Amara Sanctuary

hi Vic
i'm having Western food, and it's pretty good.
i dont tink food quality is the problem. it's the sales/marketing staff and service. i really hate it that i am running the show myself and the coordinator is MIA. i'm doing it because my big day and i cant risk leaving it to people who so far have not lived up to promises. setting very beautiful tho.

@Ashley: Nope I'm asking for another night's complimentary stay but I can't get it.

@ Tracy: Who's your planner Is he Rayston?

Hi Tracy,
Your feedback is indeed reassuring. Thanks! I'm looking at the Western menu too!

I liaise with Rayston and he has been quite helpful and accommodating thus far. I'll probably leave the running of the show to my friends... hopefully this relieve some of my stress.

would like some feedback from you all here. Do you think AS is accessible? I've had feedbacks from my parents and relatives telling me Sentosa is 'far'. Although I don't understand that rational as most of them are driving... Thoughts?

another tots...my relatives from Malaysia...my bf's side, include parents and relatives from as far as Ipoh..

Never heard any complaints from them at all...since they bother to drive all the way so far to Singapore to attend my wedding.

Is a blessing!

HI Tracy,

Mind sharing your package with me? I am also thinking of having a Western Lunch wedding but still have not decided on a venue.

hi Misspiggy
My package was signed in Sep 08. I think you'll probably get a better price plus perks now since everyone's fighting for business. Amara seems to have cleaned up their act recently. Good thing Irene left. I didn't like her. The others are OK. They seem to realise they are lacking in customer service and now brushing up their standards.

Yup, I do agree with that observation. I recently met up with Rayston. He seems attentive and quite interested in closing the deal. Service is pretty prompt also.

My wedding coordinator is Rayston..yup he's a nice chap, not like what the others have said bad things of him.

I give 3 thumbs up for Rayston! Rayston Jia You!, dont let pple look down on you.

Artono Jia You!...i miss your smile and laughters too!

Hi Jaskin/Asley,

Apologise I wasn't reading this thread. Can you email me at [email protected]. I can share more of my perks and experience.

Actually, i have a different view about Alfred. He sounded of course alot of "ah tas" but he was less willing accommodative to request. The initial package he gave was totally bare. When I asked for the "standard items" which other hotels give i.e. wine, extra night, more flowers, beer...etc, he wanted to charge me alot more. So pissed that I wanted to walk away. So if your package was signed during his time, it is no fault of the current catering team. I think Irene is more approachable and willing to accommodate. And lots of service recovery for Alfred.

Anyway, will tell you more when you email me.

Just want to share with the rest on AS.

We got attended to by Samuel, the asst sales mgr. Very prompt and efficient response so far. We went down for site visit recently, me and fh are very pleased with the place. However, we couldn't get much perks to top-up the published rom package from http://www.singaporebrides.com/hotels/amara_sanctuary/index.htm. They seem to be very strict and inflexible in negotiation.

If there are other AS couples, pls do share with me any complimentary you guys got beside the package?

hi also considering AS for next year.

for past AS couples - Do they waive off the entry to Sentosa for guest? also, if ur guests dun drive, what are the public transport options?

hi vocikit, entry will be waived for guests who dun drive as long as they show their invitation cards. for driving guests, there is complimentry tickets for 20% of the total guests. the rest will need to pay $2 for entry.
public transport - amara sanc provides shuttle bus services from harbourfront.
i went to amara sanc to reccee the location tonight and hence managed to get alot of information from the coordinator. hope this helps

Can I check with you gals if the package comes with an extra bottle of champagne (besides the one for toasting) or comes with massages or spa?
Thanks.

hi everyone
Just to close the loop. I had my wedding at AS. Banquet went well - all kudos to Alan of Banquet. All in all, I feel that AS' wedding coordinators are rather terrible and lack initiative. Perhaps because they are new. But the Banquet staff are really quite something - attentive, prompt, responsive and responsible. Alan stayed till about 3am making sure everything was OK including our little after-party in the rooms. So I just wanted to share with everyone. And oh, AS' was just beautiful on the day with the floral decoration.

thanks pompompurin.

can i check with you gals, what will be the perfect wedding gift or surprise you'd like to receieve?

