Hi ladies...good morning. I need urgent assistance. A fren has got Anand Bhavan to cater at the temple for his wedding but they are not providing the skirtngs etc. Anyone had this experience with AB? Any contacts for table skirtings, etc.?

Just managed to follow up on the posts. My MUA was a chinese but experienced with indian (North/South) make-up. I liked the part where the make up wasnt so patchy/white...she actually blends foundations to match ur skin tine and not use one tat's closest. Trials were great...we experimented with so many colours and i didnt have only 1 trial...had 2 i think. The hairstylist is also at the trials to show you the hair style.

It was great to have two ppl working on me dedicated to their area. I didnt get tired or felt uncomfortable at all. It was just perfect. Both of them put my jewellery on for me as well as did my dupatta and kept it in place with pins.

She cant tie a saree...i think...i doubt. Anyway this lady Kums (97626537) is a super expert, she tied my saree in 5 mins. It looked great. It was a pretty heavy saree. Hubby n I were so impressed.

Hi SK, my ROM is on 25 aug and wedding is on 20th Jan...Took a package with Spa Alangara for my make up, VG and PG...you guys should really check out thier magazine style album...good work, captures the fine moments of the wedding...

Celeste, I'm going for my trial make up this week too...so excited!! ; )

Hi everyone! Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for your kind words re my experience.

Chick - Belated congrats!! Sorry, have been busy settling into Perth and its cold cold winter so have been out of touch.

Very sorry to hear about Rani of Rupini's. I know exactly how you must be feeling. My hairstyle was also not what I had wanted. Apparently because I washed my hair that morning, it was too soft to be styled high in the front. Shereen should have said something when she saw me that morning because she already knew what style I was after (we discussed this during the trial) - at least we would have time to blowdry my hair. But no, she only said it'd be a problem when she had finished with my makeup and was doing my hair. By then, we were running late.

Do you have any photos from friends or family? How does your makeup look in those pics? Sometimes the make-up might look too thick or nothing like you when you first look in the mirror but when the PG photos come out, the lighting makes the make up look very natural. I hope that'll be the case for you, dear.

Are you still using Rani for your church ceremony? If you are, maybe you can call her asap to discuss what you want for your make-up and hairstyle on the 30th so that there are no disagreements that day. I'll keep my fingers crossed your day will be perfect, dear.

Kismet - I hope the plannings going well and everything is sorted by now. My very best to both you and the hubby and wishing you a very beautiful wedding day too.

Yeah, I had engaged Shereen to be my MUA but ended up with 2 people coming as well. Shereen and her mother. Only, for me it was more a problem than a bonus cos they didn't do things simultaneously. It was more a case of while one did the make-up and hair, the other would sit, watch, advise and comment.....

Piggy - I think our table skirtings were provided by the temple. But if I'm not wrong, AB can provide skirtings at an additional cost because I've seen photos of their buffet set up decor up in their office (Level 3). Maybe you can neg the price for the skirtings down. Wished I knew abt Kums before because that would have saved me a whole lot of grief with my saree tying episode. ;)

Suhana - Yes, it's true that Shereen's make up and henna skills is almost faultless and I don't have a problem with that. But what I do have a problem with is that she was very late twice (one was on the crucial actual wedding day and this inevitably caused me to be late for the ceremony where my thaali was tied AFTER the given auspicious hour). She also misrepresented herself when it came to saree tying and even when I brought it up with her and her mother, they told me that usually the saree tying is done by the bride's aunties and sister and the role of the MUA is just to help. That, for me, is an unacceptable excuse and just very disappointing.

Babli - Yup, I engaged Shereen (Saheli) to do the make-up and hair for my bridal shoot too. We engaged the photographer separately.

Anyone knows where to buy nice diamnate shos which are low heeled (1 to 1.5inches). I tried taka, tangs &amp; far east but all are high heeled. Any recommendations?

Piggy- spoken to this lady that u hired to tie saree. her price is very reasonable and she tailors too! thats great!!

Im still deciding if i should get one person to do my make-up&amp;hair, and another to tie saree.

I guess if my MUA does great make up and she can do hair and tie saree, then i'll get one person.
At the moment im going for trials with Yasmin. heard her work is good, and she can do everything.
Will update u guys after my trial with her this Sun! ;)

Rany - How's everything going for you in perth? It must be freezing now in winter, esp in the early mornings....but dun worry come sept, u'll think u r in paradise...spring is really gorgeous in Perth. Makle sure u take a trip to Araluen to catch the tulips in bloom! Where are you putting up? and how r u adjusting to life there? i lived there for abt 5 yrs and now I sorely miss perth...was hoping to migrate after marriage, but now, with baby, sigh, gonna have to put that off for a while

i noe what u mean bout shereen n mom, but i was told her mom follows for every house call she does so dun think can get out of that. she's really young, u noe, only 21. I was quite surprised, seeing how talented she is. well all tt is over so just put it behind you...get hubby to drive u to sunset coast to watch the romantic sunset, it's a short drive from cottesloe beach.

SK - hey babe, went to choose my pics at french bridal and i must say they turned very well so we ended taking 10 more pics, which set us back $600. but she returned me most of my other rejected pics la so i plant to scan and print them myself. I practically had to beg for them man...i'll be collecting my album in a bt a mth's time. rite now busy sourcing for reno contractors for my new place. I'm planning to move in in early sep, hopefully if all goes well. so i'm really broke right now from trying to pay for everything. how's everything going with you?

Hey gals, thanks for the well-wishes. Had a fun wedding on Saturday. Of course, there's always things that didnt go as planned but overall, had comments that it was good. My band plus wedding games plus dessert buffet were the highlights of the evening. Anyhow, if you need any information, do lemme know, will try to help as best as possible. Good luck to all of you in your planning, i'm off to Ho Chin Minh for a small getaway...
 

Hi.. I am new to this forum... and i wld like u guys to help me out by telling me which place i shld approach for my indoor photo shoot before my marriage... i plan to take photos only with pure indian ethnic costumes.. such as malayalee, brahmin style, etc... and indoor only... i am only aware of susiee's house of beauty in serangoon who does it... anyone knows where else i can approach for a good package? Thanks a million in advance
