Hi all.. i really feel confuse right now, and i don't know whether i write in right forum or not..
i m a malaysian & working in singapore and my bf is a singaporean, when i met him i already know he having divorce procedure with his wife. His wife request to have divorce with him because they have not feel and hard to maintain their relationship anymore.
But the case is i m pregnant right now, going to give birth in July, but my bf and his wife waiting to go court for interim judgement, and i think impossible to get the final DNA before i give birth.
i really feel lose for below few questions, can anyone here help me and give me some opinion?

1. isist really need the final DNA, then just can remarry or ROM?

2. if i give birth in singapore hospital, roughly how much for the fee of delivery? if very expensive, my bf tell me if we ROM already, can use his medisave, but i yet to marry with him, i still can use his medisave? or can make installment for the fee?

3. without marriage certificate, can i do birth cer for my baby? i heard my friend said can go ICA to do birth cer if without marriage certificate, but is true or not? my baby will be categorize under singaporean or malaysian?

4. after give birth, i thinking go back msia for postpartum recuperation, but i can bring my baby go back together? need any procedure before go custom checkpoint? baby need a passport also?

i really feel confused, can someone advise me?

Assuming that you're a WP or Pass holder in singapore :-

1. It's a must for your bf to have the final judgement before he can apply to marry again.

2. Delivery fee can be from 4K+ for natural birth to 5~6K+ for c-section. In any case there's complication, prematured delivery, etc, total cost will be even higher. If you can't ROM in time with your bf when you give birth, you unfortunately have to bear all delivery cost without any subsidies. And in any case you do not know, unless you're married to a Singaporean, foreigner MUST apply to give birth in singapore. If application is unsuccessful, you have to return to malaysia to deliver.

3. In the case where you're allowed to give birth in Singapore, you may apply birth cert without marriage certificate and add your bf as the father into the birth cert, but i think your bf has to go sompah or something similiar to acknowledge that the child is his. Born in singapore doesn't automatically grant Singapore citizenship to your child. Only when you're legally married to a Singaporean, then your child can be granted Singapore citizenship.

4. Your child definitely needs a passport to travel. If you're married legally to your singapore bf, then your child with singapore citizenship can apply for a singapore passport. Application of passport takes time, you won't be able to bring your baby home immediately. And newborn is not really suitable for long travel. If you're not legally married to your singapore bf, then it's even more troublesome, you need to apply birth cert in singapore (if give birth in sg), go back malaysia apply birth cert (Child citizenship will be malaysian) and then apply malaysian passport (you can authorise someone to help you apply), which all in all may takes 1 or more months, depending on the efficiency of the malaysian government departments. Since you want to do your confinement in malaysia, i think delivering in malaysia will be a better option for you.

Hopefully this put a clearer pic for you.

Hi innocentwar, really appreciate for your reply, your ans really give me alot of help :)
if in case, my bf really unable to get his final judgement before i give birth, then i go back to malaysia for delivery, baby birth cert still can put his name without any marriage cert? and in future, we get marry or ROM, isit possible baby become singaporean or PR?

You still can add father's name in your child birth cert, but for the exact procedure, it's the best to check with Malaysia's National Registration Department. He may need to be present during the registration of birth.

If in future you get legally married to your bf, you may apply for Singapore Citizenship or PR for your child, but i don't think it will be easy for your child to get the citizenship. Most probably PR. I remember i had a friend whose parent brought him to SG when he's a baby (borned in MY), and remained as a PR til he served his NS, only then he got his pink IC, while all his younger siblings are all singaporean at birth cos by then their parent had gained singapore citizenship.
Again, it's best to check the procedure with singapore ICA.
