Any Coach handbags fan here ???

maybe i always end up liking stuff tt is not available in the local coach store that's why i end up buying online. i agree with lilacgal, the things sold online sometimes are very nice and limited editions some more. and online prices still beat the DFS prices with 30%+ 15% discount.

for eg, i got the white hampton large hobo that is retailing for 600plus locally at only 330. that's still less than DFS after discount. and local stores did not carry the hobo in white, only had beige and black which i didn't like.

having said that, i am still keen to get the DFS card. =) any idea how to go about doing so?
 


jules, not all the online items will beat dfs 30% + 15% disc....but for the wristlet u just bought...yes is cheaper than dfs disc

u can either get the application form fr dfs cust svc or download the form fr diners website...look for diners dfs ccard...

for coach fans...i tik tis card is worth applying

hey rae i also was eyeing this bag!! just that i wanted the one in white.. saw it on sale online just last 2 weeks ago for 440SGD, so bang that i saw it too late! thought i saw it in raffles city coach outlet.. not sure of retail price though..

lilacgal- how much do u need to pay per year for diners dfs card? not sure if worth it if need to pay a lot since i buy stuff online and never before at DFS. do they waive membership fees for like the 1st year?
 
hey rae, i dun rem seeing the one in gold here...think the price is $755 if i rem correctly...hv seen orange, pink, classic black, brown at dfs coach...think sg carry different colors from the states...

I heard from esterlla that it's free for the first year. She or someone in her family has the card. Told me it's worthwhile to get Coach during the storewide sale,I feel she's very sincere as a seller.

I helped my SIL enquire about the snake trim tote that is OOS in Singapore. Her quoted price is still very close to 30% +15% DFS discount, maybe just a bit more,but less than $50 more. My SIL is tempted, but esterlla said she is OOS for these totes as the bags are either reserved by her regulars or sold. Looks like my SIL has no luck.

I was at DFS and saw the bag you like for $645.Very expensive to buy in the boutique.

mongmong, why dun u ask esterlla to keep an eye for that snake trim tote ur SIL wants? then if they have it in US, she can bring it in and sell to ur SIL. no harm trying. Maybe that's why sometimes she lists bags on her auctions that are titled "sold/reserved" from day one.

rae... the one you posted is the smaller one, the strap can't be adjusted... only can carry over your shoulder... my friend bot the orange one.. i got 25% discount for her, original is about $500 plus.. not $755... the bigger one is more ex, strap adjustable, about $600 plus...

mongmong, the bag that i bot not selling in US.. US only selling the 'taller' version. singapore sold out for white one... orange still available.

She did tell me that not all models available in US boutiques are listed on Coach.com, so Coach.com is not a good guage of what is available in US. She told me initially when she had this bag, people thought it was a fake as it was not Coach.com. When it was out in the boutique, then people started asking her, by then, most were reserved by her regulars.

She quoted me $480 ( best price) and it's about $30 more than if I manage to get DFS 30%+15% because my SIL says it's not 45%, but only 40% off, because it's 15% of the 30%. She likes the gold one which is OOS, but esterlla is OOS for both gold and white.


The large tote in gold is too big for my SIL,but she quoted $550 (best price) for the large tote.

She said she will keep me posted, but no promises as she has got some of her regulars requesting for this tote as well. I wonder if she does earn anything by almost selling at her cost price ( without taxes somemore). My SIL ask me why I care, if I can get authentic Coach at reasonable US prices. Beats having to fly there. : )

I think I kept calling her mobile to ask so many questions. Her handphone bills must have soared sky high this month and all I bought from her is a coin purse...ha ha ha...tough life as a seller for her. I won't want to be in her shoes.

