Indian wedding Services in Singapore

Hey Shan, just wondering y do u need to engage any malay wedding consultant? Perhaps they can only help with the deco and wedding fav. But for the rest of the preparation, u still need plenty of help from the Indian bridal house, which includes the MU and hair. Care to share how much they charge u on the heart shaped bag wedding fav?

Hey Kismet >> I would suggest u get a studio photoshoot. B'cos sometime.. on the actual day, u may not have enough time to take individual portrait pics, so it will be good u have done pre-wedding shoots for memories sake.. Not just that u have great fun, u and ur family can get good memories of ur wedding..
wink.gif
..

This happens to me as by the time everything ended.. it was 1 am at night after the dinner.. i was just too tired to smile.. So i did not have much individual portraits.. a little wasted but no choice.. time does not allow anyway..
sad.gif
..

I have seen some of the works from the-wedding-chateau. They look lavish and expensive.. how are the charges like?

As for the high heels, u can try City Plaza.. a couple of shops sells nice designs and prices are not so expensive..
wink.gif
... Can forget abt Charles and Keith, they normally carry more mass market ranges…

Chick recommended some diamante ones at Hue, if u budget is ok. Novo is the best, I bought my ROM shoes and AD shoes from there. I was lucky that both occasion I bought the shoes they were on sale..
biggrin.gif
..

The ROM one is more princessy, a off white silvery pair with diamante sewed on to silk ribbons. Cost me only $99 (UP $199). The gold heels was more simple so cost me abt only $49 (UP$89)..
wink.gif
..Last season they have some stunning designs. Surprisingly they are still durable and comfy.. no complaints and I wear them to functions too..Go check out..
happy.gif

Btw, my tip to u, please get slip-in ones cos u need to remove them @ the temple to do the rights..
wink.gif
... Troublesome if they comes with studs or hooks or other secure points etc.

Hi Jeinthi, I was thinking of take another pre-wed photshoot in JB. I’m aware of the pros and cons to consider. Can u share with me the contacts and package u took?
Thanks.
wink.gif
.. [email protected]

Anway, Jeinthi, if u have seen my comments with angelic, yes I agree that Ravi deepam wedding services prices sounds reasonable.. I would say CHEAP.
embarrassed.gif

But because of this cheap pricing my MIL fall into the trap..
angry.gif
...Wat u need is a decorator that can make the wedding affair grand yet on a creativity way.. he quoted me the same stuff.. as compared to Kuna and Vanan, it is a few hundreds different, but the atmosphere is not there.. as I mentioned he was the uncle of Raju.. my hubby was a classmate of Raju.. after our wedding.. Raju spoke to my hubby and told him that the uncle actually consulted Raju to figure out how to décor Khalsa.. wat is that supposed to mean..?
uhoh.gif

Sometime expensive decor means higher expectation.. and that's where u can demand more..
lol.gif
..
Anyway, enough said. Please take extra caution when u use them.
uhoh.gif

YB > Hey.. welcome gal. wish u had found this forum and share ur wedding deor contacts with us..
I had a problem getting a good one and the one u recommended has really good décor designs..

I wish I can do my wedding all over again. Which Chinese PG/VG did u use? If u don't mind, can u send me some of ur wedding pic decor and MU pic to me.. thanks

hi ladies,

Wow, Joelle!! Thanks for all the tips!! Can't wait to see your pics. [email protected]

Brokenbudgie/Chick - My gown is still at D'sire. Picking it up later this week. Will bring it back for alteration a month before the wedding..
Its a champagne/ivory spagetti strap with swarovski crystals and beading done all over the bodice and comes with a beautiful train...

Went for my photo-selection on 6th April. Had a hard time shortlisting 200 over shots to just 42!! Had to buy 6 more so total i have 48 poses...Wanted more but no $$$!!!

Hi Joelle - Am at work right now but couldn't resist reading all your fascinating and wonderful posts. Should save all these under "(South) Indian Weddings 101 - everything you need to know by Joelle".. ;)

i'll be wearing a lehenga for the sangeet which I've yet to buy...gulp. For the actual dinner for both nights, will be wearing a wedding gown, cheongsam and lehenga.

SK - what outfits are you wearing?

p.s. I went crazy at Tekka Market the other day, and bought 4 punjabi suits and a lehenga in preparation for my fiance's brother's upcoming wedding...it was fantastic!

Hi Ladies!

Joelle-You can still mail me the pics at [email protected]
Its not too late
happy.gif

Accessories-
I've already purchased the accessories from shop in style.it cost abt 340 but i didnt think too much of it as it was love at first sight with the set and it was the exact colour i wanted.Another shop in the same lane quoted me 440 for a not so outstanding one....

AD PG- I've confirmed Kenneth from Tsangstudios for my AD.I viewed his works with my FH and he really liked his work as well.
For those of u who havent got a PG yet I highly recommend you to take a look at his works. He does a great job at a reasonable price. He did mention one of u confirming him as well.I think he said Anu...getting married in Jul as well?

