'Hmmm... apparently we didn't clean up the category as we thought. It was a manual process so it may not have been performed on "Matters of The Heart". '
- So a whopping 12 000+ posts (total of Milo's and Powder's deleted posts) were removed manually. These 2 members mainly find themselves on Matters of the Heart. I'm sorry Chin Leng, something doesn't quite add up.

Hi Watching,

There could be many reasons why a thread is removed and we don't keep track on the threads that we've removed so I can't recall each reason why the threads are removed. In our 12 years of existence, other than maintenance, we also have received numerous requests to remove threads from the original thread starter. As "Matters of the Heart" usually involves personal issues, it is a category that has received more requests to remove thread than others. And when we receive requests that is related to their privacy concerns or they have already moved forward in their life and no longer wished to be reminded of this past chapter of their life, we frequently accede to these requests. Also, during these 12 years, we have encountered a few incidents of server failure which have resulted in data loss.

I won't be too concern as to why their post numbers is much lesser than it was in the old forum as long as the reduction in number was not caused by data loss due to the recent forum migration.

hey CL,

forums evolve and yeah it's necessary. we faced similar issues on the Car Forums way back in the early 2000s... actually most car forums started on Delphi Forums before eventually moving on to others due to cost n moderating features. u can still find a host of local defunct ones.

anyway all the best n here's to many more good years and marital bliss!

"I was comparing the view count of this thread with other threads at this section of the forum. Looks like the view count shot up here compared to the other threads. But then again, this is because this is the only active thread in the past few week. "No one bothers" indeed."

It is very normal that readers browse the latest posts to read. If others are bothered and concerned over the migrations, there would be more feedback.

Going by your thoughts.....
"Raise your hands if you think X is smart" (in a similar vein: come forward and voice out loud if you are concerned about the forum migration)
Nobody raises his hands. (nobody bothers to give feedback)
Conclusion: The majority thinks X is not smart because inaction confirms the premise . (silent majority is not concerned over the migration)

"Concerned about the forum migration" are your words by the way.
