Looking back the years walked.....still lost

It has been a roller coaster period for me.
Had my marriage collapsed in 2008 having to know about my wife's infinity.

My whole world collapsed leaving only pieces of confidence to pick up.....but still i moved on knowing the world would not stop spinning for me.

Conuseling done with and separation done up by my ex-wife in 2008 upon my agreement to her terms on child maintenance and access.

In these 3 years i caught up with myself getting a degree, advancing my knowledge, gotten better job.

Withdrawn my interest to contest for my 2 daughters knowing contesting would most likely separate the two sisters.
After-all a bad wife don't necessary makes a bad mother.

Withdrawn my name from new HDB built-to-order flat given the deposit is already paid and the flat value had already appreciated by 60%.
It was also in hope for a place to call home for my 2 daughters whom has been living under relative roof since they were born.

Coming to 4 years now.....time to face my divorce which i had kinda dreaded.
I know i can't look back given my distrust to my ex-wife. She had requested for a reconciliation but i can't accept the past and had to move on. Thus now negotiating for terms before deciding if we could share a lawyer to process the divorce.

I'm still feeling selfish to insist for divorce despite against the interest for my 2 precious daughters......but my heart feels nothing for this marriage nor the trust for my ex-wife could be mended.

Am i too heartless not to even take a glance back to the happier days?

first up, i would say you're only heartless to your ex-wife but not to your daughters.
divorce is never an easy option, i'm sure you have run thoughts through your mind before coming to this decision.
i believe if you didn't go down this path, you would have lost your sanity as any normal man would.

yes, you might have love her before the incident but when some mistakes are made, there is no going back.

u've lost nothing except some monetary inconveniences. most of what u've lost is what u Think u have lost... everyone's still alive, u can still be a father, they are still your daughters, u are still living and breathing and life is still there....

it's your mind that is playing games... get up and start walking.

cheers
