Four Seasons Hotel

Starris, then u've to decide base on ur budget. If u're printing alot of cards, ie huge guest lists, then hotstamping will come more economical cos per unit cost will b cheaper.

starris, personally i feel dun spend too much on cards. cos majority of ur guests will read and throw. tat's very common... regardless of how nice the card is.

Four Seasons assigns one person to handle the music and sound system. You can provide as many discs as you want, tell them the order, and they will play the music accordingly for you. No need to worry about changing discs. They will play a piece from the middle of the track if you ask them to. They did that for us for the second march-in. Very impressed with their professionalism.

Hotstamping definitely looks much better, very elegant. The incremental cost is actually not a lot. It is a small amount compared to what you are already spending on the lunch / dinner and wine. While we personally also felt that we did not want to spend too much on the cards, the cards also have to look presentable at least... match the classiness and elegance of Four Seasons mah...

You can also choose to print on inserts if you want to. i think that looks nicer but you have to buy the strings / ribbons for tying and do that yourself.

I prefer the hotstamping to inserts...like what Emma says...more elegant. My dilemma is whether to use FS cards or purchase my own cos FS cards material is quite thin...looks more like paper than card paper.

4seasons has 4 different types of cards to choose from. All very good quality. Found the thickness just right - similar to all other invitation cards.

Starris, are you referring to the card where the translucent paper folds over? That is part of the design isn't it?

We used the square card with the xi on it.

Hi Emma, yah yah, I thought that ones look quite unique. But when I collect the cards, quite disappointed with the material.

Hi Sylvia...no pics sorry. I lend my digi camera to my uncle but you can ask the wedding coordinators to show you.

hi sylvia,

FS is an internationally well known hotel that provides excellent service... wedding included. no worries abt them at all.

Alya, no red wine corkage waiver for me. Only 2 bottles of hard liquor tho. They're sticky on neg.

Astrogirl, strange that the elder ones dunno abt this hotel. Cos even my mum (housewife), who is pretty ignorant, know it's a top notch hotel ard the world. Perhaps they could hav heard of the hotel, but not the exact location...

Dear all brides-to-be

My wedding was last year and I had also took the leaves card. We added ribbons to the card as it looks a bit plain on its own.

Now I have some excess ribbons which I would like to sell off.

Here's a pic of our wedding card:

Anyone interested, pls email me at [email protected]

Hi JJ, that's a good idea. I've sent my cards for printing last sat...I'm doing hotstamping inside and adding hotstamped icons outside as well.

Hi Starris

Adding hotstamped icons r nice too. I've seen a FS bride did this too.

If anyone is interested in getting the ribbons, do drop me an email. I have 4 new rolls with 1 roll partially used.

Welcome to the group Alya!

Tell us more about your AD. When is it? Which ballroom are you taking? How many tables? Who's your wedding coordinator?

crescent ballroom!!
it's going to be at least 12 tables..
Eugene is my coordinator.
oh ! can we swap something for corkage surcharge?
we have not signed yet. still hoping to maybe swap wedding favours for corkage surcharge. think it can work?

alya, dun think it's possible to get corkage waiver for wine...but hard liquor, think they can close one eye and waive a 1-2 bottles.

Wedding favours are chocolates rite? I ever ask for no food testing, cos my in laws are working overseas, but they dun allow me to trade for something else.

Cheers, i'm oso getting crescent ballroom.

ohh hmm..coz i am getting the deluxe (lowest value) menu and looking at Oriental, another place which i like, the menu by Oriental seems to be better?! cost more? like abalone etc.
I am afraid relatives will complain we chose nice place, pay cheap food...
and Oriental's price is the same as FS

hi squeakers,

are the bottles nett? i received the wine menu and it seems that prices have risen.it's minimum $38.I'm also going to have my solemnisation before the wedding dinner. Did u pay for using the Window West room? i have about 60 people who may be attending the solemnisation so i feel that it may be better to have it in another room.

Hi Alya,

Yes, we did pay extra for Windows West. I think the charge was $1,000. (Not sure have to check)As for the wine, we're bringing our own so I'm not very sure about the wines. Maybe you can ask one of the other girls? Sorry I can't help you more on that.

oh ! hmm.. thinking of topping up to get the room. think have to speak to FH about it.
Thanks so much squeakers!!

Alya,

I think it would be nice to have Windows West for your solemnization. (Obviously or else I wouldn't be doing it!) Keep in mind that you can take the decor from the ballroom and use it in Windows West. They will carry it back down for you before the dinner starts. That should save you on decor costs.

hi squeakers

i am so glad to have read ur post about Windows West.
Very happy too , FILs and my parents are most willing to help us with the banquet and we may be topping up the menu as such.
*phew* was so worried that the food will be viewed too "cheap" by relatives.
Weddings are getting so expensive !!! We are looking at spending almost 30K for the entire wedding..gowns etc.

Hi Ladies, i also sign up with Four Seasons for dinner but i got no idea who my coordinator is? Will they initial a call to me when my wedding date draws near or do i need to call them? Thank you.

starris

I'm not sure you can exchange the food tasting for anything... you could always ask. I don't think they view the tasting as an actual 'cost' to them. (Like the favours or invites they can keep for the next wedding, you can't keep a food tasting. Heehee.)
How come you're not having your food tasting?

cherryblossom

Who did you sign the contract with? If I'm not mistaken there are only two wedding coordinators there, Eugene and Georgette. Their name should be on the contract and the packet they give you with all the info.

BenDi

I think it might be easier to contact FS. Not many people on this board are having buffets.

Hi Squeakers, cos they could only arrange the fooodtasting for us on a weekday. It's quite hard to arrange cos both my PIL and parents are working. Also my hubby is out of town this week and I myself is scheduled for a biz trip in the week that he is back. So I thought we may do away the foodtasting. But I just called my coordinator, seems like the foodtasting cost is pretty low so can't really exchange for other things. I will need to arrange again.

Starris, i've enquired abt changing of food tasting to something else too. Cos FIL and my FH are working overseas. Yeah, they oso replied the same thing tat they can't exchange for something else and the cost is pretty low for them.

BTW, can i check wat are the wedding favours tat they are getting?

Will we be able to get a day room for helpers?
I have helpers and i would want them to be comfortable..so exciting..going down to sign tonite

Hi gals

can someone share with me ur package? thinking of signing up with them...
I used to liaise with a gal by the name of 'Dawn' for my rom but in the end due to space constraint, we chose fullerton instead. Can't seems to get hold of her now though.
Thanks

Hi Squeakers,
actually it was my husband who signed with Mr Ho. i will check my package when i get home then. Thanks

Alya,
What a nice date you've got!
