I think SIA 4-to-go promo is the cheapest liao.... dun think Zuji go cheaper rates though.... anyway, u can't really save much on the SQ flights. Try to think of ways in saving more from the resort stay instead. Dec is really a peak and expensive season....can be up to 3X more ex in some resort. Where are u planning to go?

no problem at all....but do keep in mind that the rates that I gave you is based on the current rates, i.e. shoulder period. Dec and JAn are peak period and will definitely cost more. Some resort rates at around end Jan is consider shoulder period, and some still charge at peak season rates. Do check out with them 1st.

There are flights in the morning, but most of them flew in from Europe. I think Sri Lanka Air do fly in from Columbo in the morning but.....I would rather skip that airline. Recently heavy fighting between govt troops and Tamil tiger near Columbo.

Actually u think of this.... late nite flight isn't that bad. If you can ask for a early transfer to the resort in the morning, u gain early check in. I did a 9am morning check in last year in Mirihi Maldives, n a free Breakfast. Normal check in hours shld be around 1pm. However, if u intend to stay in those resort nearby Male, try not to choose for arrival day check in, becos you'll check in around 11pm ~ 12am(SQ reach Male ard 10pm), and that consider 1 nite(travel agent will arrange for that).
I would rather stay 1 nite in cheap hotel in Male, and check in next morning..... better and worth it isn't it!

yes I went and back from maldives. Had a great time there idling but diving sucks though

Kiki fyi, maldives will only be cheap from may onward becos their rainy is coming. if you are lucky you still get sunshine. For us we went in may and we are very lucky cos the week we went it is sunny throughout our stay and it is only on the last day when we are flying back, the weather turned for the worst, strong wind and rain

the things like toiletries r not cheap in JB leh... check them out before... seems almost same price but the the kid's wear is cheaper. Hee...we go in JB every alternate weekend to visit my in-laws unless hubby got things to attend to.... but for me, I won't be going in after August liao... cos my green light to travel is only till end aug. jamu is a kind of herb. Hmmm..smell wise think like those traditional chinese med... can't describe....maybe u pop by this jamu shop in jurong point at 3rd level n see if u can 'tahan' the smell. =) Whether is for ok fo rsensitive skin...I guess should be ok bah... cos alot of post natal ladies use jamu to do their treatments.

hee... me very cheap skate... I didn't buy alot of bb clothes cos alot of people adviced me not to get too many as bb will outgrow it very fast..... so I'm kinda of getting only one bodysuit...but I've got abt 4-5 tops to run along...

Actually i think the JL nursery sale is on till 19th noe..only storewide less 20% till last Sun. U can call JL and check if you are really keen to buy the sterliser.

4-5 tops plus 1 bodysuit enuff? I am told babies may puke milk quite often and may need to change 2-3 times a day at least. I am thinking 1st 3 mths jus buy those very normal, not ex kind, cos they outgrow them real fast...but dunno how many to buy leh..

i think starstar is right,no need to get too many. my sister had quite a lot of bodysuits and my nephew outgrew it really quick. and you can expect quite a lot of gifts of which some normally incl clothes and stuff.

speaking of baby clothes, i saw that there are detergent specially for babies clothes. do you use it too? i think it smells quite nice!

me haven book my post natal treatments lah...cos me still deciding which one to take up. It's good to book early esp u going for those popular ones.... for me, no rush...cos the 2 ladies I'm deciding still still got slots for me. keke...but I'll decide most prob next week cos getting one of them to come to my house to do a pre natal massage for me..so I can see how pro is she... after which I'll decide. u have anyone in mind?

the treatments u do is actually to help your uterus to regain back to the original size faster.... also the treatments can help to let u relax better esp after delivery. It'll be better to do it a few days after u give birth.... this is what I know after talking to a few ladies who's done the treatments.

kiddo clothes not getting alot cos like what haru mention, others will definitely buy for your kid one... my sis already mention she's planing to get some after he's born. =)

getting very tired these days....*yawn*.... t&p, u still in your 2nd tri right?

i noe pple tend to buy clothes for baby...but i am a clothes shopoholic...b.w me and hb, we have filled up our 2 wardrobes at home, which works out to be around 18-19 feet size wardrobe. I need to clear my stuff soon so can make way for baby's stuff.
i am jus wondering how many is enuff cos there r pple who told me baby will puke milk then need to change 2-3 times a day. So far, i have only joined online spree to buy 4 rompers, but all from 3 mths onwards to 12mths cos it's easier to wear when baby's head is stronger. For newborn clothes, i think will wait till last trimester, see if baby is big size or average then decide.

