Hihi! Haha actually I haven't decided whether to read tong shu or consult master coz I couldn't really understand the tong shu (I had browsed thru 2013 edition). Hmm, we shortlisted some hotels but recently don't have much hotel roadshows. How gd are the perks for these roadshows? One of my colleagues nego-ed free corkage waiver.

if u wanna consult master, can try master david tong. he has a professional consulting thread here http://singaporebrides.com/weddingf...ongs-advice-corner-geomancy-and-fengshui.186/! :)

roadshows usually have way better perks. some have free flow beer & wine, some have free corkage waiver, some have 1 more complimentary stay in bridal suite etc. Any hotels you're looking at?

Did you try Master Tong too? Hmm I'm looking at hotels with smaller settings, one of them is Orchard Hotel but needs minimum of 20 tables :( , so will continue to look around

I consulted Master Tong.. He didn't have to wait for the tong shu to be out, he calculated the dates based on our lunar birth dates.. price quite reasonable and he provided few dates to choose from..
I did consider orchard hotel as well.. one thing I didn't like is that there are few ballroom together.. but the coordinator is really friendly and the perks are attractive..

by the way, I have booked Marina Mandarin Vanda Ballroom for Oct 2015 for our big day!! Christine was our wedding sales and she was really nice, warm and friendly. Ballroom can accomodate min. 20, max 3o tables. Downside is probably the low ceiling and small stage. Otherwise, its pretty decent. ;)
I have booked Marina Mandarin Ballroom for Oct 2015 for our AD too.. I got to agree Christine was really nice.

Its easier if u get a local one to do overseas since u can view n try the gowns before u sign up.. but for overseas one, u can see their photos etc to have a rough idea of what kind of gowns they have I guess...

Local ones u can sign up for the whole package including AD too so less hassle..

You go for local BS or overseas ??

Hi Lemons, I have 1 wg and 1 cheongsam which is very minimal as compared to others. We are considering doing some smart casual outfits (own wardrobe)...

To save cost, I select alarte to engage each item separately.
Start Early especially for alarte because will need more time to coordinate most things though cost is low.

Gowns can buy online (find cheap and nice ones - only <$250)
Photography - getting my friend to do (Budget $900 for full day event)
Bridal Bouquet and car deco - getting katong florist (price <$350 , include car deco, quite nice )
I am getting Luncheon instead of Dinner as it is much lower cost as well, also not that tired. Hotel : Holiday Inn

Hi babe. Thanks for sharing!! I'm doing ala carte too. May I know where will you be getting your gown? And are you taking prewed photography? Heh. Thanks!

im going in oct 14 lol. will definitely share my experience here after the pre-wed shoot. my AD gowns are with Z wedding. I'm going ala carte.

sure, u can get a local BS to go there and shoot. u can choose ur gowns here and bring it over for the photoshoot. The thing with overseas BS is that you only have 1 day to choose your gowns, and if you are not able to find those that are to your liking, then it's gonna be quite jialat =x my package includes 5 gowns. so im hoping i can find 5 gowns that i act like and not choose for the sake of choosing =x

went to Sophia on Friday and Z Wedding today... For sophia, they allow me to try on a few gowns but nothing caught my eyes and their gowns are short for my height (i don't blame them, Im 1.77m)...

Z wedding is pretty alright, their gowns are pretty unique... like the fact that the photographer is Chris Ling... anyone has signed up with Z Wedding or heard any reviews?

Has anyone heard of BlueBay wedding? Any feedback on this?

Im frm bluebay... went for my shoot in apr this yr... i have a pleasant experience with them... all their stuffs r very friendly n helpful... n they will try their best to accommodate...

I actually considered Z Wedding but went ahead with White Link cos Z was very expensive. I was sold because of White Link's gowns and photo quality.

I called orchard hotel but they didn't want to entertain anything less than 20 tables...haha....the person who spoke to me on the phone is quite dao1 though
I contacted Orchard Hotel too but the sales people were very pushy. She kept calling me and smsing me while I was at work, asking me to meet her after work or Sunday 8pm kinda timing. It was quite inconvenient for us but she kept insisting on meeting. I had to ignore her calls after.

My friend took up Z Wedding. Very pretty gowns I must say. She was raving about her photos and their service but somehow I read more negative reviews about their service. Her photos by Chris Ling were nice but VERY expensive to top-up. She paid additional $6k to get 60 photos  so in all, she spent almost $10k.

Would suggest u go down to the BS better. If keep shortlisting no ending one..

Haha, Yeah I know . But im afraid once step in the first BS can never get out . LOL !

I did mine pre-wed in taichung. Then got a local AD package.
I was told that the album and photo frame freight charges is about additional 60sgd. But I have yet to receive mine, still printing. i think for mine, price will go up, cos when I top up for additional photos, I asked for more freebies, etc small photoframes and stuff. :p

Hi All BTB (2015) looking for wedding venue (Hotel Lunch),

I've done some 'groundworks' and have input information from packages received by some hotels in a spreadsheet. I know it's quite a tedious project so I'm sharing it here! View on Google docs via link HERE
My wedding is in Dec 2015 and have already booked my wedding lunch recently. Took my fiance and I like close to 2 months.

Hotels featured:
Amara Sanctuary Resort
Amara Singapore
Carlton Hotel
Conrad
Crowne Plaza Changi
Fullerton
Goodwood Park (till sept 15 only)
Grand Park City Hall
Hilton
M Hotel Anson Room
Mandarin Orchard
Marina Bay Sands
Marina Mandarin
Orchard Hotel
Park Royal @ Pickering
Swissotel (until sept 2015 only)
Traders (until Aug 2015)
Concorde
Riverview
Hotel Rendezvous
Village Hotel Changi

Some tips for venue research:
1. Start early (1 to 1.5 years in advance)
2. Good to do site recce on weekends between 430pm to 6pm (usually set up for wedding dinner 70-100% complete)
3. Ask about payment. Best credit card rebate- Standard Chartered Manhattan. Most hotels accept staggered payments so you can maximise your rebates. But anything can happen, so you might not want to pay anything more than deposit until your wedding day
4. Ask about projector and audio usage. Some hotels may charge additional for this
5. If banquet sales manager is unwilling to give you more perks, for lunch, you might want to consider exchanging free alcoholic beverages for other perks. Afterall, people don't usually drink in the afternoon.

That's quite ex o_O considering the photos will end up in the storeroom.

yea especially when I actually wanted a coffee table kinda album... Z wedding mentioned that they are giving me some discount and it's valid till end of the month... to be honest, I'm just afraid that I will not find the gown I like if it is off the rack... I'm also worried bat measurements....

Indeed. But it's primarily because we didn't really set a criteria for what kind of hotel we want. My fiance is kind of fussy so we ended up going to a lot of hotels and doing much secondary research. And after much deliberation, we've finally decided on Conrad centennial hotel. :) food is highly recommended, package is comprehensive, location good, ballroom one of the better ones we liked, staff very professional, price is slightly higher but honestly not as expensive as we thought it might be. I would say it's value for money. Even my boss held his wedding there!

Nothing caught your eyes ??

The gowns at Digio are rather for petite brides. Im a plus sized bride....and I didn't get to try any so not confident of signing with them

Have you considered Sheraton Towers and Four Seasons? I attended both with 12 - 14 tables.

Heard that Bluebay do taipei shooting as well . But do they offer Tai Zhong ??

After upgrading how much was your package ? =X

Ya i think i will check out Four Seasons, thanks for the advise!
