Ive gotten isnap too...glad to hear good reviews. They are nice enough to meet up to shoe us samples and clarify doubts

Yup, same thing for us... And they weren't at all pushy in trying to sell us their services... They're also really quick to process all the photos and send them to us (some companies only send you a certain number of photos but iSnap returns every single photo to their customers). Before our pre-wedding photoshoot, we were already assured by iSnap that they can meet our deadlines - because of our crazy work schedules, one of us (either me or my hubby) was always overseas so we could only have our shoot on 1st July when our AD was 30th August. Thank God for iSnap's efficient services, we managed to get our photos fast enough to choose which photos to include in our real album, design the album layout and send it off for printing - for those who are curious, we did it online via Artisan State - their albums are fully flush mounted (unlike most photobook companies' albums) and their price is an absolute bargain for the high quality you're paying for. They ship really fast too - we initially opted for express delivery (scared if there's any delay, there won't be any album during AD haha!) which should take about a week but the album arrived in 2-3 days instead!! Could have easily opted for normal delivery if we knew just how fast they were haha... ;)

Yup, that's our final plan. Best man will come pick us and our helpers up then drive everyone to hotel. Nope no candles. The only tradition we will have is the tea ceremony. And I don't even know what the candles are for! Hahaha.
Hi..oh u mean u settling everything at the hotel?

I thought once the groom has fetched the bride, must serve tea to the bride's parents already? then go back to groom's place to serve tea to his parents.

This was the sequence we did:
Fetch me from my place + serve tea to my parents --> Goes to his place + serve tea to his parents and relatives --> Goes to church for solemnization ceremony --> Goes to hotel + rest (only a lil while that the bride can rest before the MUA comes again so be realistic in your time planning) --> Banquet dinner

Omg! Location is most most most important! Book it first, then settle the rest like photos and attire. If not you have everything but the place to get married at.

Then hurry settle guest list and confirm their attendance and print invites because that takes time too. Better send the invites to reach your guests at least 1 month ahead but since yours is rushed I suppose 2 weeks ahead is ok? Mine is 1 day after yours actually, and I'm going to send them out today.

If 2015, have to start now. Location is important, find one and secure it first. Primarily how many people you want to invite? Then what is Ur budget etc. Next, Book your pre wedding shoot and do it soon! Best go with a bridal shop, comes With actual day package. Otherwise spend time to find vendors for ala carte according to your needs. Find an actual day photographer and videographer if needed. Better reach out to your wedding day helpers to book them too.

Barrage is ex. I did enquire with the tentage providers before. They say need special arrangements to crane up the structures.

You may wish to try Four Seasons. They have a smaller ballroom to fit abt 15 tables. If planning for wedding lunch you still may have a chance :)

Ooh I didn't know there was no other way to bring up the tents.

Phew! Where did you book in the end?

I didn't know as well. Saw a very nice wedding at barrage and was inspired but upon enquiry with tentage provider, I was deterred by the cost. The $ can be put into other beta uses I feel.

If you want tentage, you need to book them fast and they'll need some time (few hours) to set up the tentage (though no crane required - mine came with a truckload of equipment and workers).. Reason to book them fast is coz you never know if it's a peak period for tentage e.g. most tentage companies didn't accept our order as they were already booked out - fyi, my wedding a couple of months ago coincided with F1 season and Singapore Garden Festival and end of hungry ghost festival so many of the companies have run out of tentage equipment as they either need to use them to set it up (F1 and garden festival) or waiting to dismantle them (end of hungry ghost festival). Prices also vary depending if you want simple tentage or with add-ons such as inner lining, fan and lights. We were fortunate to be quoted a price of $1+k as compared to the original price of $4+k for tentage with everything included as we had friends who took them on a package before so even though we were not using any package, they paiseh to charge us the actual full price hehe... But bear in mind, when we enquired with other companies, some full set-ups can go as high as $5k to $9k... Depending on your location, you may also want to check with the company when they're available to set up as well as dismantle the tentage. E.g. Our tentage was just to host the lunch buffet at church after the morning solemnization ceremony so our church committee didn't have much qualms when our tentage company had to set up 1 week before AD and dismantle only few days after AD (coz the company only had that much manpower and our AD period was the time when they had to quickly dismantle the tentage at garden festival because of their contract with the gardens). If your venue is a rented venue, you may get charged extra by your venue if the tentage is set up too early or dismantled after your AD... Just some stuff for you to consider if you're opting for tentage...

Really? I was kinda disappointed by the prices of tentages as to have a basic tentage is already $6 - 10k. This was the price I confirmed with a bride who shared her experience with me as well. Would you be able to share what type of package that your friend took? and which company? If the rates are affordable, I would like to reconsider again.

