Hi Ladies, I have a dilemma. Read on and give me your opinions please.
Well, this was what happened.
Whilst my hubby and I were eating after the ceremony at the hall of the temple, I noticed the servers disposing the trays of food into black trash bags. I was puzzled and looked around and saw that poeple were still around. Not many but some of them, whom were our closest friends and relatives who helped us out . So when I sent a family member to check why they were throwing and if we could pack the food, one of them said that there were no tupperwares to take away the food. It was only after we reached home, we heard that our friends and a few relatives, did not have anything to eat in the end cos the food was all cleared up. Of course, furious over this, we confronted the caterer and refused to pay the remaining amount of about 50%, which is less than 5k..Of course the caterers, apologized and agreed that it was their mistake. They did ask us to be lenient and we told them that we will consider it. A few months later, I received a legal letter summoning me to pay up. During the mediation sessions, the caterer claimed that they were not allowed to keep the food for more than 4hrs and it was out of concern for the guests (to prevent food poisoning)that they threw the food away without consulting me, my hubby or our family members. Because they had an ISO guideline to back their claims, I had to pay up as the verdict was in their favour.
I honestly feel that this is totally unjustified. They are one of the pioneers in wedding catering and they claim that their food will turn bad after 4hrs??! It is a notion i cannot digest. That meant that they have been serving all weddings food, that at some point, expired. Whatever they promised - a supervisor at site, tupperwares to pack the food, unregrettable service, all were not delivered at all. I have been adviced by a few to sue the caterer for bad service. So im still thinking about it. What do you ladies think? Ild appreciate your feedback and maybe i might be able to understand a POV Ive never realised before.
