Should I give up on an OTPed resales flat as it has concealed pipes issues?

We have placed deposit on a resales 4room HDB, not yet exercised.

We just found out that there had been previous piping leakages and issues. Owner did not fix the concealed pipes, instead they installed extra redirecting external (PVC) pipes as they previously did not want to hack walls to reach the concealed pipes to fix them. We weren't sure how honest the owners are with regards to the piping issues as well.

Which means to say, we have to fork out extra sum to hack walls n to fix these underlying concealed pipes.

I am wondering if anyone has any idea how much would this cost?
Although my partner and I quite like the unit, we were considering whether it is worth it to proceed to exercise (given that we have to fix the above issues) or to forgot the unit and the 1k deposit.

Any comments on pipes fixing costs, plumbing works and renovation would be welcomed!
