Hi, Anyone knows if the "15days physically present in Singapore preceding the date of the notice" is still required for couple of singaporean (female) and foreigner (male)? ROM website say so while the hotline officer told me that the 15days is not required since one party is singaporean......i am getting confused....

both of us are currently living overseas due to work. We planned to ROM on Dec. thanks for your advice in advance!

okay! manage to figure out liao. "On the 15 days requirement, where any party to the intended marriage is not a citizen or permanent resident of Singapore, the law requires at least one of the parties to be physically in Singapore for a period of at least 15 days preceding the date of filing a notice of marriage...... The 15 days need not be continuous or immediately preceding the date of the notice." yeah! problem solved!

Hi Jasjas_moer, I have the same situation as you! I am from Singapore while HTB is foreigner and we are both overseas working and ROM in Dec! Don't worry about the 15-day rule, it doesn't apply to you. When is your AD? :)

Hi Espenine, thanks for your infor..yeah, i found out later that it does not matters actually for the 15days rule. Have you confirmed your ROM date? i havn't confirm anything yet because still looking for a suitable solemnization venue which is outside ROM. The venue need to be confirmed before we file the notice, right? by the way, what is "AD"....o_O

Hi Jasjas_moer, I have not registered my date with ROM yet because it's still early but the date has been confirmed and venue booked! :) You can file the notice anytime you want from 3 months before the wedding onwards. It's hard to book popular venues so you may want to secure it first before you file for notice! AD = Actual Day (wedding).

Do note that if you are choosing a venue outside of ROM, u need a licensed solemnizer. And if it is a popular dates, do consider the venue availability. Abit to risky to do everything on that day bah.
But only can file 3mths in advance.
