Goodwood Park Hotel

hi pink, think it is better that both u n yr spouse pay a visit to gwp to hv a better view of the ballroom.
happy.gif

hi cookiebunny and the little wonderer, how's ur food tasting? is it over?

is it true that food tasting will be in min jiang rest? how is the process like? may i enquire?

cookiebunny, i had chosen my wedding favour, table linen, invitation cards and centerpieces. happy that this is one load off my mind.

Hi Moo,

My foodtasting is next week, will keep you updated...hope I can resist & will not eat too much coz I have to go for my wedding gown fitting the next day
happy.gif

I've collected the invitation cards from the printer today. One less things to do :P

What favour did you choose?

Hi Cookie Bunny

Do let me know the process of food tasting ok?

We had tentatively chosen the bookmark. Still debating whether between the wedding bell cum memo holder or the bookmark.

The new guestbook has the same design as the new cream colour wedding card. We chose that
happy.gif

Hv u chosen yr table centerpiece and the aisel stand? Which florist did u choose? My hubby chose June Florist. We will be using gerberas flowers and the candles stand
happy.gif

If you are using Tudor ballroom, they had just given it a new fresh and coat of paint and new carpet, same as Windsor ballroom.
happy.gif

Hi Moo,

Nope, I havent done any of those things...will do it soon...*panic mode*
I'm trying to settle some stuffs for my church wedding since I'm diy-ing most of the stuffs.

Is your wedding in early Dec? Mine is at the end of Dec and will be using Windsor ballroom.
happy.gif

Hi ladies,
It's been almost a year since I had my wedding at GWP! How time flies... How are all of you coming along with your preparations?? Don't panic, ya? One thing at a time. Is the serrvice at Banquet Sales getting better? I recall some gliches at the beginning of the year due to staff changes. Do keep your spirits up!!

Thanks, L.S.

At least I think my coordinator is quite thorough on her follow up w us
happy.gif
*phew*

Hi Cookie Bunny

Don't worry, you can choose those when you have your food tasting or later since your wedding is later than ours. Mine is mid December this year, in Tudor Ballroom.
happy.gif

Wow, diy wedding stuff is time consuming but meaningful. Too bad I dont have the gift and can't afford the time for that. Do enjoy the process.
happy.gif

Do update us on your decisions for the wedding favours, florist and etc k?

moo,
That's good to know. When's your wedding banquet? It's so nice to know that the hotel I had my wedding celebrations at is still making couples happy. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves so much. Our coordinator indeed went the extra mile for us. I recall the excitement of all the preparations! SO much fun!

Hi Moo,
Your banquet is in Dec? Mine is in end Nov and I havent meet up with the florist yet...panicking leh....am I too later???

Good for you, L.S.
happy.gif

Hope ours will be as good as yours or even better ;)

Hi Nami

Think it will be good that you give them a ring to see the setup or any special setup that they can rcommend? Which florist are you using? Your PS, food tasting is over? How's it? Hv u chosen your flavours?

Hi all

Just like to highlight to u that goodwoodpark has currently a very responsible coordinator - Benedicte
happy.gif

Hope your coordinator is working fine with you, Amy.

Hi Everyone

I am looking for a venue for my AD lunch banquet for Jan 2007. Can you share your Goodwood Park Package with me please ... I only need a venue for 15 tables ... thanks a million

Hi HL
happy.gif
,
When we had our banquet at GWP, I the min no. of tables for use of the Tudor Ballroom was 18. They now have a larger and newer ballroom in addition to the Tudor Ballroom - Windsor Ballroom. I would think the min no. of tables would be higher than 18 though. Is your banquet a dinner or lunch? If it is a wedding lunch you're planning, some hotels will reduce to min no. of tables for you. You and husband may wish to contact GWP for current details. We had a wonderful wedding celebration at GWP. It was truly lovely!
happy.gif
I hope yours will be beautiful too!

Hi HL

Yes, it is better that you liase with GWP directly as their info will be the most updated and current. You may need to top up your menu cost per table to hit a minimum number of 18tables.

You may like to contact Benedicte, think I left her contact details in the above thread. Alternatively, you may like to call GWP to transfer Benedicte's call for you. Good luck for your negotiation!
happy.gif

any updates on food tasting or wedding attended recently?? any photos to show?? I am thinking of holding my wedding at GWP but a bit worried after reading some of the reviews... hows the food nowadays?? by min jiang??

Hi Everyone,

Our food tasting went great! The food is excellent, no complaint about the food taste
happy.gif

Overall, we are happy only have few things need to be refined.
The chef came out and went through the menu with us after the meal.

Silly me forgot to see the wedding favours!
Moo, which one did you choose?

hi wee wel

is better if u go andview the actual wedding dinner setup to see whether u like it and on the way, make an appt with the person in charge to discuss your concerns and to view the package.

hi cookie bunny

we are still debating between the bookmark or the bell cum card holder
happy.gif
had yet to make a final decision. how abt yrs? hv u viewed the favour?

btw, hv u seen the junior suite?

Hi Moo,

Same here, torn between the bell and the bookmark.
Havent seen the actual thing, will arrange for another time to go down and see.
Have you gone and see the actual ballroom setup? Me thinking to sneak a peek on 7th Oct to see the actual setup
happy.gif

We viewed the poolside suite and the Brunei Suite. The Brunei suite is so so huge!!! I think it's bigger than my house.
happy.gif

Have you done your photoshoot? Me busy preparing for photoshoot now. Just realized so many things not done yet!!

Hi Wel Wel,
Agree w/ Moo, it's best to see the food setup on your own, anyway we forgot to bring our camera so only took pics from hp, the resolution was quite poor
sad.gif

Hi cookie bunny

I haven't seen the tudor ballroom setup. Benedicte told me that they gave it a new coat of paint and a new carpet. Will try to view it when we go and collect our invitation cards. Hv u chosen that?

