(2015) 2015 brides??

Hello BTBs!

I'm new here, going to have my wedding on July 2015 and just started planning this month .

I'm booking Raffles Hotel East India Rooms for lunch buffet.. Anyone has attended and tasted their food?

Anyone engaged PG and VG Superpanda Presents? I love their works but they are a little bit slow in replying emails..

What is the usual event rundown for wedding? Is having games necessary? I'm worried my guests will find my wedding boring..

Ahh sorry that I have many questions, first time marriage here lol ;)

Sorry, can't comment about Raffles or Superpanda as I didn't engage their services. As for rundown for the day, well you'll probably start off the day with the customary rituals as well as gatecrashing if you're proceeding with that. During your lunch buffet itself, you'll have items like two different march-ins, cake-cutting, champagne pouring and toasting, thank you speeches, etc. The hotel usually provides you a guide itinerary which you can customize according to your needs. You can also probably play your childhood montage video if you're making one. As yours is a lunch buffet, unless you're married the day(s) before the lunch, it may be too rushed to get an express morning highlights video to play for your audience to view. Don't get too worried whether your guests will be bored or if you need to include games - the main focus that day should be you and your fiance, and not the games or whether your guests are bored.. They shouldn't be bored anyway as their time will be preoccupied with eating and chatting with the other guests hehe.. And haha, why do I keep coming across the phrase "first time marriage" in this forum? How many times do people wanna get married? Aim to make it not only your first BUT your ONLY marriage.. Yes, I understand that due to unfortunate circumstances, some marriages don't last and some will remarry for a second or even a third time but unless one specifies it, we'll usually assume it's your first marriage anyway so don't worry.. We've all been through the uncertainties of planning what you call your "first marriage".. Hehe.. ;)

My ROM photos are out! Not too bad, we are quite pleased with the quality esp the outdoor shots! Totally worth it :) Luckily we had ROM VG as I realised it's important to have video if not i'll forget whatever happened. Wa you have 7 DVDs? Where did you hold your wedding at? The montage also in DVD?

Hi, I am in the look out for a good MUA and I saw u recommended yukiko. Can I jus check w u what's her rates and wads good about here that you actually recommended her. Also how long did she take to do the hairdo? Thanks alot!

Hi Cheerojess

Ah sorry I din manage to reply the other time when I logged in. End year rush. Hope this is not too late.

Yukiko is very patient and gentle. I like her makeup because hers is very natural.

I was a bridesmaid at a friend's wedding, Yukiko was her MUA and my generous friend gift us makeup session. I was rather worried abt the make up because I am someone whom doesn't wear make up, and on ocassion when I have to, I usually felt like removing it right afterwards (even on my own wedding). I really dislike not looking like me after makeup. But when Yukiko did mine, I was surprised that the make-up was very natural and made me looked great. My friends are also very happy with their make-up, including the bride. She looked gorgeous.

For mine, was just the makeup, it felt less than 30 mins I think. For the bride was about 2hrs or less.
As for the rates, I checked with my friend, she said her bridal makeup and hair is $600 with promo tie up. Her rates might change not sure cos few yrs ago. I heard she went Japan to study makeup further and she is back in sg now. But her website http://yukikolim.com/packages/ maybe can give u some idea.

Sorry for the wait. Cheers!

for prewedding shoot i took with the BS. just not the AD. hmmm my package was 3388. la belle's package goes by stars system. meaning with the amount u paid, there are a number of stars allocated. with that, u can redeem the things u want. so the package is pretty flexi. icant rem offhand how many stars i have.

Hi gals, I have a question:

I have natural black hair and have not dye it before. I am always afraid that dyed hair requires a lot of maintenance (constant dyeing and follow up hair care). Initially have no intention to dye it for my pre-wedding photo-shoot. However, during my gown fitting the bridal studio coordinator keep stressing that it would be good for me and my SO to dye our hair at least into a shade of dark brown. She claims that it will make us look much “nicer” in the photographs and keep showing us their model photos with couples with dyed hair. I am just wondering is there any truth in it since it made us torn between dyeing or not.

My BS said the same thing. My MUA also said the same thing. Even my friends from other BS also did.

Personally I think it does make a difference. Its actually nicer as compared to black hair. I dun really know how to explain this 'concept' but when you put 2 photos side by side, the one with a brown shade will look nicer.

They can always adjust the colouring of the photos while editing so your hair might not look totally black anyway. And if you're not comfortable with it, why do it? it's your wedding photos, if you don't want to dye your hair, then that's what you can choose not to do.

I think it is up to individual. Do what make you feel comfortable.

Hello I'm not planning to dye my hair too :) requires too much maintenance on my part. Just do what you are comfortable with :)

anyway, my friend also asked me the same question recently... she has nvr dyed her hair before and the BS also recommended her to.. but she's too v uncomfortable with dyeing her hair.. i told her that eventually it's up to her.. the PG can't possibly don't take ur photos just because u dont dye ur hair right? :)

do what makes u happy! it's up to individual preference eventually la :)

My BS explained to me that the highlights will show a contrast in colour so your hair strands stand out more in the photos. The highlights literally "highlights" the texture of your hair rather than leaving your hair as a "blob" of blackness where the strand texture can't be appreciated in the photos. I've never dyed my hair before either but based on recommendations, I decided to just highlight a bit in some brown shades for my pre-wedding photoshoot. After the dyeing, I didn't need to do anything extra for maintenance - it's just normal shampooing and conditioning like usual routine.. I'm not planning to dye my hair anymore but I'm glad I did for the photoshoot as it really did make a difference in the photos. It's been more than half a year since I dyed my hair and it hasn't given me any issues. If you plan to dye yours too, just check with the hairstylist for a suitable one that doesn't cause any irritation nor require any maintenance. But as always, the final say as to whether you should proceed to dye your hair still lies with yourself.. ;)

Hello, have anyone got their invites customized? I just saw this save the date from a blog & love it. Not sure how much would it cost thou

I downloaded a free template and photoshopped to customise it. Ended up only the format of details is similar, everything else is different, even the colour. For save the date we took a few photos, I montaged them into a fb banner and created an event instead of sending out hard copies. Just Google for free printables, some let u choose the colour u want, and u can insert details in the text fields before saving a softcopy for printing.

I think it's really up to you to do what u feel is most comfortable. My BS coordinator did suggest not to dye the hair too bright but I can't remember the reason he gave :)

Hello all! Where can I find ampoules and false eyelashes other than big brands like Sephora? Not intending to use those my MUA provides to cut cost. Shall get my own, preferably multiple pairs per pack kind. Roughly how much will it cost?

Hi Gals...i have met my MUA. She said she will not stay with me for 2nd march in to change hair style, remove veil and touch up make up. If I want her to stay, I have to pay more. My package included 2 times make up which I will be using one in the morning and one at noon before my lunch banquet. Do you have any idea? I believe normally MUA will wait till 2nd march in time. I feel a bit wired with this MUA...

What I heard from the bridal studio is that the MUA will not wait till the 2nd March in before she leave, we have to pay her extra if we want her to stay till the 2nd march in.

The bridal studio recommended us to have a hairstyle and make-up that will fit both the wedding gown and 2nd march in evening gown. There is probably not much time to change a whole new make-up and hairstyle anyway for the 2nd march in

my BS didn't ask my fiance to color his hair though he has naturally black hair. only told me to touch up my current color cos the black roots grew out.

if you're not someone to go for colored (even if it might just be a very dark brown) then there's no NEED to do it otherwise you won't feel like it's yourself.
