LS,
Ya, maybe just try my luck changing the invitation card to some other perks :P Thanx for the tips.

Jen,
Glad everything went well at the end.
Btw, did you use GWP invitation card? How much do you pay to print the inserts?

Apple68,
They only have 3 colours? ehm...remember last time they also have pink, beige etc.
When is your wedding?

Hi Cookiebunny

i had used the "OBIANG" red invitation cards. printing of the inserts costs $84 after gst. and it takes approx 10 days. i had done it at a printer in AMK.

One of my friend saw the white card and commented that its very nice and classy. i m not sure abt the printing of the white as the material is thicker. let mi know if u need details of the printer.

cookiebunny,
I guess now that GWP is charging parking fees, you could ask them to increase the number of free parking vouchers/coupons in place of the invitation cards that you are going to forgo. Just a thought...

Hi Jen,

$84 for how many pieces? I'm still undecided whether to use their invitation cards or not. If I use, most likely will be half red(for my in-laws' guests)and half white.

LS,
Good idea! I was also thinking about more parking coupons or additional souvenirs.

Hi Cookiebunny,

Personal note, through my reserach with some of my cousins and friends. it would still be advisable to just take the invitation cards from the hotel. Let me explain why. I actually wanted very much to design my own invitation cards that is why i asked around for comments. Very important, asking ourselves, when we received an invitation card with very beautiful design or event picture of the couple, do we really keep the invitation? I believe not, maybe there is but will very small percentage. So why waste the money. Having the cards designed are not cheap. With that money you are going to spend on the Cards, must as well use it on something else, like jewllery, house, facial, spa, hairdo, pedicure or manicure at least all these made us BTB beautiful!!!!! Hahahaha!! Dun you agreed?

Cheers

BMW,

Hey...

I think you have a valid point. It's true that the time and $$ spent on sourcing for your own wedding invitation cards could be used for other purposes such as facials, jewellery, and all the other things you mentioned. I suppose it all boils down to how each couple wishes to prepare for their wedding. Personally, I have kept most of the wedding invitations that I have received. The ones that I deem as beautiful lah... A wedding is simply a celebration of the union between a man and woman. It can be elaborate or simple depending on many factors and of course opinions. My husband and I chose not to use the invitation cards provided by the hotel for the simple reason that we didn't fancy them. And we wanted something else and we didn't mind paying for them. We spent enough to pay for a few visits to the spa! And I do so love spa treats!

But we felt that it was definitely worth every cent. We had 2 copies of the invitation card pasted in our wedding album. Lovely. It was a move we do not regret. Just like I'm very sure you do not regret saving on them and spending on other items and services.

Hi gals,

I dont like GWP wedding cards too. I have thought about the extra cost incurred but then, I already had cut down other expenses so I thought why not just go and get my own wedding card.

In this wedding prep, there are already many things that I have to cut down and take away. If i still cannot have a wedding card which i like, i think my wedding has become someone else's wedding. my personality and taste are not reflected in this whole wedding.

Sorry to be so grumpy...

I hope to meet with Priscilla end next month to finalise the main details.

BMW725, I know where you are coming from...but like the other gals already mentioned. Sometimes we want something different, something special to make it our own wedding not just another wedding. I'm sure different gals have different ways to make it their own. :P

I'm still weighing the pro & cons whether to use GWP cards, which is why I've been asking questions so I can make 'informed' decisions

So how's everyone's preparation? So far so good?

Hi LS,

Havent decided yet, we are still checking with overseas printers etc for the price.

Anyone has any recommendation for caterer? I can only choose the following Rasel Food Fusion, Kriston, Continental Delight and Stamford for lunch after my church service.
Appreciate if anyone has comment/feedback on these caterers , thanks

hi ladies, my photos are ready. however, as there is a limit to the size of the photo that can be loaded here, please email mi for the link to view the setup of the windsor ballroom.

Hi All,

Heard from the sales rep, that GWP is cutting down on the perks.. I heard it ranges from how litres of beer to the number of nights stay...

