Indian wedding Services in Singapore

Hey Radha.. I think u're rather unprofessional to comment on a makeup artisit's work like the way u did. I engaged Ahmutha for my rom, engagement,AND my church wedding PLUS reception. She did an excellent job for me & my bridesmaids for all my functions, including our mani, pedi & henna. My pics are featured in the new singaporeindianbrides blog. I wonder what your expectations were and if they were realistic. Shez a highly sought after mua in the local indian fashion scene and in media projects. It clearly shows that either u're not in touch with the latest makeup trends or u prefer traditional indian makeup which emphasizes on unblended-2 different-coloured-eyelids. Please read thru this forum n her blog. U'll come across rave reviews of her from other knowledgable and fashionworthy brides such as bridebliss who just posted that she LIKES the works from vanitysuite.blogspot.com (which is Ahmutha'z site,by the way). I believe makeup is used to enhance beauty. NOT to coverup flaws!

Hi,different people have different opinions. What might be nice to you is not necessarily said to be nice for me too.Beauty have many different sideviews and we see it from different angles...

Hi Radha,

I think its best you check out the prices offered by the MUA and then decide which one is within ur budget and then decide on going for a trial with them..

Its best to go for a trial first then deciding on a MUA and not choosing based on people's recommendation and w/o a trial..noone wanna be disappointed with how they look on their big day..

Just my opinion..:-)

Hi all, I agree with AK (heartz01), best to go for trial. Each MUA are known for their own style of makeup skills. They will do their level best to make us look good. You may have a particular look in mind but the way you describe it verbally maybe be perceived differently. So itz best to have samples of the looks like mag cut outs etc to show the artist what u really want. Different ppl may have different opinion of MUAs because each of us have different tastes. If a MUA cant give u the look u want, it maybe cos u are not used to such style of makeup or the look u have in mind is not described properly. Juz my opinion...dun rush into booking a MUA without ensuring wat n how u wanna look.

Hi Radha & Hi all,
im pretty new to this forum..N my first msg goes out to Radha!
Hi Radha,i totally agree with U regards to your bad experience with Amutha(vanity suite) aka looks bridal's mua,My cousin ever tried her trial makeup with amutha ,was horrible! my cousin's dark spots were so visible despite 'several touch ups' thank god it ended at trial!;) Coming to Facesbysarah, her werk is more for Parties sort eg: b'day's,D&D's.. i would'nt say its appropriate for wedding! her eye makeup is really gud but she cant do hairdo! * i know im not some pro to comment on any MUA'S werk but im just trying to help those brides to be with whatever info i have! As we know 'word of mouth' is very impt! Radha,i wish you luck in your search for a MUA to your expectations! You may wanna try Fatima Mohsin, she's really gud, that's my personal preference! cheers! ;)

hi... i don like Amutha's mu too.. find that it looks quite old-fashioned... i've done with norehan.. she very gd.. she did for my ROM.. everyone loved it... Radha.. choose Norehan if its for ROM or reception. for traditional indian wedding, then u have to find someone else...

The picture in green featured in Image Storey is a real person who gave the testmonial, She's a friend of mine. I think the purpose of this forum is to help each other with contacts for your wedding. Rather than badmouth services, check them out for yourself. Whether or not you agree, What is best out there is actually just what is best for you! You need to have a clear idea of what you want and see if they can deliver just that and beyond....

So why not we share our information and let ourselves be the best judge of what's good for us.

Love

So in reply to Bridal Bliss,
I can introduce you to the 'gal in green'
She will be happy to share with you her experience with Image Storey as well.
I can pass you her email and contact.

Hi Bride (Bride212), I was not refering to the one who gave the testimonial. I was refering the the group pics where there are 4 pics in a row. I will send you the link to that pic which showed another artist from overseas doin the makeup. It was stated another name.

Hi Saralash,I did ask Norehan but she was ratherarrogant in replying to me....She was telling that someone is trying to con her and so on...Thats why...i'm thinking twice about her...I am really confused..And Sara Ravin Lee..thank you for the feedback...I was about to go to Sarah's for a trial..but now..I guessed that I had changed my mind....Hey..how about Chinese MUA?will they be ok..?

Hi...I went through Bridal Zone.Their makeup seems to be nice..but however,it for photoshoot...I would like to know whether the makeup for photoshoot and wedding reception is different, because if its the same, maybe I will ask them for makeup and hairdo..

hi Radha, not sure what is going on with Norehan. but frankly, she always sounds slightly arrogant over the phone but is a nice person when met. u can try her if u wan.. as for chinese MUA, there are some who can really do good job. but sometimes they might not have the base that is suitable for indian complexion. whatever it is, i think its really save to go for a trial or look at picts where they have done on indian gals.. that will give u a rough idea.. today i was going arnd little india and i saw this beauty studio called HAZEL.. they are above ABR video, beside MKM .. their make-up was quite gd. i was very impressed.. she showed a before and after pict of a gal and it was a great change. try her...

Radha- just want to let you know that fatimah's services are costly but the results are excellent! Apart from my favorite Fatimah, you may also try with saheli and ezina. Both are really good.Saheli is best known for northern style bridal makeup, she's got gogeous costume jewelleries too! And ezina, she's really very talented! she's able to do any stlye of makeup for anyone. And i must warn you that both are always busy, you may need to book in advance.btw view their work @ www.sahelibridalhouse.com and www.ezina.multiply.com

Radha can I offer a suggestion,
Think about what kind of a look you want to achieve for your wedding....
If you want a complete consultancy expert knowledge and make up: Image Storey
If you want to look like a Bollywood Queen with heavy costume jewellery, hair pieces: Saheli Bridal.
If you want some fancy eye catching make up: Sarah
Vanity Suite can be good for you too. experienced at bridal make up.
Fatima can give you an elegant look.

