interesting article. i tend to agree with the main points - that when a brand becomes too accessible to the masses, it loses its snob factor.
compare coach to LV - the latter doesn't push out too many collections and when you buy a new bag, you can be assured that the design will remain 'relevant' for at least several yrs. or even become a classic.. and prices are never discounted. whereas for coach, the collections come and go so fast.. what is a new design this month might become 'out' in a couple of months. heh, like if i see someone carrying a coach these days, i do wonder how much she paid for it and where was it from. and from the sound of it, coach outlets really sound like the bargain galore. all good for the consumer now, but will the brand suffer?