Just wondering will the menu price be reduced too?

Can anyone confirm ?

thank you L.S.... despite the rushed preparation and hiccups, i had a wonderful time during the dinner most.. no matter what happens, let down your hair and enjoy! my guests gave good feedback about the spacious ballroom and the food. dont worry about the dinner. enjoy the process!

Hi ladies,

Any idea what is the min number of tables required for weekend dinner?
I have send them a email 5 days ago, no reply yet... Having concerns on their service level....

Hi everyone!
I'm interested in having my wedding dinner at GWP. Anyone has any pics of their wedding to share so I can get a better idea of the actual day set up? Thanks in advance.

Hi all,
I just signed up with GWP a month ago. May I know what is the full name of the wedding coordinator that you all have mentioned by the name of Priscilla? Thank you

reinn,
Hello! Welcome to the GWP thread. When we were planning our wedding banquet, the florist that GWP engaged was Florabel. So, to make matters easier for our coordiantor and myself, I went down personally (Riverside Point) to select the arrangements I fancied. There, they had photographs of how different floral arrangements looked like and colour combinations, etc. I found that speaking to the florist herself, Bee Tin, helped a lot. At least we knew what to expect.

thanks L.S
actually they also engaged Florabel to me. i tot bee tin will contact mi personally so i keep waiting. i tink i have to go down personally to select.

Hi all,

Just want to share my experience with GWP so far.

I managed to meet up with my coordinator (which i hope will last till my AD). She is pleasant and I must really thank her effort for accomodating us. Our meet up was eventful. We went through many details from menu to ballroom set up to wedding favours to whatever miscellaneous items we could think of.

Though she started to look distracted after a while, hb said we hold her back for too long. I agreed and yes, we did talked for a very long time.

For the floral arrangement, we are advised to go down to meet the florist. I think this is a better proposal rather than telling the coordinator what we preferred. After a serious case of miscommunication with my wedding gown, i have learnt the lesson well. Furthermore, the florist would have more samples for us to view and we can see what flowers they have right away.

To me, it seemed that GWP is overstretching their staff. Coordinator told me that GWP was fully booked on my wedding date with 2 wedding lunches and 2 wedding dinner. And I could imagine how much work she has if she is the only coordinator around.

So to all who had enquired but still havent got any reply, i guess you need to give them more time.

Hi Honeybear, I recently signed a package during GWP's wedding show in May and it was $838+++ and $450+++ for Victorian and Mayfair pool solemnisation packages respectively. My wedding's end 07. However, I know that the Mayfair package has since increased to $500+++, so not sure if the other prices have increased as well. So the Victorian package I got may be only indicative 'cos it might have changed already.

Hi apple68,
May I know who is your coordinator?

Hi beeksie,
what is the solemization packages that you refering to? Cos mine is per pax basis. Thanks

Hi Apple(68),
I am thinking of holding my AD at GWP as well...is it ok to share your package with me? I am looking at mid oct 2007...on a weekend...also can I have the contact of the coordinator? I tried to call the hotline?? but always no one pick up le...can email me at [email protected]

thanks!

Hi diana,
I am holding it on the 12 or 13 of Oct!
My coodinator not that good so i wont not recommend you. But maybe you could mail them instead?

To Shi Min

Sorry for this late reply. Priscilla is currently assisting me for the BIG day. Actually she is really a very good and professional coordinator. Going extra miles for us... Really appreciate for all she has done.

To Diana

I dont think my package is valid anymore. The last meeting I had with Priscilla, she had repeatedly told me that from Feb 2006, the package had changed. As for what changes, I did not ask, doesnt concern me. But what would you like to know, maybe u drop me a pm. otherwise, it would be too lengthy.

My solemnisation's very simple. It's just booking Mayfair pool plus some simple setup of chairs, table and sound system.

HI and welcome to the thread. When is your banquet? A good place to start is to figure out what colour scheme you and your fiance would like to have. Have you guys thought about that? And also the food. Have you decided on the exact dishes you'll be having?