Re: Jamu - i try liao then can feedback la...definately not eating any Jamu (got Jamu that is meant for eating one) - only using them externally... my therapist said she will use Jamu w Lemon Grass oil - sounded ok to me

i bot about 4-5 sets of plain white wear-at-home BB tops and bottoms from JL (each abt $3-$6)
I got abt 4-5 bodysuits + tees and shorts + jumper from Old Navy, Taka, OG etc - the nicer ones i reserve for gog out - the plainer ones i will use for home lor
Got a bag of hand me downs from my SIL in assorted sizes so i will use those as well. She passed me afew sleepsuits - too big for newborns but wil be useful when he is >6mths

already washed all of them liao - the folding and sorting took so long - so many small small pieces
but all soooo cute. Sometimes i wil imagine my bb in them and go Owwww to myself...husb used to it liao - hahha

Haru: there are only afew bb detergent brands in the market (the commercial not so exp type)
bot Kodomo for my BB - smells like the Kodomo BB powder lor but smell doesnt linger on the clothes le...guess its v mild thatz why
i didnt use softener cos i guess no need and dunno if bb will hv super sensitive skin - like mummy
your sis is a mummy liao - am sure u will get alot of BF tips from her - did she BF like zhuzhu as well?

re: BF: Ive heard of certain BBs who simply refuse to latch no matter what and some will chew mummy until she bleeds
im praying that my darling will be a guaiguai BB who will latch and suckle well...if worse comes to worse (touchwood!) i will feed him expressed BM from bottle.

my EDD is on 9/9/07 but am taking 4 days normal leave from 4/9. Actual ML starts from 10/9

need the rest man...not so garang like Zhuzhu who can still work till she pops man!

T and P: Keep your eyes peeled when u are at Taka BB fair ok - sometimes the cute Jap bb clothes got good discounts

u r so farney..i am also very vain, it's ok. I am just worried the good masseurs are fully booked for Dec, so thinking if it's ok to do the massages and wraps a bit later. Seems like not a very good idea..so maybe I shld go ahead and book first after all. I have shortlisted Mdm Rokiah, just email her with some enquires, waiting for her to reply. I like lemon grass, so hopefull the jamu herbs with that will be ok for me!

Which resort did u went to? My memory tells me it's 4 season issit?
Why is the diving bad? hmmm.... around that timeframe it shld hv been the whaleshark migration period...did u have the chance to see any?

My dive at Hilton area was pretty alright, bad thing is the strong current & water clarity not that fantastic during July period....but definitely more sharks, turtles and other species of fishes as compare to Malaysia water.

Hope to go there again... and maybe this time round around Jan~Feb timeframe. Was told that this is the best period for dive in Maldives.

First... I'll have to save up for the trip.....Sianzzzzz....

Yes, We went island hopping, 1st to Kurmathi cottage and Spa (it's Sucks) and next to Four Season (BEST time there)

like what you said, it is migrating season so they are on the move and we din get a chance to see any whale shark.anyway saw my whaleshark in Aur already so it's ok to miss any in maldives

Saw Sharks but not as much as what i saw in sipadan and din get a chance to see hammerhead at the infamous hammerhead point.We purposedly hit water at 6am just hopping to catch a glimpse of it but no luck :s guess got to try our luck in layang layang

Other than the eagle ray formation which we saw for the 1st time, there's nothing much else cos the viz was quite bad.

Even the dive operator at four Season told us not to waste money (US$90 per dive) cos the conditions is bad for diving at that time of the year. so we just idle in our WB in four Season, eat, suntan, snorkel hahaha....

Hope i get a chance to go back again maybe do a week LOB there at the right season and then R&R at mirihi resort (haben get a chance to take seasplane ) / FSR kekekeke

....!! got any pics to share? got pass by Soneva Gili? hows the corals there at 4 seasons, recover from the Tsunami liao?

