Hi kenshare,

Likewise, iam not preparing additional favors.

Schnauzie,

It depends on your guest list. My friend who got married recently use up about 32 bottles of wines. If your guest comprises mainly drinkers then 24 - 30 should suffice.

In term of beer, anyone getting the barrel? We calulated, if get the barrel, it's merely saving of $10 so we decide to go by glasses.

The smaller barrel is about 60 glasses.

Hi Kenshare,

Each barrel is about 60 glasses instead of 65 glasses. For 1st pour is about 1 jug of foam instead of beer. If you choose to order by glasses, it is $10 +++.

Honestly, most guest will choose wine over beer. I guess prob only my relatives will go for beer. haha.. Most of my guests are drinkers and caucasians as well.. All of them drink like a fish. I was thinking of asking them to go for whisky instead when all wines is comsumed. Mixers is free flow for 4 hours.. haha.. That's what my friend did.. His bestman went around passing hard liqour to those thirsty guests. Note.. it was at Raffles hotel. haha..

Just wondering how i should put it accross to them. :p

Hi Jojo,

It's about $800 plus (before taxes) for the most basic menu.

hi kenshare..my wedding is next sunday and everyone is chasing me for things, my parents want the table plan, my emcee wants the wedding schedule..everyone wants a part of me and i am feelin more tired than excited. moreover, the date is so close and now i am having an anxiety attack! ;p

compassrose - i initially catered for 1 barrel of beer but feedback from frens who got married recently shows tt the consumption of beer has been increasing..maybe i shld ask them to ask me by the glass after the first barrel? wat to u think?

Hi Schnauzie,

Stay coolz. You must get enuff beauty sleep and rest until your actual day. Remember it's your day and don't let all the nagging affect u. Time flies ya, I remember all of us was just sharing my experience in preparation. It all seems like yesterday.. haha

If you foresee your guests will be drinking more beers, then it make more sense to order the barrel instead. And it's a good idea to order by glasses after the barrel is suck dried. haha.. I don't reckon a second barrel can be comsumed within the same nite.
happy.gif
You must assign someone to take care of all these ya.. liase with the banquet manager. Usually, the best man will be a good choice cuz you and your hubby will be bz entertaining the guests.

Hi Tansy,

Noticed that bride and groom are given a different chair ya. haha..

I am not doing the cake cutting. Anyone with me? ut don't mind if FS put up the wedding cake on the stage as decor.

Yes, the couple will b given a bigger and more plush chair to sit, facing the rest of the guest.

For beer consumption, if u hav a huge guest list, it's good to get a barrel and 2nd one go by per glass since the difference is not alot. For my case i opt for all per glass basis, and the consumption was definitely way below a barrel. Most ppl drank wine even tho it was a luncheon. We had abt 30+ bottles of wine for 14 tables.

Dear all,

I went for my food tasting today. Just wanna share my few cents worth.

For those who opt for deluxe menu.

Jellyfish in the cold dishes is quite yucky. Personally, i dun like it. I am gona change it. Opt for prawn salad, it's good.

Seasonal vegetable is Asparagus with wolfberry, lily bulbs etc.

If you dun like it, you can change it from Asparagus to Brocoli, it's a good alternative.

For teochew BTB like me, the yam paste is not bad but honestly by the end of all the 8 courses. The stomach will not be able to fit in such heavy desert. Creme of mango with pomelo will be a more refreshing option. (most ppl choose that)

In terms of centre piece, FS has the rose ball as one of the choices. It's beautiful however i am not sure if extra charges is required ya.

Glad to know that i am not alone. I told my coordinator that i wanted to scrap it and he was saying that most ppl gave it a miss nowadays. He seen some of them actually brought in their own cake and serve it to the guest.

Is that any questions that we need to check with them before AD. Some minor issue that has a big impact.

Anyone did tea session at FS. Do they provide tea pot?

hey compassrose,
I asked about bringing in our own cake. To serve to the guest, I think Eugene mentioned that its $3/slice.

Are you planning to hold Tea session at FS?
Where will it be held? At the reception area?
Me thinking of doing tat too....

Hi Kenshare,

Oh.. why $3 per slice? Do you get it from FS's vendor? Or else, no additional cost should incurred. It's a wonderful idea ya. I saw in bridal magazine, cupcakes are a hit in wedding. My cousin made a strawberry cheese cake, topped with fresh strawberry. Yummy, but with a price ya.

