Cheerygal - your package is very worth. have 30L beer and wine! Mine comes with nothing. Just the basic package. Did you sign up at the Sept/Oct 2007 FS Bridal show?Can i see your photos too? Me so eager

Yup, liquor is something tat we are worried of tho not many of our guests are drinkers. But still they finished everything....somemore got to open another 5 bottles of wine. We signed up during FS Oct 03 bridal fair for our wedding in Jan 05....quite early.

hi girls,

Has any of you have pictures of the Crescent ballroom? I may have to trim down my guest list to 15 tables =( i cant possibly increase it to 25 just to meet the requirement for the FS ballroom since now i only have 17 tables. I thought FS will be more flexible in terms of minimum tables since i'll be holding a lunch...=(

I do not have the pics of the Cresent Ballroom but i have been to the ballroom personally. There was a wedding in the night and i went in the afternoon, the setup was already up. Oh boy! It was nice! But i guess you gotto believe with your own eyes...

Hi lamb,

Sent the contact & pic to u oledi. I got the red tulle & ribbon from a shop at Concourse. Each piece of tulle is $0.60...can wrap only 4 mugs. Each roll of ivory colour (a bit shiny type) is $4.50. Not tat ex tho. But, trouble is tat u need to wrap them yourself. For my case, qty is only 320 so still can manage pretty well.

Jan as in Jan06? I think you need to call FS up fast since it looks like they are a very popular place for weddings. =)

I also read this thread for all the advices the other brides like Cheerygal gave. Very useful. Can't give much advices yet because mine is Mar06. But so far, during the 3 times I have been down to FS, I really love the place and the attention/ serivce my coordinator gave us.

Do give them a call or email them to arrange for an appointment to see the ballrooms and discuss the packages. =)

I've made up my mind. confirm wanna book with FS now =) thinking of going down this week to meet georgette. Any tips? should i straight away bargain for extras? does she even give extras?

never done this before so i'm not really sure how to go about doing it, what questions to ask, etc...for those of u who's been through it, can give me some pointers? =P like what to bargain for etc...altho i've heard that FS is kinda stingy with extras...hee
 
hi phine, u can check out the directory at singaporebrides. there're quite a few wedding favour companies with reasonable price.

Great! U can try to negotiate for waiver of corkage for X bottles of wine, day-use room, xtra parking coupons, candles for table-setting, seat covers, etc. Think free seat covers & xtra parking coupons shouldnt be a prob.

You definitely wont regret. We also didnt been to other hotels b4 deciding to book FS. We engaged our own entertainers cos wanna do something diff. My BS is Silverlining Bridal Couture.

my AD is in early 07..so guess this will give me time to sort out with my planner..saw in one of the thread tt there r couples who book 2 yrs plus before hand???

Your AD is still a long way more to go. Maybe u can wait to see if FS has any bridal show coming up. Last year, FS had one in Apr & another one in Oct. U can still afford to wait even till Oct.

When we booked FS for our Jan 05 wedding in Oct 03, we were the only ones who booked for 05 wedding. Guess, FS is not the very hot type of hotels for wedding.

did u book urs during the show? is it true tt they r realli rigid abt giving additional freebies?
 
I see. I booked mine during their bridal show. yes, they are quite rigid in terms of giving freebies esp. liquor. U should make an appt with FS coordinator & try to negotiate for some freebies. Then ask them to block out your date first while you are deciding. They will contact u if there is another couple who wanted your date too.

i havent seen the ballrm yet hahaha. Gotta cut down on lotsa pple loh, but having guestlist of 15 tables, i wonder at the last min will anyone not turn up.
 
Oh ya...i may be having several overseas guests. Do any of u know how much is the special rate given by FS for that?
