(2015) 2015 brides??

We are planning to hold our ROM + AD in mid 2015. We were given a very short list of dates to choose from. Still sourcing for venues.

Looking at Fairmont Hotel Atrium Ballroom. Understand from the coordinator that there are 2 pillars in the ballroom.

Anyone having their wedding at Fairmont?

Went to the Intercontinental Wedding Show on Sunday and most dates that we would have wanted were fully booked except for a particular date but per table is $1488++ for minimum of 34 tables. Moreover, a Sunday.

Anyone have suggestions for other hotels or share which hotels you have booked?

Cheers

Jiayou, in the sourcing of your wedding hotel.

22-25 tables is a good number, if cost is an issue you can consider restaurants too, their prices look reasonable and many said their food is better. But I do not have much experience with weddings there.

Personally, I rather do it in a restaurant to save the cost but my SO doesn't want it. Thus, I'm having my wedding at Rendezvous hotel next year, it can accommodate up to 24 tables, each table is $1068++. You can consider it too.

Yeah thank u. We didn't want to do it in a hotel initially, more like a casual dinner with friends and close relatives but some venues we been too can't fit the size that we have and also cost is one factor. Anyway, can u share your package for Rendezvous hotel? My email: [email protected]

Cheers

It was great with iSnap! They were so friendly and gave us lots of tips on what to take and all! My hubby totally enjoyed them. Will wait for the photos to be out!

So glad you and your hubby like their service.. I'm always scared if I recommend wrongly hehe..

My package is the affinity/blissful weekend package as stated in the link. The hotel allows us to interchange the dishes. Signing up with them during their road-show might earn you more perks but we missed the road-show last year, to secure the date we wanted we still decided to go ahead and sign the package with them anyway.

I heard fort canning has bad service. My fiance attended a wedding dinner and didn't like it

Oh dear.. What is about their service that's bad? I had my banquet there and we received good feedback from our family and friends even when we never asked them for any feedback.. We were also quite pleased with how they handled our banquet..

there are pro & cons of taking SG or JB BS... if you are okay with the traveling to and fro and really like their design then go for JB BS

hmm honestly I don't know but met 2 hair dressers, they always tell me to have a little perm to have soft curls so it will be easier to style...

I took mine at JB! U can Google destino! I didn't really shortlist any BS as my gf took hers there. I looked through her photos and loved the photographer skills. So my SO n I went str down to talk yo them about the package. We jus took the std package w no add on n it cost SGD 3000. The sales person wasn't pushy but we decided to sign the package on the spot.

I went for my indoor shoot and I'm really impressed by their service. Idk how the SG BS works but for them, their hairstylist can style 1 hairstyle in... 20 mins? They are very fast n good. The best part was the assistant will actually helped to take my heels and help put them on for me. I personally feel sg might not be able to give such standards (my guess). And because it's a full day shoot, they actually will help us take food orders so we don have to run in n out of the studio. So I really give 2 thumbs up for them.

Pity is they don do referral scheme so we won be able to get addition photos or additional discounts even if we refer people to them. Oh and yes! They have a wide range of gowns for u to choose from! And your actual day gown will be different from all your photoshoot! So u will really get to wear many gowns for your wedding! Hahaha!! Jus my experience w them (;

thanks Cheerojess! that was really helpful info! how many gowns did you take in total then? and did u take outdoor shoot with them? or just indoor?
can also share who was your photographer? :)

did u also rent your car with them? the only part my SO didnt really like about the idea is that we have to go in to tie the car, which he's afraid by the time come back to sg, the flowers would have gone thru alot haha..

No problem!!! :)

In total I had 4 indoor gowns, 2 outdoor gowns and 3 actual day gowns. :) my photographer name ahhh. I can't remember his name. ): but they will show u all their photographer works and you can select the ones you like the feel most den they will tell u who the photographer is. During my indoor shoot my photographer let me take a look at some photos he took before the edit and the feel was really woah! The photographer I took was not the same as my gf who took for them before as that photographer gotten some award in 2013 and his price jets up v high ); so we took the one who got 3rd instead or 1st with a more reasonable pricing! ^^

I didn't rent my car from them. I actually didn't ask about their car package as I also didn't wan a JB car to be driven into sg as k bridal car. LOL. The flowers they will provide but yup we have to go in the day before to tie them. But I think it will be ok coz the flowers are quite hardy. Can withstand wind blow rain n sun. But they also told us, if we wan we can bring the flowers back to sg n tie ourself. They will teach us how to do it. So its an open choice. :)

I'm having my photoshoot with Dawn's Wedding @ City Sq, also based on my friend's recommendation. If u don't mind the traveling, can take it as mini holiday lol they don't provide the bridal car so I'll rent it in SG and possibly decorate it in SG。

Thank you!

Hi!! Are you referring to the wedding lunch package from Concorde? I'm afraid mine is not the latest as I booked mine at 2014 rates (benefit of booking early :D) and Concorde has new rates for 2015. I did look at the new 2015 package and the things provided are the same, only the rates are different.