Yes, i was thinking of having tea session at the reception area. But Lewis was saying on that day, there might be a lucheon hence depend of timing, i may have it in the room. I checked today, they can provide the usual white tea pot.

Hi schnauzie,

Mine should be after your's. hee. We are March BTB. I think i saw pics of the suite somewhere in the archive. They have a basin in the toilet. A plus point.

Hi Compassrose,
No, not FS Vendor.
I asked about bringing my own wedding cake. Initially, I had a thought to cut the wedding cake and serve to the guests. But Eugene told me that if FS were to serve the cake, it would be $3/slice.

Come to think of it, does anyone know how does Four Seasons do the first dish thing? Do they do the dramatic march in with the food to some matrix song or something?

Hi there,

I just signed up with Four Seasons Hotel for wedding in 2008. Loved the smaller ballroom in first sight.

I must agree that FS is indeed very stingy with giving perks etc etc. Even if we have asked for exchange of 1 of our menu dish with free wine corkage or free barrel of beer, there was a firm no-no.

However, we still went ahead with it, as we deeply felt that the classy setting was quite irreplaceable, especially after viewing sheraton, raffles and hyatt hotel.

Hi all FS BTBs,

Have shortlisted Four Seasons as my wedding banquet dinner venue. Their main ballroom looks nice from the website.

Can recommend a good coordinator (i.e. good after sales service) I should approach?

Thanks!

Hi Kenshare,

My wedding at FS was great and we had a wonderful 2 night stay at the hotel. The banquet captain & manager was on the ball, provided us excellent services. 2 thumbs up for FS.

Hi shann, mine was Lewis Low. He is very prompt in follow up.

Hi Afro Head,

Yes. FS is famous for being sticky. haha.. You can try for a couple wine bottles waiver. That should not be a problem. The foods was great, even for my hubby's relatives who came from HK were giving their nodding approval. Rest assured your big day will be well taken care of by them.

Hi Chilli

I had my wedding luncheon back in 2004 and it was great..got plenty of time to mingle with guests. Shouldnt be a problem..just need to state the Luncheon clearly in the invitation cards..(because it is usually dinner banquet)..Cocktail starts at 12.30 & Lunch commences at 1pm..We have plenty of time compared to dinner. People tend to rush off by the 6-7 dish for dinners...For luncheon, everyone takes it slowly. It is so much more relaxed. We ended our luncheon at around 3.30pm..after which we had our tea ceremony at the Paterson Room at Level 6...They provided the chairs and tea cups and teapot..But in the end, we used our own as my aunties felt that teacup/teapot should be new not a re-used one...We ended with lots of phototaking..Everyone left by 5.30pm. Me and my hubby even went for a bite at Scotts! I still dream abt the wedding till today!! Now, I've already got 1 little boy

hi shann,

his email address is [email protected], you can request for the details and pricing. I believe if you comfirm this year, it will be based on this year pricing but prevailing GST rates.. Of cuz, it's never to early to book once u decided on the venue.

Hi Cat,

didn't know that is a Paterson Room, i did my tea session at the foyer of cresent ballroom. Great service rendered by them, they even prepared red dates tea for us.

Hi Kat, thanks for sharing! great arrangements!
did u have to tell FS way before hand that u wanted a tea ceremony? did they charge extra for the Paterson Room?

Compassrose, did u also have to tell them when u signed up that u need them to arrange the foyer for tea ceremony?

kikis

Hi Chilli, no problems
happy.gif

Yes, I did tell FS earlier that I will need a place for the tea ceremony..The Paterson Room fits only up to about 30 people..We had more than that but people were more than happy to stand around...There is the lovely Window East function room at the 20th floor (same floor as the swimming pool) which you can use..maybe at a cost. I had that lovely room for my ROM..Ask the managers for a look at that place..I'm still in love with that room. It has a small balcony at the end of the room which looks out at the Orchard road area. It would be excellent for a large group tea ceremony..Yes, Compassrose, they did the red date tea for us as well and a Hotel staff standing by to see whether we need anything. Other guests can be served iced water as well while waiting for their turn.

Opps, forgot to answer your question..No we didnt have to pay extra for the Paterson Room..maybe because we did ROM and the AD banquet in that same year and in the same hotel as well..They gave us the room free but could not give in to the other many requests that I wanted..
