(2016) 2016 brides

Hi all, just to share that the sessenz ampoules that is popular among brides is selling at groupon now at quite an attractive price. You may want to consider just as a facial product just to test it out. :)

My VG, Robin, is an independent freelancer who tags on to other photographers. I got to know him through a pretty popular photographer I shortlisted from this forum, but I didn't go with the PG in the end because his style wasn't really what I wanted.
I chose Robin cos I like the fun and lively style of his videos. Being very very affordable, not many videographers in his price range take the trouble to cut dialogue into the highlights. Most just slap a background song and let the images run, which imo takes away all the joyous atmosphere. If you are interested in viewing my lunch express highlights, feel free to PM me!

hi! Could I see your lunch express highlights too? Sorry, am new to this forum and not sure how to PM you! Thanks v much :)

Not all VG can do morning highlights for luncheon, but there are VGs who are able to. Must check :)

If the VG u like doesnt provide such service, maybe u guys can play childhood montage video :)
Thanks Gal. I will think about it :)

My VG did an awesome job for the morning highlights for my wedding lunch just a week ago. I've been re-watching for over a dozen times since cos it just captured the moments so nicely. If you're interested, I can give you his contact. I'll see if I can upload my highlights too.
Okie thanks!! Hw much is it?

It really depends on what your schedule is like. I tried to ask quite a number of videographers. Some outright rejected me while others say they will need at least 2 hours in between for them to do editing. So it really depends on yourself. Otherwise you can get two videographers if budget permits and they can do shift work. I choose to go without videographer since I don't plan to do gatecrashing. =)
true.. m tinking if wana do pre wedding shoot for videography.

I think this is a great idea, if not alternative! It's sth I regret not doing becos I actually had enough helpers that day to just take some causal behind-the-scenes vids. Depends on what you prefer, but instead of paying for it to be done professionally, I would have done one where it just captured how busy we were, us blabbering random thoughts into the camera etc.

If you think you will exceed the stipulated timing, you can ask the banquet venue if they do charge for it. I checked with my venue before signing the contract :p

my contract did state around 2.5k/hour if we exceed the timing. however, the coordinator told us that so far the exceeds are just awhile, still reasonable. so they usually close one eye and have not charged any couples before.

Hi Verine , look out for some hotel venues thru the wedding style magazine which i just bought too .. there is lot of information in it .. but choose a few in case they are not available for your big day...

I feel pan pac price is reasonable and within your budget :) park royal beach road not too sure

Last week I was walking pass Marina Sq events hall for dinner........ and I saw that there's a bridal fair. I tried to distance myself from the event area but failed. The bridal shop employers hunted me like a lion hunting a deer! They walked towards me and it was very obvious that I was avoiding them as I needed my dinner but they kept asking me to take a look at their albums! I just took their pamphlet in a bid to walk away, then the next stall will repeat the same thing, and said "You took pamphlet from the previous guy why you don't wanna take from me?" and the whole cycle repeats. I already kept my distance and they just come chasing after me!! If I was interested and they do this to me, I rather walk away. It's like standing outside a jewellery shop and the sales assistant comes out of the shop, usually will just walk away. If I'm interested I will approach you, I don't like to get hunted!! Seriously, this is damaging to their industry. I don't like to be pressurised or have 1hour sweet talk with them. They always say the same thing, "Oh you so fair", "Oh you so young", "You so pretty I give you special rate", etc etc. zzzz

Hi! I met up with Felicia [email protected] from PR Beach Road and she seems to be a very straight forward and friendly lady. In the end we didn't sign up with her as the venue did not suit us.

Just visit the list of shortlisted hotels and have an overall view when the coordinators bring you around. It's quite different as you walking around in the venue compound yourself :)

Ooo they also have another pet phrase which I hate: "you and your bf got couple face!"

Haha this was my final shortlist over a year ago too. Just had my wedding at Pan Pac 2 weeks ago. I'd say for us, the choice was obvious but not necessarily easy because the PR ballroom did appear very attractive on first sight.

But it made sense to go with PanPac cos it's about the same price for a 5* vs a 4*, and we preferred the PanPac package/bridal suite/lobby/atmosphere/coordinator (for PR, we didn't get Felicia) better. The PanPac package was very straightforward and inclusive, you almost needn't negotiate for stuff. And even if you had to, it's likely you'll get it within a reasonable extent.

Now that my wedding is over, I can say that PanPac was the perfect venue for the light, open, spacious and cheery feel I wanted. To top off, my guests had nothing but rave reviews about the food, wines and service. ;);)

Hi, I booked my banquet with Parkroyal. My account manager is Agnes, very nice lady. Basically I get everything I need for the banquet and dont forsee having to do any top up at all. Love the function area which is beautiful and I heard was design by the same designer as their Pickering branch.

i went for viewing at ParkRoyal on beach road too & Agnes attended to me as well. She is such a nice lady!! @Superxyz if you intend to go down for viewing, can look for her ((: though im not sure if it fits you 1.5/table budget.
If i rmbr correctly, each table adds up to around 1.6/1.7k nett. But still a lovely place, ballrooms are newly refurbished as well!

i shaked my head and the pg asked is it i'm still studying? LOL the moment he said that, i super happy cos it means i look young right!! :p makes my day! hehehe and naturally it spares us from the hardselling and persuading part. really quite annoying sometimes.
Now when my fiance and i see the wedding shows, we will make a detour.

some tw pg can be quite nasty, they rolled their eyes at my friend who didnt sign up w them! but there're some nice ones. i've met afew who gave me their well wishes when they know i've alr got my package. :) should this be the way in this industry!

Wana check if you are doing lunch, can we get our morning highlights immediately to play during lunch or not possible at all??

If not possible, what shl we play during the lunch wedding ? Any idea? Thank you
hi! you can check out my vg -Alvin from Iriswave.
we went to view his works and we really like it alot! arranged for a meetup w him and almost immediately paid the deposit cos he made us feel so comfortable w him. and he is very generous w his advices and knowledge too.

He learnt that he was the first vg we met up w, and told us not to rush to confirm him (lol) and told us to think through it heh. how nice right! (: let me know if you want his contact, i try to see if i can tell him youre my friend, and see if he can give you additional perks <:

Hi all, thanks for the review for both of the hotels. We're liaising with agnes at parkroyal, but have not managed to go down to view the rooms yet. Currently looking at the package it has not exceeded $1600 per table yet. Did u sign with them in the end?

Yesss!!! that *rolled eyes* whats wrng with them... Keep forcing us to pay deposit. Was told to pay $1500 deposit at the road show.. initially they reduce all the way down to $100 but we still told them that we need to consider and look at other option first... AND THAT ROLLED EYES THING CAME!

Hi jjjk, we have not went to view the ballrooms at both hotels yet. But intending to head down soon.

Package wise, both are comparable. But of cos, pan pac is slightly more exp. another downside for us is that we are unable to meet their minimum of 25 tables, so we try to nego with them.

Which ballroom did u get at panpac?

Mine was at Pacific ballroom because we wanted the high ceiling. Hmm... If budget and min tables are already a concern, I'm pretty sure viewing the ballrooms will sway you PR's way because Ocean ballroom, in all truthfulness, def cannot measure up to the PR smaller ballroom. And I guess the perks are comparable in your case because Ocean's package is less attractive than Pacific's.

Nopes didn't because I'm looking at 40 tables so at 1.6/1.7k, it burst our budget like crazy haha

They've a wedding show coming up, so we're hoping they could throw in some perks etc.

Thanks for your feedback :)