We had yet to view any suites.

Yes, waiting for my photos to be ready
happy.gif
Quite excited.

Hi Moo,

Yup, collected and done the invitation cards already
happy.gif

We might or might not have muslim guests so we didnt try the muslim food. Anyway, I'm quite confident with the food at GWP, all my guests were extremely pleased with the food when I held my ROM last March. So dont worry, ok?
happy.gif

I'm sure your photos will turn out very nice
happy.gif

Anything to take note for the photoshoot? Like things to bring etc?

Hi Cookie Bunny

Seems like this thread is currently dominated by both of us. Haha!

I also hope that the layout turns out to be satisfactory.

I didn't wear heels
happy.gif
Only wore my track shoes as I didn't intend to show my feet. Up to u
happy.gif
Where are you going for your ps? If can, maybe u like to bring a set of clothes to change after the ps. Bring a portable fan and a handkerchief
happy.gif

I enjoyed my ps very much as we went to Kota Tinggi, the waterfall place. The water was very cool. Very different from the normal water that we bath in. The rocks were super slippery due to the algae on it. We even became the "model" in the ang mo's (tourists) camera! Haha!
happy.gif

Hope you enjoy yours!

Hi Moo,

So cool! hehehe if you dont mind, can share your PS photos w/ me ?
happy.gif

We dont know where we want to go yet...but I think will also bring sport shoes for outdoor shoot. :P Portable fan, you mean those battery type?

WeE Wel,
I think they had a wedding show few months back so not sure whether they are going to have it again. Maybe check w/ the co-ordinator?

Hi Cookie Bunny

Sure, no problem but I think we will collect it in end October. If I have the soft copy, will pm u
happy.gif

Yes, those battery type. We didn't bring but Kota Tinggi isn't very hot, unlike a beach. Rem not to wear a new pair of shoes, in case you have blisters. U can ask your photographer for unique places to take photos. Have fun!

hi, anyone worked with Jasmine, one of the wedding coordinators before? How is she? Also, just wondering what was the reason you girls chose GWP instead of other hotels?

hi there,
i am an ex-GWP bride, my wedding was in august 2005 and we had it at the tudor terrace. just went there the other day and realized its no longer there. what a pity!! anywayz, just wana say we enjoyed our wedding (and I swam at the mayfair pool several times!!) at GWP altho it was coordinated by the previous lady, Jeannie who has since left. all the best to all the GWP brides!

hi HL i think its best to call GWP directly. i m not sure if they take 15 tables. last i know was 18 min for turdor ballroom..

how many tables can tudor take? i am looking at about 24-25...
but i think Windsor is booked... so only left with Tudor..
Does Tudor look very "old" now??

went there to take a look... where is the Tudor reception area?? the one directly beside the stairs? The Tudor room was locked... Or is there another reception area ??

haru and LS and moo

Hope you remembered me... im may 2005 GWP bride. Took the terrace. sob its not there anymore?

Other GWP brides
All the best for your wedding and hope you have a wonderful time....

GWP is able to recommend a band if you like(at additional costs), I had a band playing romantic and my favourite songs throughout the dinner and very english and classic. Thanks to Jeanie who is our coordinator
happy.gif

service, food and ambience ...

also whole experience... read abt not so good things in previous messages... would like to hold my wedding there but still considering =)

Wee Wei,
I think the unhappiness was due to the constant change in the banquet sales staff at GWP this year. Not sure if they finally managed to fix this problem or not. My experience with GWP was a good one. This was before Jeanie Tan left. She was our coordinator and she was a very good one too! We like the food served. Were given a small, but very cosy and well-appointed suite. No problems with the service of the GWP staff. LOVE the ambience GWP exudes! Cosy, quaint, timeless, and very elegant. No other hotel in Singapore has the unique ambience that GWP has! It's certainly very different. I'm biased, of course! You have to be your own judge!

The Hyatt and Hilton hotels are larger hotels. Much more so than GWP will ever be. Ambience at these hotels differ greatly from that of GWP. Honestly, it's best that you go and check these places out with your fiance. You'll know exactly what I mean once you visit them! Think the Hyatt and Hilton have more function rooms and ballrooms for you to choose from. GWP only has the Tudor and Windsor Ballrooms. These 3 hotels are hotspots for wedding celebrations! Good Luck!

Yes, I agree with L.S, Wee Wel.

Is best that you go down to the hotel that you like to experience the overall feeling and service rather than depending your decision on the comments in the forum.

You may like to look for Benedicte who is my coordinator. Feels that she is quite prompt to answering emails
happy.gif

Benedicte told me that Tudor Ballroom was given a new coat of paint and a new carpet. I had not seen it myself as the ballroom was locked the previous time when we were in GWP. Yes, the reception is inside the locked door. It is a small area compared to Hyatt or Hilton.

We fell in love with GWP at first sight
happy.gif
but I feel that Intercontinental and Raffles Hotel is also not bad in terms of ambience. It really depends on what you want.

When's your wedding?

Hi Noscon and Haru!*Wave!*

Getting excited and stressed, my wedding is getting nearer and nearer...

my wedding is somewhere in oct next year... liked the look of the hotel... feels very different from other "big" hotels =)
think you gals here ease some of my worries... wanted to take a look last sat, but schedule was too tight as I have to rush to attend another wedding =)

anyone have picture of Tudor after the new carpet plus new coat of paint ?? =)
I can only go down to take a look next week...

hi there,

for food tasting, about 2 months b4 AD will be fine. just arrange with the co-ordinator prior to that. food items to be selected a week b4 food tasting. hope this helps.