It simply depends on what you want, dear.
Also might help if you can see samples of what the MUA has done for your skin tone type of brides. Testimonials give you an idea of the working style and commitment of the MUA. she may be great at make up but if her attitude etc is bad, you will indeed be very stressed!

I hope this helps. I advice you NOT to trust Chinese MUA as they will mostly have make up for extremely fair skinned brides... and you will be disappointed.

I would go for one trial. If I love the look, I would stick to that MUA.. Only If I am unhappy, then I will try another trial.
Good Luck. If you need photos of a bride who used Bridal Zone as her make up for her reception, do let me know.

Hi everyone,
i am new to this blog...i need some help if anyone has pics of Guna's work or his web add? I am fixing him for my temple wedding but i am not sure if he is able to decorate my church as well.....

hi Anuradha, you might want to try A1 fashion in the road as style mart. They are very reasonable in pricing and service too.

Hi Bridal Bliss,

Legends @ Fort Canning can accomodate 1000 pax.

Also, with regards to shoes

Vivi @Vivocity has nice shoes

Bride212 - no worries dear, I'm sure the MUA is good for her works as I've seen the one who has wrote the testi. Wld be nice if we cld view more of her works too.;-)

Saralash - Thanks for the info of fairway club. It mite be an option for me. Is Norehan doin ya tradtional bridal makeup too?

Shana- Welcome on board. Care to share who is ya MUA?

hai bridebliss-sure thang! mine is ezina! met her during one of the fashion show i worked for, honestly the 1st thing which attracted me apart from her great work was her makeup box! it was very neat & clean, most imptly it was clean! for us ladies our face is very impt.i am pt model who have met several mua's in my lyfe (incld few 'famous' names mentioned here)to my surprise, their makeup kit is so filty looking! esp their foundation sponges with dried foundation marks on 'em! & the best thing, ezina uses famous brands of makeups which are my favs ! & apart frm her makeup ,she is very helpful too, gives me adequate info needed for my wedding.& trust me she is not stingy cause when i asked her what happens if i am only able to tell her my date later as i have'nt make up my mind on my venue and happens that she's taken up by then? she told me not to worry, there are other prof mua ard & i can view their work @ www.singaporeindianbrides.com i was li'll surprised as one would never talk abt another working in the same industry? lol but i'll def make up my mind soon on my venue & will def engage her.you can view her profile @www.ezina.multiply.com

Hey Bridal Bliss... She has recently arrived from overseas hence that was one of her first few clients.... A friend of mine getting married in Dec has engaged her so I will update those snaps when I get them. Her trial went well but she is a little pricey
happy.gif

BUBBLY jagpal seems to be doing a good job too. Absolutely loved her 'Look Book 2009' . Hoping to feature her as a MUA too.
I just met up with another henna artist .Her work's pretty good too. Will update the blog soon

She's at Peninsula Plaza.

It's great to share infomation and I wished it was more organised!!

I am looking at Mayura Catering, Riverwalk Tandoor, Komalas,Moghul Mahal, Gokuls for food .. These were the names suggested to me by recent brides.

hi bridebliss, no norehan is not doing my traditional bridal make-up cos indian weddings u noe have all those flowers that need to be tied on the hair. she did tell me she's willing to bring in an indian mua just for saree tying and for the flowers but my mum feels rather save the trouble.. but i wld love to have her. i trust her make-up u see.. by the way, fairway club can only accommodate 400 pax. are u aware of this? i might be taking that for my wedding too.. if u happen to go down personally to see the place.. pls do take some picts of the ballroom and email me
[email protected]

thanks a million... as my wedding is only in Jan 2010, my hubby suggests we go down probably arnd June... thats y.. when is urs again?

Brid212 - Thanks for the info. I saw Bubbly's Look Book fr a fri's Facebook. The pics are sooo beautiful. Her works are professionally captured. Saw amutha's name as one of the MUA, is she the same one as vanitysuite? Her works are also beautiful. Its not old fashioned etc...the makeup look very modernised. Right now m considering Bubbly, amutha and sara. Their makeup styles are unique and vibrant. I have asked arn those who have used their services. They have good views abt them. The products used are MAC, BOBBI Brown, Estee etc...Brands that suit indian skin tones.

M also lookin for decor ,PG & VG. Saw a few contacts in singaporeindianbrides.blogspot Quite informative.

Saralash - My wedding is in Mar 2010. We are inviting abt 300 pax so Fairway mite be a gd choice but gotta view the place first. If I do, will gather the info n pics n mail ya.

Shana - Thanks for sharing ya info abt Ezina. She looks promising too. May put her as an option too.

hi bridebliss,
is urs an traditional indian wedding? the reason i cant take MUA like ezina, fathima cos i need someone who really knows how to put on those flowers on the hair.. so need an indian MUA... haizzzz............

Saralash - Mine is traditonal..so as u said m not taking the malay artist. I'm considerin the ones i mentioned earlier except for Sarah cos she does not do the full bridal works.

Saralash- the owner of Ezina is actually indian i mean chindian.'EZINA' is a arabic word relating to beauty or to beautify.and she's known as ezina to everyone. She loves arabic stuffs like bellydance, arabian makeups etc.btw when you see her you'll never believe she's indian as she looks malay.but anyways, i dont think she'll do traditional indian bridal hairdo with flowers and all
happy.gif

Bridal Bliss- yes im working with Bubbly to feature her work soon
happy.gif

The LOOK BOOK MUA Ahmutha is indeed the MUA featured in Vanity Suite
happy.gif

They are so good right? Excellent Photographer too.... Contacts be up on blog when Bubbly returns from overseas