Or what is something you'd like to have added in your wedding package?

I am planning something special for my brother and future sis-in-law who are going to hold their wedding at AS.

Thanks in advance!

hi tracy, i agree that the corridinator is quite inexperienced. somehow as compared to other hotels, i have the impression that things can screw up on my big day, it's like i have no confidence in them hah.
do you have pictures to show for your wedding? would love to see your beautiful pics! if you dun mind, you can share with me your link or mail me at [email protected].

Dumbo > i would like to have a band during my wedding and have my close relatives and friends to sing songs and see themselves enjoying themselves!

wondering if anyone signed with AS yet? am about to, but still quite uncomfortable with the lack of perks - be it wine or beer supply.

hi vocikit, what did AS offer to you? maybe i can share with you mine as well. if you would like to discuss, you can drop me a mail at [email protected]. my coordinator was pretty accommodating to our requests. i really like AS, but my hubby felt it was too out of the way for our guests so we did not take that up in the end. it was not the perks, it's just the location. i viewed the actual setup before, one word - beautiful.

hi.. i'm thinking of sigining up at AS. Did anyone work with Samuel before or Rayton? how are they like? are they easy to work with? is the service good? are they able to deliver? What is your experience?

hi tracy you have pics of your wedding? do share? will be keen to look at the decor and all...

now i'm in the midst of preparing for my wedding, but i find the invitation cards totally cannot make it... quality of the paper is like recycled paper, and design is so-so... anyone managed to swop the invite cards for anything else, like rooms or wine or beer or etc??

faithz > agree. their cards and wedding favours cannot make it. you cannot swop for rooms since the price is so different. i remembered i nego for a few corkage waiver or something. can't remember....

berinda > Samuel is quite ok chap.

i am about to sign with AS. they everything also cannot one. took me quite a bit just to get a really small discount on the extra room i asked for.

Not recommended if you are trying to squeeze freebies.

iluvpurin>> don't even know whether we can stress them to upgrade their cards and favours lor... don't even know whether their senior management gives a hoot judging from rants of previous posts... fainted... when is your wedding?? in the end where did you do your cards??

Hi,
I've signed up with the AS sometime ago. Just saw the cards and favours. they have such a beautiful place but the cards and favours do not match up to the image

faith17, i think hard for them to upgrade the cards. personally i think the cards are not ugly, maybe their management feels the same way too, just that the cards are too simple, plain and boring as compared to cards from other hotels. as for favours, i have tot of doing away with their favors and ask for additonal corkage cos their favours simply cannot make it. some are ugly, like the bell keychain. the chopsticks looks okay but cheap. honey is damn common.

my wedding is in Oct 2010, still far... i did not sign up with AS in the end. i took up another hotel instead and their cards and favours are very nice so no need to change.

i agree with oringina23, that the place is really beautiful. too bad my hubby dun like it. otherwise we would have sign up with them.

Hi Ladies!

Can anyone PM me details of your AS packages?
I've met up with the coordinator but I'm unsure what kinda perks to ask for..

is it reali tt bad? I signed with AS last yr... now the reviews are scaring me.. We asked for corkage wavier... but they onli can do the minimium.. i didnt noe that their wedding favours cannot make it..

Hey joanne, can you share with me your package details? I've seen their wedding cards and favours last week.. not that fantastic. Have not asked for anything extra from them as yet..

Hi YS, my coordinator was Rayston. He is rather green, but a little prodding should work. He didn't have the favors with him when we met, so, I am not sure what they look like either.

oh.. there's a bell favour, a key favour, glass photoframe coaster, mini bottled honey, chopsticks with XI wordings and one more item which i can't recall now.. not very fanstastic compared to other hotels.. Hilton hotel has loads of very nice favours though..

iluvpurin >> which hotel did you eventually take up with? good for you...

actually the only reason i signed up was just the ballroom... everything else is well, eh, can only say just have to find alternatives lor...

Anyone know when was the last AS roadshow? I'm rather uncertain if i should wait for roadshow or i should just sign up now.

Hi tmtgirl,

I am in the same dilemma as you too. Was considering the AS package but still quite skeptical after reading through the comments. You mind to share your AS package with me? I can share with you my package too?
