Change of proposal ring

What do you all think of changing your proposal ring? Example to change it into another design. Do you think the meaning will be lost? Most concerned about this...

I am thinking of keeping the original stone. But change the setting and add some small diamonds on the band.

Reason for changing is because I intend to wear it after marriage with wedding band. Hence, looking to change it to a design that I prefer more.

Any thoughts?

I recently got a proposal ring which was ordered online from here. It is the beautifully designed and a fashion jewellery, would never thing of changing it. But for your case I would suggest to ask for the one who gifted you the ring,as he matters the most.
