Ginna, there are certainly alternative products besides AHA peeling. The problem is that alot of people are anxious to see 'instant' results and may not have too much time with their wedding preparation. therefore, many would opt for 'stronger' treatment to address skin issues. I started my wedding preparation a while ago and decided to go with an organic enzyme peel for a more natural treatment and it has worked quite well since I was sceptical in the initial stages.

I've tried AHA peeling. I hate the feelings during & after the peeling effect. My skin became very dry inside out. There are many alternative treatment which are safer & definitely more effective.

Hi ladies, I have very interesting testimonial with pgmentation and anti aging signs like wrinkles and large pores. This anti aging series also includes AHA peel (10%), which doesn't give you the redness and irritation that much. But the daily regimen is also very effective and important to prevent further formation of pigments...because, seriously, there's no point in getting rid of the pigments but no protection for future ones as aging is a constant ongoing process and all the peels or lasers will go to waste. Interested, you can email me at [email protected].

i consult my dermatologist for all my laser treatments. i have tried Cool Touch, IPL, and lately Mixto aka Fraxel laser. I will not recommend people with active acne/pimples to go for any laser. Acne or pimples shdnt b cured w lasers. Lasers r mainly used for scars, pitholes etc. With proper skin care routine n nutrition, u will keep them at bay. Then target any scars w laser. My dermatologist did a v gd job w me on Mixto. My deep pit scars have 'lighten'. It is supp to penetrate deep within your skin and 'reactivate' its collagen producing ability. It will continue to produce collagen for the next 6 mths so ur skin will improve still. Thereater the effects r definitely permanent. Of coz most patients need more than 1 session to achieve even better skin but downside is 1) the cost @ $1.2k and 2) the downtime and pain experienced during the laser. It was really pain during the healing stage n i felt so sore n swollen. But no regrets and im saving up for my 2nd session!! as for Cool touch, it was the predecessor of Mixto and IPL i did it w Dr Woffles Wu's clinic. I will say IPL is v effective for pigmentation. as for acne pitted scars, no effect on me. I have deep ones on my nose which are supposed to be harder to treat due to the texture of the skin on the nose (tougher) cheeks will be easier to heal w Mixto. Hope it helps and Im thinking of posting some pics on my blog to share w everyone on the Mixto healing

hi all.. i got my very first peel done on the 15th of this month a dermotoligist office. Its called the Alpha beta or AHA (yellow) peel.. i didnt feel a lot of discomfort on the first day.. today is the 3rd day and i am in misery.. the second day i was peeling around the sides on my mouth, upperlip and on my chin, it became really red and then brownish by the end of the day.. the skin looks as if its burnt!!! really ugly.. i can barely open my mouth cos my face feels like i have put glue on and its got really tight.. there is barely any peeling or rather no peeling on my forhead and the cheeks or the side of my face.. i am looking really horrible right now.. i hate the way it is .. dnt feel like going to work or gettin outta my house... i cant even smile.. this is sheer misery and i am suggested to get 3 peels done.. in a gap of 15 days.. my next peel is on the 30th.. i am dreading tht.. it hurts really bad and looks worse.. its all brown, flaky and really really dry and tight... i am using a moisturising sunscreen 30 the derm gave me.. and applying it practically every 30 min.. i saw minor peelin but dont see a lot of skin peeling off.. is this normal?? or am i going crazy... wen will this end.. plssssssssss help...

I want to know this too. I have use PSF pumpkin peel tonight, and find out that it makes my skin more dehydrated and causing more dehydrated lines!
At First, I want to use AHA to exfoliate skin surface and generate more collagen and remove fine lines. But after tonight experience, I want to know is that AHA does not suitable for dry skin!
Can anyone please help?

Thank you for sharing all your experience here! Its really helpful. I've learned abt aha peeling and its effect, that is why you need a good moisturizer to go along with it.

BUt I would love to share with everyone here a technology that will end all our antiaging woes!!
The technology is ageLOC. I've tried AHA myself and I'm really excited when I come across this new technology because it can address aging without all this suffering, the downtime.Its reallly amazing!!! Its really a WOW to me. I'm glad I come to know abt this technology.

What ageLOC does is with science, it can identify 125genes that affect our youthful skin and reset the activities of those genes. So, by applying it on our skin, you can get improvement in 8 ways like, lines and wrinkles, hydration, pigmentation, skin structure. I can show you all my testimonials and I even let my mom and mom in law tried it and the results....FANTASTIC! They transform quietly.

I must say this technology is the greatest invention of all time, and this is definitely the solution to all our antiaging problems. I'm really really thankful for being given the opportunity to use ageloc. I want to extend that opportunity to all of you. Just PM me if you are keen and we can all try the technology first on your skin and experience the effect. You all must must give this a try!

Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) are naturally occurring organic carboxylic acids such as glycolic acid, a natural constituent of sugar cane juice and lactic acid, found in sour milk and tomato juice. This is the mildest of the peel formulas and produces light peels for treatment of fine wrinkles, areas of dryness, uneven pigmentation and acne. Alpha hydroxy acids can also be mixed with a facial wash or cream in lesser concentrations as part of a daily skin-care regimen to improve the skin's texture.

AHA peels are used to:

* reduce fine wrinkling
* treat areas of dryness
* reduce uneven pigmentation
* aid in the control of acne
* smooth rough dry skin
* improve the texture of sun-damaged skin

Alphahydroxy Acids (AHA) is the umbrella term for a family of peels that includes several types of fruit acid peels, including glycolic and lactic acid peels. Best for mild skin problems such as dryness and minor sun damage, AHA peels help eliminate fine wrinkles, pimples and splotches. There are even some skin care products containing low concentrations of AHAs that can be used on a daily basis to improve skin texture and tone.

You can wash it off when you need to get ready to go tonight. Your skin is healing from the AHA peel and the less stuff you put on it now, the better. But putting makeup on tonight will be fine. I'd recommend taking off your makeup as soon as you can when you get home. Give your skin a chance to breathe.

There is always a price to pay for beauty...

anyways, i recommend cutsomized chemical peel by doctor instead of using AHA products...

sharing from my experience, clinic chemical peel also will get peeling, burn surface skin, blah...but because it was customised to the depth to resolve my skin issue (acne and acne scars), after recovery, the results is AMAZING! my skin is fairer (so said my girlfriends) and my acne scar was lighten! I can put loose powder now instead of stupid thick foundation! Yippy!

Im most satisfied after my 3rd session.

whereas before that i tried a couple of AHA products...they led to dry skin (but oily on the inside), flaking of my skin and worse, my skin looked dull and acne didnt stop poping! if try to counter with moisturiser, the pimples started to sprout on my face! Very disappointing...cheaper alternative but if you really want to renew your skin - pay abit more and get the results lah!

Have anyone heard of Ageloc? It's the latest technology to get back your youthful glow without the downtime! My pores are smaller, face lifted, and it's as simple as cleansing, and applying serum and moisturizer.