Your bao bei is nice. I also asked to view the bag yesterday but now she's selling the small one...too small for my PDA/wallet/umbrella. She said she does not have the large one anymore.
 
mongmong, singapore coach SA told me before that if a design is sold in singapore coach boutiques but not listed on coach website, it means that it is no sold in the US at all... coach has international agreements not to have the exact same design selling in every country. maybe that online seller has her own lobangs.. i wouldn't be surprised if she is a coach employee in singapore and managed to get staff price??? just wondering... of cos she wouldn't say she is, cos company policy doesn't allow them to buy at staff price and sell..
 
ya i agree with Cecilia.. maybe tis online seller is indeed employee of coach in sg.. cos hor she has got alot of new designs ley.. even the latest "old" lookin patchwork designs..

I agree with your SIL.. just concentrate on how cheap u are getting ur bags for lah =) as long as u are certain of authenticity that is. sellers will have their ways of earning one mah.. even if it looks difficult to earn. who will do a business that makes her lose money right?? =)

just msg esterlla lah.. or email her. she very prompt in replying one.. actually the small hamptons bag is not a bad size.. very neat looking when slung on shoulder and should be big enough for umbrella, wallet and PDA without any problem! u can test it out first at coach boutique if not sure.. the big one is really very big!! can stuff in books, sweater and all the barang u want. and if u dun put in enough things, the whole thing will become a bit flat..then not nice and round liao. frankly, if i knew she was bringing in the small one, i would have bought the small one and not the big one.. can consider ah!

dun like the old looking patchwork designs.. like dirty dirty like that. but maybe it would be good for me, since i always inadvertently dirty my bags anyway!! then won't be so obvious huh?
 
jules, i wouldn't want to see this thread being deleted... actually how sure are you that she is telling the truth? i met notorious online sellers from yahoo before.. so i'm a bit restrained from buying on line nowadays...

Hm,you are right. maybe someone in her family is working in Coach, then she can get it in the same packaging as DFS and her designs are those on Coach.com. As long it's authentic, I am happy since it's cheaper than boutique.

My SIL asked her US colleague if can get this bag before we asked esterlla, so apparently the colleague posted to work in US for 2 months, says can, but quoted US$325 (after tax) which is more expensive than esterlla.So that is why I think it's available in US as well, otherwise, her Singaporean colleague won't be able to get it. Maybe DFS has separate agreement.

Don't know esterlla was telling me something different about the brand names under DFS with DFS having separate contract with the brand names and Coach taka/RC is under different management. So DFS sometimes carry different things from the main boutique. She was telling me it's the same for Gucci, but I blur lor, don't know what's talking about, but kept nodding my head as if I do.
 
ya... diff management for DFS and coach taka/raffles... some stuff DFS has but not boutiques and vice versa...but what i mean is coach.com and singapore on general...

I think you have reasons for not buying online, so there's no point trying to prove who's right and who's wrong.

For myself and jules, we have bought and verified the bags as real stuff, so we are convinced. For her regulars who kept buying ( as I can see from her ratings), i am sure they are convinced as well.

I am sure I will continue to buy from the boutique since she don't have all the models, but for those models she has, I will consider buying since it's cheaper. Like for youself, you can 25% but the rest of us can,so it's really different avenues to get the same bag.

Anyway, we are all Coach lovers, so let's chill out and rave about Coach, alright?
 
cecilia, the one rae posted is the bigger duffle cost usd258, smaller one is usd198....hee tats how i differentiate the 2...cos tat time my frend ask me to check the price of the big one for her and i rem roughly it was sgd755 and after 30% + 15%, it would cost abt sgd449 lor...

jules, ic so this is the white wkend hobo tat u bought...my frend bought this range the brass colour messenger sling bag….i agree tat for this hobo shape, if u dun put enuff barang, the bag will look too flat and not tat nice...so ensure u dump in all your stuff! :P

cannot deny, we are all curious and want to know exactly how these sellers got the coach from…..although we cannot be sure where….but since many have proven the bags authenticity then I tik we shdnt be probing too much for an answer on their ‘actual’ source...becos tis is after all still their business (whether they made loss or profit, we shdnt b worrying at the end of the day) as we r eventually only the consumers (we shd only be more concerned in ensuring tat we r getting authentic stuff)...

lilacgal, the small one selling for only $198 in US?? wa.. thats like $300+ only in US... that's why i tot the one rae posted in the small one.. my friend bot the small one.. but not during sale... if bot during sale even cheaper liao...

but nowadays no mood buy coach liao.. see some designs i like but scared will see a lot of same design on the streets...

