Would like to share my experience with Unim@x Creative
Having heard good feedback about Unim@x Creative and upon learning that they were the first ID firm to be CASETRUST certified, we decided to have our home renovated by them. Despite the fact that their quote wasn't the lowest.
The person in charge we got was unprofessional and always late for appointments. What's more he doesn't understand the raw industrial chic look we were trying to achieve and we had to show him ID magazines to make him understand what we wanted.
He promised to have the place complete in 4 weeks, but when we went there in the last week, virtually nothing was done and no one was there doing any work. He kept insisting that the work would be complete, but true enough, we moved in to an uncompleted unit. Paintwork was patchy where walls were hacked, all the floors were scratched and splattered with paint, and the roofing they constructed was leaking. Some walls were even left unpainted!
Disgusted, we went down to their office at Balestier Road to speak to the boss. The boss insisted that Jeffrey was the person in charge and he didn't want to bother himself at all. So much for being CASETRUST certified. They pretty much ignored us after that, refusing to answer up our calls, not calling us back, etc. After more than a month, they started to chase for the balance payment, when the work they promised to complete AFTER we moved in was left undone.
So finally, after more almost 2 months are they doing up the remaining work!
I hope my experience with them serves as a warning to all those who are looking for responsible ID firms out there. CASETRUST certified doesn't mean anything. Being more expensive doesn't mean anything. Having an 8-year warranty doesn't mean anything.

I can intro you my ID (Roy from Inzen Interior Design), he is a very nice & patient guy. We have searched & surveyed a few IDs & Contractors but have selected him to be our ID. He is very responsible & easy to talk with. If you have tight budget, he will try his very very best to cut the cost for you, but of cos the materials & workmanship given will sure be as good as promised. Some of my neighbours used him as well & saw their hse, so far designs & workmanship are good.

Hi goh,
my hse is currently in the midst of renovation, now is doing the electrical wiring parts. The floor tiles has completed and we are very satisfied about the tiles work which his workers has done. I will PM you my quotation tonite when i'm hm. He has given us discount on top on our quotation and we find it is reasonable. Although we have signed our contract earlier but he is very nice by adding some other ideas and things to do my hse nice nice with FOC later on.
I think his partner is also very good too. Cos both of them are so busy. So far i never heard any complaints on the forum yet.

hmm...sounds gd Cheri...mind telling which part of SG u live in? Possible to let me go have a look at their work? I've got quite tight budget...dunno if they will be interested in taking up..ya i've read gd comments on inzen. and 1 best thing is they're near my hse!

Hi goh, haha.. forgot to PM you my quotation yesterday. I'm currently staying at Jurong East. My new hse will be at Sembawang. We have no problem to show you around our new hse to see their works. I think Inzen will also bring you around to the other of the hse they have renovated. Maybe i can also check with our neighbour at Sembawang to let you see his hse too. Cos i also see his hse for Inzen's works. But i need to inform you in advance that Roy has his own workers doing the hse. For his partner one, i'm not too sure as most of the good feedbacks i have is abt Roy from Inzen. That's y we chose him to reno our hse.

Just for sharing,recently i met a few IDs to get reno quotations. So far i met up with Adrian from CJ Ambience, Johnny from Ideal, Roy (Previously from Inzen), Pay from Idzign.
Adrian is very nice to talk to but unfortunately i don't have the budget for his proposed ideas
Roy did not send me his quotation after meeting up.
Johnny is very different when you meet him in person and he makes it a point to tell me what is needed and save the money.
Pay is a lady but is experienced and she can easily visualise and draw on a piece of paper when you tell her your idea.
I won't say Adrian's quotation is unreasonable because it comes with different ideas and materials. Johnny and Pay's quotations are more to what i want and is reasonable, i will meet up with them again to further discuss and hope to confirm by this week

This thread is dedicated to my ID from IdealDesign XXXXX. This company seems to have a lot substitutes for the last names (WERKS, STUDIO, INTERIOR DESIGN, ETC). The location is at lavendar street.
I was very unhappy throughout the entire reno process as I became the ID and contractor and he became the customer. I tried to refrained from posting on this forum as I thought he would come to his senses.
Also I would like fellow forumners to be wary of some minefields when dealing with IDs.
Todate (from end Feb to now) I had paid about 10k plus and all I had from the works were:
1. hacked walls (study and kitchen) without touchup
2. partial ceiling works (I deliberate stopped it as the positioning of the cove opening was not correct
3. electrical, all lines layed without switches
4. shower screens (both mbr and common room) the most complete deliverables but very poor in quality and finish.

Dun ever buy any furniture from La Caffa in The Furniture Mall. Reasons
1) They delayed my cabinet delivery, end up I had my house warming with clothes lying all over my room.
2) They gave me the wrong one when it finally arrived.
3) Less than 3 yrs the roller spoil therefore I cant close the door. FYI: I paid 1000 over for this and they said this is a solid wood, import set... bla bla bla...
4) When I called them to fix it, they want me to pay a cost as the warranty period was over. Come on... Its just over for 1 mth, cant you just be more flexible? Ofcos I dun wanna pay tht.
5) Customer service officer have attitude problem. She either ignore or scream at you over the phone. Very very rude..
Overall: Night mare!!!!

I would like to recommend my contractor who did minor reno to my bedrooms and toilets. Very gd service and price reasonable. I hack off the toilet shower screen and he help me to look high & low for simlar design of wood to fix back the door lining (dont know what to call that).
Also help me to patch kitchen cabinet which is abit wet from the tap/sink above. FOC coz i only engaged him to do bedrooms and toilet, but he help me to touch up abit on the kitchen. Though not a long term solution due to the sink leakage, but appreciate him short term patch works.
Anyway, no harm giving him a call for quotation. I got his no. after looking thru comments from other people in this forum. Hp: 90010206, Andy.
