hi piggy12, i prefer to shop in Bangkok instead of HK. My fav shopping areas are suan lum nite market and chatuchak.

really wish i am there now..ha ha ha ha!!
 
haha.. Light Brown actually shopping between HK/Shen zhen i tink Shen Zhen better the style is more suit for singaporean and v cheap n gd quality the last time i go i bought 10pair of shoe ranging at $4-$13 and i like the quality better compare to Charles n Keith/URS:P

I haven been to BKK goin next mth after i go den i know SZ or BKK better.. becos i abit worried the quality in BKK like those at bugis st v thin;P

avoid patpong now i hrd very ex..
last time bargain is gooood at patpong now they very haolian when cum to bargain..

will save $$$ go HK soon, hmmm... or hint my boss next firm trip wld be HongKong.. hehe
 
Hi delinbb, if u go HK make sure u make a trip down to SZ v v worth it they have lots of wholesale market my friend who is a frequent shopper at BKK told me it comparable to BKK .. If u like branded clothing HK is the place they have a lot of wholehouse sale n if u go during Aug (their Sale period) v v cheap their Giodano clothing so much nicer than Sg 1..how i miss HK food *drooling* now:P
 
tat's right delin, need to go chatuchak real early to beat the heat and crowd. ya, MBK is also nice, especially getting shoes and fake lesports bags! hey did u try the japanese food in MBK ?! it's really fantastic! cheap and fresh!

piggy, do include MBK in ur trip to BKK, u can also get very nice shoes there as well! but the usual starting price is from 199 baht which may be something close to S$8 (dunno how the exchange rate now) but the quality is not bad too. Oh and remember to go for massage ok? It's good!

i have already listed down all the shopping area like MBK, Pratunam market, Pratinum shopping centre etc.. is Siam Square worth going? sign~ i have to gave CTC a miss cos i not going during Wkend..

it's been a few yrs that i din go travelling cos got kid now, not easy to go travelling..

i miss BKK though i been there only once..the tings are super duper cheap and nice lor..

been to SZ, but the impression not that gd lor..cos kena "con" by the ppl there...sighs

tyra, if save enough can consider hawaii or maldives for honeymoon ? i think both are great places for honeymooners! but then again, anywhere will be fantastic when u're on honeymoon right ?

tyraellen, ya lots of thing to plan when it comes to wedding.. i simply miss those days where i go ard looking for reno contractor, trying on the gown taking PS etc.. it also gave us excuses to do more shopping haha...
 
blue_genie, it's very true. U have to be on guard 24/7 while shopping in SZ or anywhere for the matter of fact. But ya lor, those sellers are really cunning. usually i would slash the price more than half then bargain lor.

actually good to take leave and de-stress... I sometimes take half day leave with colleagues to go for nice lunch then shopping or nice high-tea somewhere.

blue_genie, the last time i go was with my gf so only 2 of us.. frankly specking i dun find SZ as dangerous as what others claim to be maybe i am jus lucky enough not to bump into pickpocket;p but dun be afraid to go again i believe other country also have dis kind of cunning pp jus be on ur guard the next time u go;P

not to scared you, my gal fren kanna pickpocket too at chatuchak BKK. dat was last year, one thing the place is too crowded with their own ppl and tourist and the stall too closed with one another and little space to walk along the pathway. and u keep knocking ppl or u have to slide ur body to let other ppl walk past. maybe from there the accident happen!

so you too be careful and be alert ya.. i knw ure not goin CTC rite? maybe other shopping area at BKK too.
 
Delin < I am reading this thread but abit hard to keep up the pace as I am only on "prowl" here at nite when everyone else is offline...

BKK = SHOPPING!!!!! Just went last year and went on a shopping spree... hubby became camel (carrying bags for me).... now he refuse to go BKK again... says he feel like a camel...

BKK! My fren went to BKK recently to shop and eat and she made me drool with her descriptions. According to her, there is a new shopping place called platinum mall which is a wholesale place. Clothes there are really cheap. Whoever is planning to go there can check it out.

All along I oso have a bad impression of SZ but a fren who is working in China told me that SZ is now one of the most livable city in China. Even Shanghai loses out to it. I guess it is worth a visit to go there and see.
 
If you travel BKK on weekdays, then can go for Platinum mall an aircon shoppin mall, again on women's clothing, bags and accessories.
The problem is as this is a wholesale mall,if you buy three items and up, the price you pay is lower per piece. Oso one thing not of a very good quality hor.... my printed dress and shirt made of cheap cotton, fashionable shoes made of fake leather..hehe...Worth a look though, you may bargain but not much. For me all stores almost same same! I tink Siam Square much better lor....

hmmm... i still like chatuchak wkend market!!!
even though its hot market area, i can bargain more and the seller there very frenly can even joke with me and must a bit "drama mama" with them, and they can give you good price... haha..
dun show ur wallet got many money hor.. tried take out $$ from ur pocket and take out exactly amt..after they see you got many notes..chiam...
ur drama gone!!! LOL