Yeah, we were initially thrown off by the rates that different tentage companies were quoting us but we still had to engage one as we have to consider the possibility of rainy weather or extremely hot sunny day which will make our church solemnization ceremony guests uncomfortable if they have to dine in such conditions. My friend took up a package that included tentage and some other stuff (not sure what) but we managed to eventually negotiate to get the same price for just the tentage alone without all the other stuff (we already had everything else sorted out and wanted purely tentage only). We paid $1400 ($1498 after 7% GST) for A-shape marquee of size 40feet by 60feet with white canvas top, white inner lining, warm lights and automated ceiling fans (the usual price for this set-up specification is $2640 before GST).We didn't use the warm lights (it was daytime and we were blessed with really good weather on our AD - cloudy with the right amount of sunlight) but we reckon the place looks magical if we turned on the lights for a night function (we tried it out to see how it'll look like at night when we had our wedding rehearsal a couple of nights before the AD). Here's the contact details of the tentage company which we hired (do take note that most tentage companies take quite a while to reply and Shirley from this company is frequently away on assignments so may not reply your emails so promptly):

Actually we have the same vendor source. They are the ones that told me that for Marina Barrage need craning to get the structures onto the high grounds (the open space of the barrage is at the top). Due to the craning, the costs are high.

But your tentage fitted how many pax in what seating? Maybe I can explore other places that do not require craning.

I see... It was a lunch buffet post-solemnization and it's free-style seating (the tables were only reserved for VIPs) to allow everyone to mingle around unlike our banquet dinner which was proper seating for everyone. We had about 200 pax for lunch and there was plenty of space still for people to walk around and for breathing space hehe...

Must find JP ? I wonder how do we file the ROM thing since i am not local.

Is your fiancé a Singaporean citizen or PR? Visit www.rom.gov.sg to view all the procedures for filing the notification etc... Non-citizens/PRs who are working in Singapore need to get approval from MOM before filing ROM notification. JP or other solemnizers are available for you to personally ask and request if you want to host your solemnization outside of ROM. If you're happy to have the solemnization within ROM itself, you can arrange with ROM to have one of their solemnizers solemnize your wedding in ROM and then have the celebration banquet elsewhere.

If you don't mind, you can get your AD photographer from your bridal store. What budget do you have in mind?

3k for both video and photo.

I checked the bridal store and they will assign the crew for you and usually you wont be able to choose the crew based on their portfolio.

so i most likely will hire external.

I think isnap has a package at 2850nett for PG VG and photobooth.
Alternatively 12loves with less than $3k for PG and VG. Can't think of any more at the moment. I have almost the same budget as you.
what about bridal? Any you have in mind?

Even though your dad's friend will settle the ROM side of things, I think he only meant the solemnization bit. Filing of notification still has to be done by you and your fiancé online (your dad's friend won't know all your personal details right plus you still have to pay for the filing) and both of you also need to physically be present for verification of documents and statutory declaration (VD/SD) at ROM at a fixed appointment date that is given to you after you've filed your notification online. So don't take it for granted that "ROM" is settled because there's still quite a bit of stuff you need to settle yourself that you can't rely on someone else except perhaps your fiancé. Don't forget about the MOM approval bit if you're working in Singapore or if your fiance's also working here but she's neither a citizen or PR. And one of you need to be physically in Singapore for a total of at least 15 days (doesn't have to be consecutive) prior to the filing but this is usually not a problem if one of you have been residing or working here for quite a while...

Hi all, any mua to recommend?

My prewedding photoshoot as well as AD MUA (as well as hairstylist) is Melissa Yeo. She is one of the few MUAs under Jawn Happy.Ever.After's bridal package - they picked out Melissa for me as I wanted a simple and natural yet elegant look. She's very nice and friendly to work with and also styles me up very nicely (even someone like my dad who's so nonchalant about make-up and hairstyles kept repeating how well my make-up and hair was done every now and then). Melissa has been a MUA for more than a decade not just for bridal but also for commercial lines and she's also been the MUA for several local and foreign celebrities. Not sure how much her rates are like if you seek her service individually (as mine was already covered by my package from Jawn) but you can find her portfolio and contact details at her website at www.melissayeo.com ... But do take note to arrange your MUA early coz many of the good and popular ones do get their dates booked out quite fast, especially if they do commercial and not just bridal make-up like Melissa...

Hellos BTB,

JTS: About 3 weeks before my cousin's AD, in order to look pretty and nice on that day,She went to see this doctor for dermalift on her face as well as breast. After the treatment, the fine lines on the face are not that obvious as compared to before. Her breast looked much fuller and lifted when she wore the gown on the AD. The doctor took photos before and after the procedure for her to compare as well.

Hi all my ROM, Bridal shop , banquet and AD photographer settled. Rings collected. did i missed out anything?
How about your guests? Draft list of people you're inviting, contact them to confirm if they can make it/save the dates, and draft seating arrangements. If can confirm attendance soon, you can send out invites at the start of Dec. You need to consider how much time it takes to print the invites but try to send them at least 2 weeks ahead.

Guest list all done up. RSVP all replied.

yes got food tasting. we got M hotel bridal suite
Great! How about make up trial, clothes fittings? Facial? Can maybe squeeze in 2 sessions but shouldnt do it any closer than 1 wk before in case you break out. And the guo da li stuff, if you're doing it? Bridesmaid and groomsmen clothes, their duties on AD? AD schedule? Bridal car (is that what it's called)? Decorations?

Hmm can't think of anything else at this point.

When is your appointment to declare your info at ROM?

Seems like you got everything done! I'm not sure if you can change the date rom automatically gave you though. Did you call to check if it's possible?
