Hi Sok Hoon,
Simone is Amanda's assistant, she designs too and she helped me design dresses for my mother, MIL and SIL. I find that her design quite okie la. Anyway if you really get her to design, Amanda will still help out in the overall structure of the design. But if you dont feel comfortable getting Simone, you can request for Amanda. And if you wanna compare between Miah and Simone, of course Miah is a better choice cos more experience. Hope it helps =)
Dear all, besides tying up with Boenga and Redbox, ALW is tied up with Green Point and Petals & Leaves too.

huh? u mean amanda doesn't design the gowns anymore? that's so disappointing.. i've already shortlisted her for my BS.. actually i didn't even consider others.. i've already know i want this BS way before i plan my wedding...
i'm willing to spend so much on BS because of amanda.. now think have to consider..

Hi all! I love ALW designs! Met with simone the in-house designer @ cantonment.she's vry fun n I feel vry comfortable wit her.there's another young designer bsides miah if I'm not wrong @ delfi.she is e same price range as simone

pongy, i'm now considering amanda lee and ted wu.. have to down to take a look first.. i know miah is good but just that all along i'm so happy thinking amanda is going to make my gown..
Hi Meow, I went to Ted Wu too before deciding on ALW. Ted Wu quite like it also. But eventually took ALW (Miah) cos i tink its rather special to have colours in WG and i'm really comfortable with Miah.
The most impt is to try and get a feel of their services first b4 decide on anything. For Ted Wu, you wont get to see him when u make appt to try the gowns. Its only when you sign up the package and he then will talk to you and dicuss the gowns design. Hope this helps

thx pongy! i'm thinking since my AD is in sep 2009 it's way too early to design the gown.. but i'm afraid the prices will increase...so i guess better sign up the package now and design later..haa.. can't wait to visit ted wu (although first appt won't see him) and amanda lee

I cant remb the exact pricing, but it was abt 4.1K (w/o PS). So its abt 10% less of the normal package at the wedding show. I signed up with Miah, I din go and see Amanada at the other branch.
I have shortlisted 3 hotels already. But dunno why all of them dun allow 2009 end bookings yet!! Arughhhhhhhhhh......

finally went down to meet amanda today... wow she's really pretty like a model..very talented too.. can come up with the sketches within minutes.. really luv the gowns there... but if want amanda has to go for ala carte, the price is really high though.. went to ted wu before that.. price is more affordable over there.. given the same package.. both gowns are gorgeous... hard to decide if budget is not a problem.. hee.. i really luv Amanda's gowns, cos of the colors making them special..
she's seems quite cold at first, but slowly she warmed up and quite nice to talk to..

I am a Apr 09 bride. And am looking for Bridal Shop now. A little early? I guess based on the advice above, this is good? Can I ask for some recommendation? Seemed that ALW, Miah seemed excellant. How about Dang bridal? I am looking for ala carte dresses, maybe just with MUA. What about hair? Does MUA usually follows you for the whoe day? or by hours?

Its definately not too early to seach for a BS now. Tink I'm much more KS than you. I'm a Oct 09 BTB and I signed up my BS in 07! Hahah... Its good to start early so that you can have ample time to look ard and try on the different BS gowns. I would suggest you to call those BS that u are interested in and make appt with them to try their gowns and get a feel of their services and the pkges they offer. I cant comment on Dang bridal since I nv been there before. As for MUA, MUA will come early in the morning to make-up for you b4 the gooms comes. The MUA will not stay all the way, He/She leaves and will come to your banquet venue in the evening for make-up and will leave after that, they will not wait till u change to ur EG.

Having met both designers from both branches, I personally think Miah is great to work with.

pongy: Yeah, that's what I noticed, the MUA may not stay all the way till change of EG. Do you intend to have your MUA stay till change of EG?. I wonder if it's the same for other BS?