I totally agree with you, after my SIL told me why I should care about their source, so long it's authentic and we get it cheaper than boutique. Whereever her source is, I just needed the bags I bought to be authentic.

A really big thanks to you for letting us know about this lobang! You must get esterlla to give you more discount. I am sure she will as she seems to be a very nice lady. Oh, you mean she actually comes to SB? Then all the more, we must support our own SB...i did heard from her she's getting married soon,maybe that's why she comes in. But I didn't say I know her through SB forum.
 
honestly, even if esterlla is lying about not being a coach employee, which i think she isn't, it doesn't bother me much, as i know for sure that what i am getting is the genuine authentic product, at a much cheaper price that is in the boutique.. esp since i dun have the DFS card yet. but once i get hold of the DFS card, i for sure will head for DFS to buy stuff, esp if they carry styles that the online sellers don't. like all women, we just want to get the best deal possible right? =) I don't know enough about coach to figure out what possible sources these online sellers are getting their bags from, but like lilacgal said, i am only concerned that we are getting authentic stuff.. also, certain older and classic models which may no longer be carried in local outlets may be available online too.. well what i can say is, to each his own! as long as we are all happy about the pretty new coach bags we own can already right?? COACH forever!!! =)

lilacgal- is the coach sale at DFS still on?? if so, when is it until? if they carry the duffle rae posted, i may consider getting.. 449 is cheap!! and i only brought out my wkend hobo once.. it's sitting quietly in my cupboard now cos i have decided to bring it out to quiet clean places and not to crowded shopping centres anymore!! =)

toking abt carrying same designs....i hv not seen anyone hving the same coach as me so far.....i tik coach is getting common but still not easy to bump into someone with the same bag......haha not like gucci and LV...i hv been aiming on a LV design but i hv alr seen so many pple carrying it! haha tik is even more common than coach lor...:P

jules, think is only storewide for '3' days? i dunno exactly how many days storewide but i hv gone on the 1st and 2nd day then cos i happened to take leave those 2 days to catch up on gss :P

i tik tat big duffle no longer on sale already(only left the orange last piece on 2nd day i went)...now as usual dfs coach will only hv some selected designs on 30%....

LV is like the most common brand locally, then gucci. hope coach still remains less popular.. then maybe prices won't rocket the way LV prices are doing

Just to share with you. My colleague help me buy a LV epi 6cc wallet for SG$400 (Euro$215)after minus tax in Italy. If you buy in France, it will be cheaper by 5%. As for Gucci wallet, my colleague bought 8cc with coin for SG$460 (after minus tax) in Italy which the boutique sell in Sg is at $600 now. just to share with you all...
 
end of july probably ino...actually every less than 2 months they will launch new collection. but in between will have those limited editions... i asked the SA last may and she told me end of next month.. but this june can expect something after the patchwork ba... july seem too long liao...

i have her mobile. Do you want it? I just got a hobo from her on weekend and my friend got a wallet. She was in town to collect her Coach bag after repairs, so she went with us to the boutique to verify since she's in town.

But she's very sure of authenticity, she told my friend that if it's not authentic, she will rightaway refund more than what we paid for, however, she has to be with us during verification. She said she's scared that people swapped out the bags as it happens frequently in US & Europe, but never here yet. If you verify yourself in the boutique, she will gladly refund all your money back if not authentic.

She said it's not top secret how you can get discount in US. You can either get it in factory outlets or Macy,but I asked her how she gets it in packaging like DFS, she said you can just tell the boutique/ departmental store not to remove the plastic and that you don't want to check the bag. But most of sales assistant will remove that to put the bag into the dustbag.

End results : 100% Authentic, like DFS packaging.
