I have been in this line for the past 4 years and still love my job so much!...

A teacher with dip - starting salary would be abt 1.4k (most meagre) to about 1.6k (if ur lucky enuff). once u have at least 1 - 3 yrs exp u can ask about 1.7k - 1.8k. But nowadays market really bad.. usually the bosses will try to push the salary to the very minimal.
If ur finding a CC for ur child - shd look out for teacher's qualification, the kind of curriculum the school offers, hygiene practices and also the teacher:child ratio.

I am also currently a principal in a CC. Hoping to do a master in ECE this july.
I agree wif u that the salary for early childhood teacher is not so high. But I guess its the job satisfaction that count. I love spending time wif my children. And I still teach for 45 min everyday so that I can keep in contact with the children.

I am also currently a principal in a CC. Hoping to do a master in ECE this july.

me too, intend to do a career switch and is looking at EC education. will most likely be taking the specialist dip next year, if i've really made up my mind by then!
worse to worse, if after studying doesn't wanna teach, can apply on my girl who just turn 2 yrs old

I am also in the CC line currently a Principal. From the perspective of centre, if you are a newbie in company, chances of sending you for course r quite low and also u need to sign bond with company for at least 2 years or more. This is my first time looking through the SingaporeBrides Forum and I was so excited when I saw Topic "Early Childhood". I joined this line 2 years back after quiting from office job and has finished a year of my study in ECC (2 more years to go). I REALLY enjoyed working with the kids and I have good chemistry with them too. However....sad to say, having to pay the expensive school fees and to support my family, somehow, I have to be forced to go back to office work, which I am so reluctant to do so...I am now caught in a difficult spot...I don't know what to do...wanting to do something I love yet have to be responsible enough to take care of the financial status of the family...sigh

hi all, i would like to check what the pay should be now for a kindergarten teacher in PAP with a diploma in Early childhood teaching $ leadership from Ngee Ann poly with 2 years kindergarten experience? the pay that my friend is getting now without a cert is $1190. now that she has a diploma as stated above, should her center revised her pay as soon as she get her dip or wait till next year? what shld her pay be like now for pap kindergarten?

- Cheerful, enthusiastic, energetic with passion for children
- Willing to learn, takes initiative
- Strong command of Spoken English
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Min. 1 year of experience in teaching pre-school children (those with experience serving in, for example, Church Children Ministries are welcome to apply)
- Age: 18 - 65
- Only Singaporeans or Singapore PRs need apply
