I need advise on my solemnisation in Dec 05. We want to keep the event simple. Till now, except for booking a book at ROM, we have done nothing else. Is it sufficient to just hold the event at the office itself?

Hi Starries,

Actually it depends on what both of you want. Usually, if you hold your solemnisation within ROM itself, after that you might want to arrange for lunch for your families and friends at some restaurant. Have you gotten your gown/dress for that day?

i had my ROM cum buffet high tea in Carlton hotel back in 2003. it was ard $1000, usage of gazebo, pool side for ROM ceremony, and high tea or lunch buffet for 25 pax. it comes with a one night stay as well.

Hi June & Angel, Thanks for the reply. Just went down to Amara today. But they only cater for outdoor solemisation. And we went down during solemisation time. It's really very very warm. Indoor needs extra of about $570 for the function room. Not willing to pay so much for it. So still frantically looking for a venue...

If you want, you can try Mosanic Garden @ ROM... Reasonable and I like the layout... I just sign the package last weekend. The buffet is indoor (got aircorn).
I went to Amara, I find it not so good as the place to declare your marriage vow is far away from the tables where your guests are sat.
Then, v. hot...

i had my soleminisation ceremony + buffet lunch recep at Carlton Hotel last mth. Those who thinking of a venue for their ROM can give it a try. Can have solemnisation outdoor and meal indoor. The price is reasonable too. Can contact Carlton for thie ROM package + pricing.

For me, everything went on well on my ROM day at the hotel. The staff did a great job I'm very satisfied with their service & arrangements.

The only pity is that it was raining so i had no choice but to hold my ceremony in the function room, supposed to be at the outdoor courtyard. Nvertheless, we had a great time. Satisfied with my PG & VG for thier nice pics & video too

My guests commented tat the food was very nice. I'm happy to hear that.

Glad to hear from you! the date should be end of July, pending my best frend visit from overseas. time is lunch time preferable. i estimate maybe around 40 guests. JP huh?! i thought quite easy to book according my frend.

after read through the forum, seems like the budget all quite exp! actually i like Chimes or some good place.

Hmm... I dunno much about JHC... i do have friends signing up with them.. but their gowns are just normal i feel.

$388 is not very ex.. but not very cheap either i would say.

If you're on budget, aybe can just get dress outside and everything separately.. should be cheaper.

As for JP.. if you're not particular.. then it's easy to book. But those popular ones are tough lor... they are often booked up to the next year.Havent attended Chimjes ROM but had attended dinner there.. it's a nice place.

But not cheap... you wan i can send u the list of quotations i compiled some time ago when i was sourcing... just leave ur email add.

I signed up JHC for my ROM. Personally i dun tink it is veri expensive. Can safely sae it is one of the cheaper ROM packages arnd oredi. jess is a veri nice person though. But do note that the $388 is for veri simple dresses. For mi, I wanted laces and a small can can, need to top up additional $100.
Also i feel that it will be good to have a design in mind before you go down, cos i realise her designs is quite limited.

there is a great place for you all to held yr ROM.
go to the National Library @ Victoria Street, go to the Fifth level they have a garden there.
A very cosy place to hold yr ROM there.
