look dark when taking table shots. Was thinking if we could a combination of the themes (eg. love + dream).

Cheers,
Shannon

Hi Waxie,
Did you get an additional 1Day Anniversary stay? I request from my co-ordinator but he said next year onwards no more anniversary stay.. And printing of wedding cards is not included.. Can you share ur package with me? I will be signing up next week. Not sure what other things I can request from them. Thanks for sharing.

hi Na2, you did not activate ur pm... why dun u email me @ waxie24(at)yahoo.com.sg... I did not have the additional anniversary stay.. invitation cards was provided by oriental (we jus need to print the inserts)..

Hi all,
I was informed by Oriental's coordinator that i would need to make a 50% payment 1month before the banquet on top of the 5K deposit. And balance after the dinner. Is that a must? Cos other hotels advised that i can pay the balance upon check out.

Hi Nicole,

Who was ur coordinator? I guess you can stil neg to pay all the balance after your banquet (when u check out).

Cheers.

Hi Na2,

What options did you opt out to get the anniversary stay? For the printing of inserts, mine is not included as well. I guess for most others is the same too.

Anyone using li'art for insert printing? I felt it was quite exp thou? Any comments?

Cheers.

hi waxie,Kaiztar,
I dint get the anniversary stay. they said next year onwards no more even for other hotels. my SIL get free printing but hers was Marriot.
Hi Nicole,
they also tell me 50% payment 1 month before the banquet on top of the 5K deposit. which i find it very tight for the couples.

waxie, my email add: [email protected]

nehoc, i dun dare to post pics (with ppl) online now.. cos hubby wans privacy..

Kai, i did a comparison of price.. the price is same compared to T-Dragon or Focal Ad (of cos JB will be cheapest)

Nicole, i paid 5K deposit and settle payment during checkout.. we paid via cc, but we see no diff paying now n later, afterall we still able settle the bill at the end of the bill cycle.

Hi Kai Starz, Na2, waxie,
Thanks for the advice. My coordinator is Bethany.. She seems kinda rigid in giving perks though.. Can i know wat your package offers to make a quick comparison? my email is [email protected]
Thanks!

Nicole,
You can settle it upon checkout.

Waxie,
No worries..

Reinn,
Go search at the top 2 lastest archives should be able to find.

hi i used lil'art as my printer and their printing is realli good.
happy.gif
the size of the insert fits perfectly into the card which i think is very impt.

my only comment on lil'art is that they were too inflexible on making the arrangements to send the inserts to oriental... aka bad service

cyc, i was told to collect my invites (not printing) at oriental after Wednesdays becos lil'art does delivery to them on Wednesday.. coincidentally, they deliver the same day to another nearby hotel too..

can to share what happen? my friend's feedback of them was quite good.

hi waxie,
Thanks for your email. I've got package. Will be going down this sunday to take a look and confirm if signing.

hi nicole.
I will only sign up this sunday.

hi everyone..

i was at oriental's wedding show.. seen the 4 themes.. tasted some food.. must agree.. the food there is good. my bf is happy with the garden suite where we supposed to hold our 120pax wedding luncheon.. but my concern is the room is 'L' shape. will it be too 'unglam' for the match-in, and also block some tables from the stage view?

we are supposed to sign the contract this weekend.. can you good people please please give me some suggestions and share your opinions? thank you v much!

Hi Na2,
I decide not to go with Oriental le.. cos find tat the coordinator is too rigid by their "rules and regulations".. But nonetheless, i hope you have a wonderful time planning your BIG day ahead ya! ;)

Hi nehoc,
Thanks! Ive found a better one after Oriental.. At least 1 we can click with at Fullerton

Guess imptly for us is chemistry with the coordinator. I wun wan to pull my hair out in frustration when talking to my coordinator ;)

Hi Rain,
The coordinator tat attended to us is Bethany. Personally, she is a nice and patient lady but we find her too rigid when it comes to the arrangements and planning of our wedding during our conversation with her.

cheers

hi janice,

i'm sharing your concern on the garden suite.. have actually booked it for my dinner next year but after talking to the staff during the wedding show, i'm starting to think about changing my event to the atrium suite instead.

don't think the stage view will be blocked as the stage will be set directly opposite the door closest to the garden suite entrance. the march-in will be very short though. according to the staff attending to us, if there's more than 10 tables, march-in will be direct via the door opposite the stage. less than 10 steps and you will be on the stage.

perhaps the ladies who had held their event at the garden suite can share more info?

Hi,
Can anyone advice which dessert is better? Can really tell what is it by the dish name.

1) Double Happiness Manjari Chocolate Mousse with Chocolate Jelly and Mango
2) Sweet Passion Passion Fruit Cream with Crispy Swirl, Raspberry Compote and Pistachio Tuile
3) The Bliss Seasonal Fruit Salad in Spiced Syrup and Coconut Sherbet
4) Everlasting Cheng Tng Jelly with Biscotti

Hi Mintz, how did the bridal show go? I'm still undecided on the themes just based on photos so I hope that when I go back to Singapore next Jan I'll get to see some of the table settings. My parents went for the show and they are trying to send some photos to me.
We are definitely sticking with the garden suite as we are not inviting that many ppl. Probably about 120, so to go with the Atrium means that we need to meet the min of 15 tables. I have to say I saw the atrium suite in August when I was back for a holiday and it was quite nice but felt a bit cold esp if not enough tables.

Christina,
We go for the The Bliss Seasonal Fruit Salad in Spiced Syrup and Coconut Sherbet the review was not bad from our guests