Hiocc pillars are not that bad actually I think. The live feed is useful. I've been to big pillar less ballrooms yet I still can't see the couple walk past me up close. Even on stage they are far away from me. I prefer to do my banquet in a smaller room where ppl can see me when I walk past and on stage.

Wa 2015 brides and grooms congrats! Thot i just butt in abit cos my wedding venue was not mentioned. OCC grand ball room. I would say if you have many guests like 40 tables or more, want a long march in, food's gd too, easy parking for guests, the best part is the high ceiling, you should check it out. They have smaller ballrooms too. Went one this year, cosier setting. i love that the tables are not crammed close together eventhough it is a smaller room, but march in entrance wont be as grand. I went to a few weddings where the tables are very crammed together. Personally dun like to feel very restricted while eating. http://www2.orchidclub.com/moby/cms/meetingevents/grand_ballroom.html.

For PG i recommend TOP Photography www.topphotography.com.sg, MUA Yukiko http://yukikolim.com/
BS mine was primtemps , they provided good service, and was reasonably priced. But the travel to JB did get to me.

Hmm what else, oh if you need a mei ren, I recommend Madam Goh. https://www.facebook.com/mdmgoh

Hope this is helpful :)

I'm a 2015 bride too in Dec 2015! Anyone has comments on Hilton hotel, regent hotel or orchard hotel? We are planning to have around 20-22 tables:) appreciate any feedback that you all night have :)

We went to look at jb bridal studios (due to the really cheap prices) but found that the designs are a bit too flamboyant... esp the dinner gowns... super colourful like getai :/ coupled with the numerous trips that we have to make after the photo shoot, we decided to stick with a sg bridal shop.

Yup, same thing for us... And they weren't at all pushy in trying to sell us their services... They're also really quick to process all the photos and send them to us (some companies only send you a certain number of photos but iSnap returns every single photo to their customers). Before our pre-wedding photoshoot, we were already assured by iSnap that they can meet our deadlines - because of our crazy work schedules, one of us (either me or my hubby) was always overseas so we could only have our shoot on 1st July when our AD was 30th August. Thank God for iSnap's efficient services, we managed to get our photos fast enough to choose which photos to include in our real album, design the album layout and send it off for printing - for those who are curious, we did it online via Artisan State - their albums are fully flush mounted (unlike most photobook companies' albums) and their price is an absolute bargain for the high quality you're paying for. They ship really fast too - we initially opted for express delivery (scared if there's any delay, there won't be any album during AD haha!) which should take about a week but the album arrived in 2-3 days instead!! Could have easily opted for normal delivery if we knew just how fast they were haha... ;)

Hi jane,

Could you share with me the name of the PG & VG from isnap ?
Thanks !

I'm.looking for ad photographer and videographer... just wondering is it a must to have it? Some of my friends told me that they won't see the photos after the wedding ....
And also, typically how much are the charges? I'm having a wedding lunch :)

When it comes to weddings, nothing is ever a must except for at the very least the presence of the couple who are going to tie the knot!! ;) So, to answer your question, no, it's not a must to have a PG/VG at your wedding. That said, having one (or more) will help you and your family/friends cherish the memories of your big day when you all review again in the future the different photos and videos that were shot.. Those friends who told you that they won't see the photos after their wedding - that is a choice that they have made for themselves. But what is the choice that you will make? Only you yourself will know best... Charges vary depending on which company or package or number of hours etc - a simple PG/VG session can stretch from anything between $800 each to $3000 each (so if you're going to have both PG and VG, just double the amount).. If you have any family or friends who are relatively good at photo-taking or video-taking, you can also consider getting them to help if you want to save on cost (you can always give them an ang pow as a token of appreciation) and know that they won't mind helping (and getting tired running after you the entire day).. ;)

hello btbs, i got a qns to ask.. hope it's not a 'duh' question.

for the 1st march in, i intend to use shane filan - beautiful in white... (which i believe alot ppl use so hope someone can advise hehe) but the starting of the song to the chorus part is around 1min+ ... so means my march in must be slow enough to last till the audience can hear the chorus part?

and when will the song stop playing? when we are both on stage? then cut cake another song?
can i play the same song but when cutting cake i soften the volume?

Hi hi!! It's not a duh question so don't worry.. ;) I used Beautiful In White for my 1st march-in during my banquet.. At first we did the same - walked quite slow but coz our aisle is quite long, we ended up getting a friendly prompt by the banquet manager to walk a lil faster haha.. The song continued to play when we reached the stage and cut the cake and only ended after we got off the stage and got seated. We didn't soften the volume at any point since there wasn't any need to - very minimal emceeing throughout the time the song was playing.. If you want an idea how this may look like, you can view my banquet highlights video at our YouTube channel (link in my signature below) - they shorten the song a bit at some places for video editing purpose but you should get a rough idea.. Hope this helps! :)

yup! childhood montage i will be diy-ing.. just confirmed my montage song and photo timings after listening to 37453274532784 songs hahahaha.

initially i was also quite worried that it might be boring or what.. but then again, i rather just come straight to the point and march in than trying to crack my head to show sth else..