SK- I know what you've been thru.I had already decided not to choose more than 20 but when i Went for photo selection on saturday...spent almost 2 hours choosing from the 200+ he took and we went overboard with abt 45.So he offered to give us 60shots in all for an extra 800.Not being able to resist we took the offer.SO yup we're getting everything we liked and more
happy.gif
cant wait to get the finished album.

SK-Your gown sounds gorgeous!!

Entertainment-
Confirmed the Bhangra dancers
Dj incl. light effects...from Mount Zion

Decor-
Pandora 2morrow. Quoted abt 3k for my requirements, Parents and FH n i liked his works. He can transform a simple looking hall into a ballroom! So yup we're taking him
happy.gif

Garlands + loose flowers-
Went to Sgoon rd on Sun morning.Actually Sgoon Road has become like a hangout for me.Going there almost every other day. anyway i found this shop with a variety of garlands and at good prices.I only need a simple one which will be worn for hardly 30mins.Order can be placed 2wks b4 the wedding.

Cards- Still at the printer. The sample was satisfactory just a wee bit too small so got him to redo the font size...

Priest- Booked
Wedding attire + accessories-All done

Caterer- Riverwalk...no time to go down yet.Hopefully this weekend.

MUA+Henna+Mani/Pedi - Using the same ones my sister used.

2 months more to the wedding!

Erm am i missing out on anything? Its just that each time i am done with a task a new one crops up...like a never ending process but its fun doing it all. Nothin more to do..just bits here and there after which i will hand everything over to my cousins and aunts and til the big day...just relax
happy.gif

Joelle--Thanx gal! and COngrats! Hows married life like? Unfortunately..due to some family beliefs...we r not doing it on 07/07/07..was soooo dissapointed...cried for 2 whole days..my fiance's uncle passed away last sept..so his parents dont wanna do anything after the one year is up..we were 2 months too early...

Piggy--WOW...amazing...inspired! CONGRATS on a dream wedding..and a blissful married life ahead!Am a Sikh bride to be too...but a highly clueless one..

Very excited..wedding dates to be set in 2 days! Most probably december this year..which means that..i have so little time..n may not get a nice venue...sigh..but honestly...i cant stand the idea of staying separate from my beloved any longer...hehhe

To the rest...who are in midst of preps..all the best..Hope to join all of u soon!

Hi Joelle,

Ya I wished I had found this topic earlier as tips on Indian wedding is so rare and everything available on the net is mostly non indian.

Our VG was done by my hubby's friend. PG was by Jon Keng (www.jonkeng.com) and of course we got Moorthy (from moorthy wedding svc)to do the classic 'we were there' shots. Will email you the links as all my wedding photos are on flickr. But as I told Kismet, I don't have a decor only photo as my solemnisation was just before the dinner, so by the time my PG got to the hall, there was a crowd already. So, you have to bear with our faces :p

Hi Jeinthi,

My father's friends were the one who cooked. You know the Indian Muslim kinda dinner serving? Don't think that's the kind you're looking for. Of all the Indian Weddings I've been to, I feel Woodlands Raja cooks wonderful food. I don't really like Mayura. If you want his contact, I can ask around for you.

hi yb.. thanks heaps for the photos... it looked really really nice....

rhea, hehehe.. i only recommend shere punjab....plus they won the best bhangra group yest at the khalsa mela over many other groups including kohinoor etc...

Hi Sk - Realised that you took a package with french bridal. I'm with them too. Just curious - are you using their make-up artise for your Actual day make up? Who's your MUA through them?
I'm still confused if i shld use their MUA - not very confident of them handling the Make up for indian wear. How much will they deduct if we do not use their MUA?
Let me know your thoughts.

hi fusion_bride, i only got a photoshoot package with French Bridal. Irene was the one who did my make-up for the photoshoot. I must say she did a good job with the hair and make-up for my lehenga. But i'm not using here for AD.

For those looking to buy jewellery, to check out this shop at Little India Arcade (#01-15). They have another shop called Halifax Collection Above Tekka Market #02-155.

hey ladies.. it's always a while before i m back cos i dun go online wen at work. only at home and sometimes so shack that i dun wana go online..

Hi Joelle!
Yeah, been seeing u share quite abit on the indian customs and all.. u have really done ur homework. well, we met Mr Ravi on Monday at Yishun Safra. he also quoted us abt the same price and ya, his ideas are abit outdated bt since he is cheap and willing to see what ideas we have to propose, we figured, we will come up with some gd ideas for him to bounce off.
ya, nt many pics to refer to bt he is a nicer person than the other dude i met. haiyo. that one is liek super jia lat. stil no news of him. mus be very bz searching for business outside of planet earth. anyone knows anyone good for deco or where i can search for such info? florists? MUAs?

