Hi JS&TT

I read somewhere on this forum that Dr Anamah Tan is quite good. But I have not had my ROM as well and have not attended any weddings solemnised by her, so can't give my comments.

Here's her website and contact number. Hope this helps.

Tel: 6225 5822 (ask to speak to her secretary cos she's always busy)

Hi,

I had my ROM at Changi Sailing Club and my JP is Mr Chan Kai Yau. He really made the whole atmosphere so touching and memorable! I would highly recommend him... He spoke in english followed by mandarin. Good friendly JP!

Thumbs UP...

Hi All,

Does anyone have any JP to recommend?

My AD is in Oct 06 and now I'm really panicking as there's a huge list of JPs and Grassroots leaders and so on and so forth but we do not know exactly which one is good. (good as in do not read out the vows from the paper, that's the minimum I expect)

Will anyone be able to help?

I don't have Mrs Chia Swee Tin's pic - but I can tell you that the solemnization ceremony she conducted is really VERY GOOD!! My friend used her as their JP, she made the couple write their own vows (can be quite stressful) but it was very meaningful cos everything they said came from the heart. It not only made the couple cry, but it made a lot of pple in the audience cry.

BUT! one thing abt Mrs Chia is she can be a little demanding. E.g. She expects you to pick her up and send her home on that day and has a specific way she wants to be introduced. But i would say all the trouble is worthwhile cos she makes the ROM so meaningful and memorable.

Hi Zannn
I am looking for a JP and i am quite interested in Mrs Chia. Can u elaborate more on her 'uniqueness'? :p
So, the marriage vows are DIY and not the conventional vows?
Ermm.. and she wanna to be fetch and send her home one huh?? So 'big-shot'??
sad.gif
You are not kidding rite?? I thot most of the JP are quite 'independent'? :p

Hi Goldfish1395,

Mrs Chia is unique in the sense that she doesn't follow the conventional vows but makes the couple say their own vows. Besides, the things that she says before the solemnization is also very meaningful e.g. "Now please exchange your rings. When the crowd is gone and your life is back to normal, this ring will remind you of your commitment to each other. And if you realised, the wedding band is round and has no ending, which symbolises that there is no end to this marriage. It is forever." It was so touching leh!!!

But it's true that she is quite "big shot". We have to fetch her to and fro, send someone to pick her up when she drops at the hotel. She even called the groom to scold him on his wedding day bcos he has not informed her what time he is gonna pick her up. Horrible!

Btw, anyone knows of any Mandarin-speaking JP besides Mr Chan Kai Yau? I called Mr Chan and he says he doesnt solemnize weddings on Sundays. Very SAD!!!!

hi,

I am new here, I just called Mr Chan and he already has 10 invitations for solemnization on the day I chose for my ROM (9th June 2007). Having read all the good comments about him, I still booked him for 5pm although I had orginally planned on noon. Wonder if it's a wise decision since he may be tired. I'd like to ask if anyone has met with this common situation previously? Please advise! Thanks.

Lynn
