It will take about 2 wks or less. Depending how fast the person in charge from town council how fast he respond to ur request. heard that generally the new estates will be faster.

Hi,

my contractor told me burmese parquet is more expensive than indonesian parquet, is it true?

wat is e difference?

thanks

Hi all, reviving this thread as Im intending to do cement screed for my new house without tiles or laminatings to obtain the industrial look.
Would the cement screeding done by HDB be sufficient for use on it's own? Many many thanks !!

Hi pharme! Good to hear that! I thought a contractor may need to layer to make it waterproof etc...
That means a has to be put up to ensure HDB does a good and smooth job ya? Just afraid it may turn out uneven.
Thanks thanks!

as far as i know, waterproofing is only needed for bathrooms. Other floor areas can do without. Yes, unevenness it's inevitable, it's not that a big problem. what should be of concern will be cracking, if you don't mind. A solution to this would be to ask them to lay metal strips in between to fight the expansion/contraction of cement, that's causing the cracks. Also mine was done with different cement/sand ingredients, resulting in one area giving a different finish compared to the other. That i dont mind, but should watch them closely if this matters to you.

im getting my keys tis november...should i engage my own contractor or HDB to do the cement screed?..some of u guys had worst experience n only few get a good job done...kinda dilema here..