Hello everyone . Been real busy !! sighz

Joelle -
Thanks for visiting the forum ! heheh
RE: the decorator
Not everyone takes packages. Such decorators can be used for ROM or wedding receptions . Their prices are competitive and real good work . Having said that, i think hiring a non-indian for customary wedding can be a bit toughy coz they wouldnt know of certain traditional stuff . But then again, No harm enquiring and sharing the contacts !
happy.gif

The Wedding favours -
The lady quoted me $0.55 for 1000 pcs .I have not met her yet . Next week, i might be making a trip to Air Hitam . They have lots of gifts there it seems and def. cost effective !
Shall let you girls know once i am back .

By the way Joelle, could you email me your temple program as well? [email protected]
Thanks .

Urgent Help needed: Need a PG & VG for ROM & trad marriage.
Met up with Naseer. Got d contact thru this forum. He talked to us nicely & all but now he just refuses to meet up with us for confirmation. I called him & sms him bt no reply. V.disappointed with that man.

So can anyone recommend a gd VG & PG please! thanks

Hi Ladies

i know i haven't been here in quite a while...my life has been so busy since my wedding and i'm practically going crazy with work...what to do? my month long break just piled onmore work for me and it seems to be never-ending... i'm really glad to hear all your grand wedding plans
happy.gif
really hope that everything goes well without a hitch.

feel free to ask for any help if need be..will try to provide as much assistance as I can. for those of you looking for good caterers, I'd like to recommend Muthu's curry...their food is really very good...somehow the catering tastes better than their actual restaurant food... i used them for my engagement, my henna nite, the day after my wedding when i went to my husband's house... they also provided the vegetarian food at my wedding. and some of my guests said they thought the vegetarian food was really tasty.

more than their food it is their service that really impresses me. if you plan to check them out, give them a call and look for Ram and say Parveen recommended you. They even sent me a flowers as a gift for my wedding...i was truly touched. i really prefer their food to riverwalk tandoor because their food is very fresh. riverwalk food usually tastes a bit overcooked because it's been kept a while... no offense to anyone but i've eaten riverwalk tandoor's food at at least more than ten weddings and always found the food sub standard...the food at the restaurant is much much better.

as for make-up artists, i really liked what my MUA did for me....i thought she was better than Shanti but Shanti's really good too...just tt she's a bit expensive la...so if dun mind spending more you can try her...her makeup is modern.

oh btw, just wanted to tell you guys that i'm expecting
happy.gif
hehehehe....yes yes it was unplanned, but certainly not unwanted...i'm really nervous but thank god my husband is so good to me... i had to postpone my photoshoot with French bridal and finally went last firday cos i'm already starting to show...my MUA was Jingyan anf my PG was Eric... Eric is really good, better than Ken from what i gather from other posts... and he's really funny...we got our shots done pretty quick because the pics turned out very well.... he showed them to us..
as for MUA, i can't judge but Jingyan is supposedly very experienced and her makeup was nice....a little too heavy but Eric said it'll look better in the photos and i think it did.... one thing i like bout them is they have very nice gowns and the photography is good...

well gotta run off now...take care gals and all the best!!

PB - Oh Goosh!!! U gona be a mummy. So happy for you. Probably u shd start another thread on motherhood.. kekekee. Congrats, girl.

Hello Nec, we didnt use a horse carriage just a horsie. My hubby rode on her from McNair Rd to the temple with the crowd dancing to the temple. But i think u can check with the zoo on the horse carriage rental. Sorry.

Hi Babli, my coordinator was Anu but Bethany was the initial contact and signed with her. Trust me Oriental till now is still very accommodating and in touch. I used the ballroom cos i had 35 tables. Well being an indian wedding we negotiated on alcohol and wine mostly as well as usage hours. We started early compared to most weddings. We had our cocktail at 6.30pm rite after the solemnisation at Morten's Bar. We were told the room is ours till 11pm then we negotiated and we were there till 4am. We had to pay extra hours. The florist did an amazing job with our decor, very personalised the F&B team, the manager himself was hands-on. We had the manager ard us every minute in case we needed anything. However our menu was very extensive, we (mainly the folks) discussed the menu with Chef Negi personally cos FIL knew him personally from Raffles Hotel. Cannot emphasise enuf how wonderful Oriental was. They took care of all our guests who stayed with them as well.

My apologies for not replying immediate enuf....been busy with new life and its been a mth..wow...we dun believe how time flew but gals make sure u enjoy every moment. Do not let stress or any issues (especially if something doesnt go the way u imagined) spoil the moment...JUST LET IT GO AND MAKE EVERY MINUTE SPECIAL. Enjoy your wedding and ppl ard u will enjoy too.

Hey PB!! Congrats on being a mommy soon!! I had my photoshoot with French Bridal as well..My PG was Eric and MUA was Irene. When's your photo-selection? We've selected our photos, 42 in total with no digital effects...Thinking of buying more photos on cd but depends on the price i get...Collecting our album end of this month. Where did you go for outdoor shots?