U are a hardcore diver 6am I rather sleep kekekeke......... now if I go Maldives... I rather nua.. last year brought 1 full bag of gears, 9 nights and not a single dive. faintz...

Hammerheads ah..hmm... saw on the discovery channel, must go to the south/central american water..forgot where liao.. where thousands of them migrate!! kekekeke..... shld be a spectacular sighting!!
U are pretty lucky liao... I only saw 1 eagle ray/dolphin ray.
Got chance I would like to visit Sipadan also, just that now no more shore diving liao.... need to travel. sianz.

4 season LOB seems good but really ex loh.... ya ya...must try seaplane at least once. best time to see the Atolls is near noon. Morning flight really not that nice.

So when u planning to go again? kekekeke..... it can be really haunting, ever since going there, my mind kept telling me to go back, and forget everywhere else!

i had lunch with my sister in law just now, also happen to chat about number of kids..my SIL feels one is ideal coz like u said can give e best. thats why she only has one daughter. as for me, i would love 3!!! hubby only wants one. well, guess only time will tell!hahahah...

i think baby clothes are quite easy to hand wash. and i think baby detergent are gentler on the hands. I am used to it already coz i normally hand wash my delicate clothes like lingerie and camisoles..

what to do, research say the diving around kuramathi can make it..well at least they got hammerhead point, so we went ahead with plan to stay there..... which is a bad choice *bang head*

FSR super nice TOTALLY diff from kuramthi and we really regret not spending the entire trip at FSR (we willing to forgo the diving ) din noe Soneva gili is very near FSR din take note...was busy looking at dolpines splashing on the way to FSR

Regret to say the corals still have not recovered. the bleaching is really BAD even though we went snorkelling but we din really see much but picaso tigger fishes (juvenile) only. and one thing that make me bang head is the eagle rays swam under our WB at least 2 times during our stay there and i can never get into the water fast enuff to take close up picture of them *bang head* anyway did take a few shot of them during diving so be it

u are right no mroe shore diving at sipadan in fact the marine life there has deteriorated. went back again last year and less fishes already, lucky my 1st trip there was rather fruitful me heading to lembeh for muck diving in sept...can't wait to get into Real serious diving (maldives diving cannot count as diving ) wish me luck with photo taking and not flood my camera

when we are at FSR, LOB was sent for yearly maintenance servicing *bang head* so din get a chance to see it but yes it is very exp , at least US$1500 per day but we did see their other boats, really nice, in fact some angmo actually rents it to do surfing LOB

when i planning to go back again ..not so soon still got other areas to cover
maybe will try to organise LOB + R&R to maldives some other time

must say that aruond North Male Atoll area lots of dolphin, especially around FSR. I saw pics ppl post when staying around FSR, can even see them around the resort.
Next time remember to be in swim wear all the time.... so you'll never miss swimming with the Rays!! kekekek.....

Ya I know what u mean... Hilton as well, house reef was almost non-existence during my 2005 stay. Mirihi on the other hand, mins away, was flourishing! hmmm.... probably due to the refurbishment in progress at Hilton.

So what Camera u use for underwater shoots? DSLR? how much u paid for the housing? What lens u use for the shots? I would like to try shooting underwater in future, especially Macro shots.

Whaa!!! Dive Safari!!! I want!! kekeke... let me know if you have spares sits.

err...i'm always in my swim wear during the day when i was there...it is just that they are too fast for me to catch up *bang head*

ok noted how flourishing the coral are at mirihi, will try to go there

no lah, mine is just a normal A620 with canon housing no DSLR..cannot afford and skill not up to standard to use that total around $1K i haben get a chance to upgrade with strobe yet and no macro /wide angle lens cos canon housing doesnt allow third party lens and they dun manufacture underwater casing lens *bang head* but luckily A620 has got good macro function so still not so bad now the only thing missing is the strobe =))
Macro shots is fun cos the subject dun move much so easier to take wahahaha

got FSR picture but me not good photographer so pictures not really that nice =)) me still newbie photographer

if i get a chance to go again, i will try mirihi (for diving sake), the other FSR , W resort, soneva etc hehehe *continue dreaming*
