Hi all,
I recently had my wedding at GWPH and felt it was necessary to share with any couples who are undecided or who have shortlisted GWPH as their wedding venue.
I recently had my wedding lunch banquet earlier this month at the Windsor ballroom ( 26 tables +2). We signed up in April last year and the manager told us to also sign up for their wedding show in June last year as the icing on the cake then, was having the cocktail reception before the lunch.
My guests have feedback to me that the cupcakes and pastries served at the cocktail reception was a smashing hit. If you can, try to get it as part of your package.
As I had to have the tea ceremony before the lunch, the banquet manager-Don Eng, offered a few options to us:
1) At the bridal suite (which was much larger than the ones they showed us during the wedding show)
2) At a section of the ballroom (they would clear off a small area for us)
3) At their board room (if it was available and ideally if you had less than 30 people to serve tea to)
We chose the boardroom which also happened to be next to the lift on level 1.
The package at Goodwood Park is like most any other standard hotel wedding packages.
However, if you like to customise your menu- Min Jiang at Goodwood is the place for you. During our tasting, the chef was accommodating to our requests and our varied tastes.
The other thing were the serving staff during the wedding itself. The staff, though young, were professional and efficient. I had a very difficult guest and I forgot to inform the staff to be wary of the person but fortunately, the staff were professional and patient in dealing with that particular guest. I still feel bad knowing much later what had occurred but I was more impressed by the way they handled the situation.
So, if any couples are looking to find a banquet manager who is professional and ready to listen to your concerns and be able to reassure you- I recommend GWPH's Mr Don Eng.
If you want good food- GWPH because Min Jiang restaurant provides the menu and the food is pretty good.
Lastly, if you want cheerful and warm service from the doorman all through to the room-service staff- I recommend GWPH again.
Thanks for reading and good luck to all other BTB and HTB.
