i did consider taking up JB BS but my bf say the journey is gonna take a toll on you.. cos estimated trip u have to go down is abt 5-6 trips. including choosing photos.. collecting album.. return gown etc.. so ended up we signed up at the suntec bridal fair last fri..

Maybe you can try Beehoon productions? Go send them an email and see what they say. My fiance's bestfriend hired them last year and their highlights video was good

Thanks so much for your good advice, you make perfect sense when you put it this way. I've so far just been browsing the internet for reviews and pictures...yet to make a trip down to any of the BS. Gotta do my due diligence and research well before I actually drop by. Do you have any recommended BS with good reputation and service?
And how is your preparation coming along?
If you are prepared to spend more (6k to 10k), you can go to these BS: Amanda Lee, Tan Yoong, Calla Bridal (my personal preference is Amanda Lee, the designer is Miah, he is damn good with his creations
)For more easier-on-pocket BS: you can go for these: La Belle, Rico-a-mona, Sophia Wedding, Le Grand (personal preference is Rico-A-Mona: their service is top notch)
However do note for MTM there are 2 choices also, MTM for keep (means you get to keep your gown after the wedding, or MTM for rent (means you return to BS and they rent to others after your wedding), MTM for keep is usually 1.5-3k more expensive.
We got the dates from Long Shifu! But now the headache is for the banquet venue. We just want to tick this off our list asap, and the rest we can settle slowly since we are likely to plan the wedding for last qtr 2015...

F1 period is quite tricky, try to get as many rooms as you need because any additional booking is going to cost you a bomb! Also you have to avoid hotels around F1 tracks since there will be road closures, plus the deafening sound of the cars.

I got it with Bridal Concept, really an impulse!! Abit regret after hearing so many negative reviews! OMG.
Many hotels around the F1 tracks refused to cater to our wedding, as they will not be accepting weddings/events on those days. I have more or less decided to get Crowne Plaza Hotel for our wedding, because bf don't really have that many relatives or friends. Even though I love Fairmont/Swissotel, I do not want their smallest ballroom, which caters 20 - 34 tables. To get their canning room, I need to have at least 35 tables, which is rather difficult. Bf only has 9 tables now, whereas I have 16 - 18 tables already.
Easier to just axe away tables than to add tables.........

Don't be too bothered by reviews, there are good and bad in every service providers, a lot of other factors plays a part too
I am looking at CPCA too. However, just an advice, it is actually easier to add tables than to axe tables. Along the way your parents may need another table, or your HTB friends might need another table. The maximum for CP is 28, whereas you are hovering at around 27 tables, it is quite risky...

I'm intending to axe tables. For us it's easier to axe than to add. My parents are not interested in inviting their friends. In fact, both my parents and HTB do not want to hold a wedding banquet. It was me who insisted on wanting it. LoL. My parents told me to save the money and just go for a long honeymoon instead.

Yep if you are getting M Hotel, get the level 10 one as ceiling is higher and prettier
I am looking at that too as well...Its walking distance Tanjiong Pagar ... else you can consider Amara Hotel too.M Hotel too inaccessible for the guests. Hmm maybe I should go see see look look also. I was quite interested in their level 10 ballroom.

the suite and food at amara don't really suit my taste. i guess i'll just "shop" for more hotel. did any of u BTB attend any wedding events at hotels? I'd been to 3 and am going another 2 this weekend.

Most people use Standard Chartered Manhatten card to pay off their banquet, it used to be 200 rebate off every 3k or something but I think they have adjusted it. Nevertheless it is stlll the most widely used card. But you gotta pay about 3k every quarter to have maximum rebates.

You can try Riverview Hotel, which is opposite Holiday Inn Atrium. I've been to the suite, which is quite pretty. The coordinator, J something, was very patient and nice. She told us we could change the menu outside what was printed.

So far GPCH has not gotten back to me yet. they have very nice ballroom! Abit squarish though.
I like the holiday inn orchard package. but their ballroom is in a weird configuration.
They have high ceilings for 18 tables (but minimum tables of 25), so the side of the ballroom opens up for extension is low ceiling.
i'm not sure how should I explain. and they have pillars blocking the view even though they have live feed screening on 4 big projectors.
Pros and cons. their offered package is really good.

Amara and Holiday Inn Atrium , i prefer Amara. the coordinator I met is friendly and not bad i think. The one at Holiday Inn Atrium is not so good to me, not so negotiable. He told me earlier this year that the holiday will be undergo renovation but cannot show me any artistic impression. So i did not deal with him in the end as i dont feel comforatble with him & the venue renovation outcome. =) I highly reco Amara then HIA
